not a bug Helmet display offset to left of line of sight
SKYWARRIOR posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, I am a Newbie but working hard to improve. Trying to perfect the helmet target designation routine and it's annoying that my helmet display is offset to the left instead of in front of the line of my nose. It means I have to look out of the corner of my eye to the left or right depending which of aircraft I am looking. I saw a reference to this being able to be adjusted in special controls previously but currently cannot find this control on present version. I have tried Track IR changes but thats not the control I believe. Basically I want the display centred in my line of sight if possible -
DCS 2.9.6, SP, Win 11, see track. Comm 1 initially on Ch 1, 127.5 mhz. Comm 2 on Ch 1, 264.00 mhz. Using comm menu ATC/Inbound call on Comm 1. ATC replies. BOTH radio channel indicators show incoming transmission delta symbol. Comm 1 scratchpad shows MANUAL channel input symbol (M), and reverts to CH 1 indication (1) after ATC transmission completes. Comm 2 does uncommanded MANUAL channel selection to 127.5, which persists after incoming transmission. Quite annoying. Hornet Radio Bug.trk

Hi! I've been trying to complete mission 10 a few times and after engaging the second SAM site just after raven 61 as instructed... Raven 61 just fly around an enemy airfield, nothing happens and then RTB whitout any coms... I've checked on youtube, there was suppose to be some migs trying to take off from that airfield, but it never happens, so maybe its a broken trigger... Can you guys check it please?

Hi, I noticed that the default kneeboards with the laser code is no longer shown, at least for me. In addition I can't get rid of sticky annoying kneeboard which re not in my: Saved Games\DCS\Kneeboard\F-16C_50\ Nor in the mission itself, theater or ....\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Cockpit\Scripts\KNEEBOARD\ How can I get the one with teh laser code back and get rid off the stick ones? Is there a log which would tell me where they come from? e.g. these: null

I flew the F-18 today and noticed that the GBUs weren't hitting. You can (could?) set the laser code on the F-18 during flight, and if you set it accordingly on the GBU and the pod, it will follow the laser (otherwise CODE flashes). But that doesn't work anymore. As soon as you change the laser code (on the GBU and pod) in the air, all the GBUs miss. You can only use this code if you set a different code for the bomb in the menu while you're on the ground using the new function (on the rear arm). Is that intentional, or has a new bug been built in? If changing the laser codes on the GBUs in the air doesn't work anyway, then the function would have to be removed. You can just try it yourself... load the plane, take off, set the code to something other than 1688, and nothing will hit.

not a bug Hellfire L starts looking for targets too early?
hinapilot posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey guys, Not 100% sure about this one, I could not find precise information on it. I've had a case yesterday where I fired a radar Hellfire using the TADS as the sight (George as CPG) I was looking at a vehicle around 9km away from me and fired when conditions for the Lima where met. My lead helicopter was slightly in front and to the right of me (see Tacview and track). Right off the rail, the hellfire started tracking them instead, resulting in a blue on blue. My understanding of the Lima was that the missile would fly to the coordinates that the TADS gave it, then start looking for a target at that location a few seconds before impact, not right after launch. Repro: -Ask George to WAS the HF Limas -Look for a target in front of you at a good distance with George (TADS) -Put a helicopter on the probable flight path of the missile -Fire the Lima -Observe that it can lock onto the helicopter On the track, accident occurs around 0550L Note that throughout the engagement, George was doing some weird calls about the aircraft being armed but that seems to be a different matter (it's not a track replay thing, it was happening yesterday in game too). Is it possible that this specific Lima already had coordinates in from the FCR sweep that I was performing at the same time? (It did have the lead Apache as NTS for a bit then the NTS became a wheeled vehicle, but when I switched to the video page the FCR was still sweeping in the back even if George had selected that Lima and was using the TADS) 2024-06-09 11-21-04.mp4 Bug_Hellfire_L.trk -

I'm having trouble getting Jester to do a heading memory alignment after completing a mission, shutting down/rearming. I initially completed a memory heading alignment when i entered the aircraft at the start of the sortie. The box is checked in my mission editor. Can i carry out two memory heading alignments in one sortie or do i have to complete a full alignment the next time out? Thanks! PS. Great module! Congratulations.

Every time I run an AG Attack with a powered up but not selected TGP, I have to select the TGP after the AG Attack and have to reset the TGP (TMS down) to get the STPs back in the Nav Mode. Without the reset, I get no STPs in the Nav mode after an AG attack was done with a linked but never selected TGP (CCIP Bombing, Quick Action, Caucasus, Free Flight). Master Arm = on AG = on Weapons = on TGP = power on but not selected (never on one of the MFDs) CCIP Attack AG = off Nav Mode = no Nav STPs Fix: AG = on TGP = selected TMS = down (reset) AG = off Nav Mode = STPs are back This is required every time. No track required. Do an AG attack with a powered up TGP and you will see this feature. I know this feature was introduced with one of the TGP updates. It's been in the game for a long time, but it teases me every time I do a CCIP bombing with a power up but never selected TGP. And yes, it happens every single time with every AG weapon as long as a powered up TGP is on board. Now I want to know if this behavior "correct as is" or do I have to open a bug report? No mods. Slow fix, done for the 1000 and 1 time.

Sometimes when george had a laser range to a target that is moving and then switching him over to guns he stops lasing. Then when asked to fire, he will say the target is out of range, even if the target is now in range. The laser range just gets stuck on some value and george doesn't understand that that value is stale and refuses to fire. Just today I had a Mig-29, coming straight in and at me, George had an IAT on the jet, and I asked him to shoot the gun, but he stubbornly refused because his laser range said that the target was 7000m out when it was maybe 2500m away. I'd like that if asked to fire, that george would re-lase the target before deciding that it is out of range based on stale laser range. Alternatively just keep the laser on while the gun is selected.

I cannot find any (recent) report of this. The trackfile I have is huge. If this is a new bug, I will see if I can reproduce it.

So I flew as cpg in mp with a human pilot powered everything up and we took off. Basically the TADS when deslaved was moving on its own in a perfect square motion. It would start moving right then down, left and up, repeat. Only when slaved it wouldn't do that. Was that an error with start-up procedure? I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue (changed a few settings and the little joystick thing in the cockpit which usually moves when you use the TADS or curser didn't move either). When starting up I think I did all the necessary steps like powering up the TADS and laser and stuff. However we took off pretty quick so there might have been things the pilot or I forgot about when starting up. Although I'm not aware of any steps the pilot has to make to start up the TADS. Is that a known bug or just user error? Weird thing is we took off two times right before this and the issue did not occur.

Latest patch reverted to the old problems with the Dogfight Switch and radar modes not being remembered. Put her into DF mode and select your Radar mode such as vertical and it loses lock and you lose the mode. It exactly the way it was before you guys fixed it a few patches ago.

7 april 2024. Hello, I created a mission with f18s and supercarrier in Caucacus. When you operate as player/client taxiing on an Airport or flying, your HUD Heading is normal synchronised with the HSI and SA page, that is normal! But when you taxi or been parked on a carrierdeck you can see that there is NO synchronisation between HUD Heading,HSI and SA page at all. This results in wrong position of Hafu symbols on the SA page!See screenshots.

If you set up a flight in the ME, the primary comms freq. is synchronized with the pre-configured frequencies of the radios (and with the default comms freq. of the whole flight). In case of our AH-64 this is channel 1 of the ARC-164. If you change the freq. in the upper portion, it also automatically changes radio channel #1 and vice versa. The datalink presets corresponds to those pre-configured radio frequencies. So by default, PRESET1 corresponds to radio channel #1, PRESET2 to radio channel #2 and so on. Thus, using PRESET1 (= ARC-164 chan.# 1 = AI flight primary comms. freq.) should and does work. The issue is now, that PRESET1 is not assigned to the radio when entering the cockpit. Instead, the ARC-164 is set to MAN and the primary comms. frequency, while all other radios get their appropriate DL preset correctly assigned to it. You have to manually assign PRESET1 to the radio - then also the DL functions work. I assume, this is due to the way the radios are initialized at mission start: assign DL presets assign primary comms. frequency to the whole flight and thus, overriding the DL preset Did I miss here something, or is this really a bug/quirk? Or how could I get the correct DL preset assigned to the ARC-164 automatically?

Hello! I saw a thread that's similar topic, which is now closed for further reply, so I hope this is cool if I start another one. I'm playing the Wild Weasels Over Syria campaign. I press Com1 on the ICP, and then Enter (ICP) to make the main page com1 enter 'preset' mode. It really helps complete the comms in the campaign with ease. The thing is, it works until I call a Tanker, or AWACS, or ATC with the F10 menu. Then the com1 / UHF on the main DED page will not return to the preset mode if I press Com1 (ICP) and then Enter (ICP) again. I've been mitigating this by flipping my UHF selector to BACKUP on the left side panel and setting the backup UHF section to Preset and scanning through the preset channels with the selector switch, and that works to keep the comms going for the mission. I just want to report this to see if it's of any great concern, thanks for reading!

Not sure if this is a bug or it is designed that way, but since it's a 3-position switch, I would assume, the right mouse clicks moves switch always forward, while left mouse clicks should move switch always backward. Now it is not wokring like a usual 3 or more positional switch. Now when switch is forward (on ON position), left click moves the switch to OFF, you can hear that double movement of the switch ("click-click"), but it moves just by one position. If you press right mouse click you can only hear one "click", but I would assume, right mouse click should do nothing more , but to stay there, when in ON position.

Hello, This is my first bug post, and look, I'm a n00b, so maybe there's some bizarre, undocumented, Byzantine procedure here, but I don't think so. Hot start. 4x MavFs and ATFLIR. Master Arm on. A/G Mode. ATC active. GMT on RDDI. Mavs on LDDI. HSI on AMPCD: box SEQ1; box AUTO (OSB 15 and 16). Select CPL on UFC Select ATFLIR on AMPCD and make SOI with SCS aft. Cycle INR to Scene to AUTO with SCS aft. Autopilot quits with Master Caution notification as soon as AUTO mode is selected for ATFLIR. "So," I thought, "maybe the F-18 Autopilot sucks. Bummer." So, I did some testing, and here's the thing: Nothing I do ever allows me to rebox "Auto" in the HSI. I can reset the entire jet back to Nav mode, turn off the ATFLIR, clear the A/P completely with the paddle, etc.( To be fair, I haven't ejected the actual TGP from the ship). Still can't box "Auto" to get CPL to appear on the UFC. If I try to enter any kind of Autopilot mode, say "BALT," I get a Master Caution "AUTOPILOT" on the left DDI. None of this behavior has come up on any search, in this forum or elsewhere. None of this behavior is documented in any official or unofficial documentation. I can replicate this behavior 100% of the time, and I bet you can too. So, what's up? All of this made sense as some kind of F-18 bad-design limitation from McDonnell-Douglas, but the perma-break of the auto-pilot makes no sense unless somehow the ATFLIR is shorting the flight computer, which would be a major failure. Thanks for reading. Let me know if I'm missing something, but this system behavior is beyond bizarre.

It's not the first time I experience this in MP, but only now have I decided to raise an issue, with SARH/IR missiles missing A-10 from point blank range. In the provided GIF from distance of 7km down to basically nothing, the A-10C manages to evade 6 missiles in total, with only mild maneuvering. Now before anyone jump on "he was notching" train, the A-10 was maybe notching the first 27-R, but the rest should have hit. I've had my missiles miss form dead 6 at distances less than 2km also, but I attributed this to possible de-sync at a time. In total the following failed to hit: 3 x R-27R 2 x R-73 2 x R-27T It's like the A-10C has a cloak of invincibility or something. It seems easier to fly over it and bomb it, then to hit it with A2A ordinance.
