  1. Pay no mind to Beirut. He’s just here to be as unproductive as possible, while showing us how “chill” he is about everything. Lighting up cigs, then flicking them at kids once he’s done…. Calling up his “GF” after a hard day of sitting around the house in his PJs… “What did you do to day babe?” ”Ah, you know, messed around on a forum with a few players that took issue with certain aspects of a new map. Because I’m a contributing member of society and quite the intellect…”
  2. I’m actually a guy at the park in a tuxedo, flying airplanes on his iPad. So, can’t relate. In all seriousness, having “fun” is relative. If in some bizarre twist super carrier was eliminated, I would uninstall DCS. It’s the same as people who don’t like flying helicopters or strictly fly helicopters. Please try to understand, some of us like specific forms of aviation. F-15s, F-4Es, or land locked maps do not move the needle for me. At all. And telling me to like what you like is generally asinine. “Come on, man. Like the movies and music I like….” That’s not how that works. I despise country music, but I understand others like it. It’s not my place to tell them not to like it. Even if they’re some dude sitting at home in PJ’s. (Side note: I don’t change until I’m absolutely going to bed; I’ve been blindsided too many times by random events in the middle of the night).

  4. Dude, don’t give yourself a nosebleed over this.
  5. I would’ve been happy with half of Afghanistan (maybe even 1/3), flat terrain, then shoreline. But they swiftly decided not to compromise instead. It’s nuts that our requests have gotten as simple as, “can we fly here as well?” They finally made a map that’s worth it, but we’re supposed to give up carrier ops to “enjoy” it. Like, I only fly on DCS because of carrier ops. Afghanistan would’ve been a great expansion to the naval aviation experience.
  6. And I followed those rules. I can't fly from the carrier to Afghanistan. So, please, ED, give me rolled-up sleeves. I can request something while making a statement. There is nothing in the rules about that. The reasons behind what I want shouldn't matter. And here's the beauty of it: You're not essential to any of this. In fact, you don't need to understand it. You're the one who's invested more in the outcome of these rolled-up sleeves than I am. I've submitted something I want. ED will be able to handle it from there. Thank you for letting me know things I already knew. I have three maps I enjoy using (Syria, PG, Marianas) and a fourth I never use (NTTR—I bought it because of a group thing). Edit: Move on with your day, man. I know I have.
