I'm just starting with the Mission Editor so I'm probably not the best one for this, but since the update adding Eastern Afghanistan I've been really wanting to make some in depth realistic missions for Afghanistan. What you are describing is exactly the type of stuff I want to fly on the Afghanistan map. One of my biggest problems the last few days is finding information on how things were done so that I can make a realistic mission. I hope other, more experienced, mission makers jump on this and help build out some of these mission. If not, I'd be happy to try my hand at a few. They will just probably take me awhile since I'll be learning a lot and am probably more constrained on my time than some.

I'd love to be able to read the mission description for instant action missions just like with regular missions. Sometimes I don't have a lot of time so it is nice to just do a quick instant action mission. Usually I am looking to do something in particular and the name of the mission doesn't really tell me whether that mission fits what I'm looking for, so I have to go into the mission and wait for it to load in order to see if it is one I want to do. It would be nice to be able to read what the mission is without having to load it, just like we can do with full length missions via the Mission button on the right of the main menu.

I'd love to see Al Jawf (or Al Jouf) Regional Airport added as well. It is within the low detail area and just south of the high detailed area but I'd love to see it added, if possible, to be able to recreate some A-10 SCUD hunting missions. I believe Task Force Normandy also deployed from this base to kick of Desert Storm

Wishlist Request - 10 Key support for Jester UI
J. Clark replied to J. Clark's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
That's unfortunate. Hopefully ED can look into that. I'm glad it is on your list to add bindings for it though. -
I have tried to use my keypad to enter coordinates into the Jester UI. It didn't seem to work. I've only been able to do it through the number keys on the top row of the keyboard. I fly exclusively in VR and it takes a lot longer to search for and find keys on the top row than it would to enter them on the keypad. I'm not sure if it is possible but it would be nice to be able to somehow be able to bind buttons to certain keys in the Jester UI. I have a button box I made that has buttons setup like a UFC. I use that in other aircraft to enter coordinates, since it is closer to me than my keyboard when I fly, and it would be nice if I could set it up to be able to enter coordinates for Jester.

Does the new map mean the high detailed areas are being extended or is it just simplifying the map to avoid confusion of what each part includes?

My understanding is that Steam changed their pre-order rules to make it very difficult for developers to do pre-orders, so for the last few years pre-orders haven't been available on steam. Modules usually have a pretty good discount in pre-order and about 5% less of a discount in early access. Early access usually lasts for a few years, until the module is done or close to it. If you make purchases on Steam and then want to use the standalone version you can create an account on Eagle Dynamics site and then bind your Steam account to your standalone account. Once that happens you can't use the modules on steam anymore but have access to them all on standalone. Some people prefer Steam so they can have all of there games in one place and I think downloads might be a little faster. With standalone you can pre-order modules at a greater discount, try most modules for free for 2 weeks, sales usually last longer and can be more frequent, and Valve doesn't take a cut so more money goes directly to the developer. I'm sure I missed out on some of the arguments for both Steam and standalone but that should give you an idea.

Not yet. I'm guessing sometime around the 26th since that is the date they list for the Chinook release. You'll see the release date of the next patch when the Patch Status post gets updated.

Massun92´s Asset Pack - Official (update march 2024)
J. Clark replied to Massun92's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Congrats! I hope this happens more often with assets. I've really wanted to use these but have held off, partially because they weren't in the base game and I didn't want to be adding and removing a bunch of mods all the time as I usually play a campaign mission and then do various other things and I try not to have any mods installed when I play campaign missions..- 523 replies

It would be nice to add an ability to follow an uploaded file in the user files section. That way you could get notified when the author uploads a new version with changes and don't have to go back and check. Something like how you can watch a github project to get notified of new releases.
