DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024
Hayrake YE-ZB replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Are you going to wait to fly it to the 28th? Maybe have a ceremony with your friends and family? -
If complaining to on a forum works, then why is the module delayed? Show me how the misery has moved up the release and I’ll bow to your logic. The truth is that a handful of inconsolable people are irrationally upset and want to be consoled. There is nothing further to say, good luck finding happiness in video games.

It gets old, mate. Someone posts a sad story that no one cares about because everyone is dealing with the same delay, and it results in a flurry of embarrassing sob stories of victimhood, all based on the idea that developers are greedy and evil, as if they are purposely delaying the release while sitting around an opulent chalet counting their money. The truth is that they are a group of enthusiasts who desire to produce a good product, but have run into unforeseen problems which take time to solve given the limited resources they have. It’s a handful of programmers and artists, not a giant studio funded by a deep pocketed corporation. That’s the way it works, whether you are a prince living on a yacht on your subject’s backs, or are living alone, marooned on the moon. You do you with whatever resources you have, and live with your choices. It is what it is, complaining solves nothing.

What did the contract that you agreed to when you pre-purchased say? This is a helluva lot of drama over a paltry sum of money. It’s a fraction of what it costs me taking my family out for a meal at a decent restaurant. It’s bizarre to see people wasting time writing long diatribes over trivial matters.

Thank you!

Tomcat is much harder to do aerial refueling than hornet
Hayrake YE-ZB replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Of course the Hornet is easier to tank. McD knew it would have to refuel every twenty minutes to stay in the air!- 26 replies

BIGNEWY didn’t get the point of the joke, perhaps because he didn’t see the movie. Absolutely no disrespect was intended. Lionel Mandrake was the only sane character in the movie!

ED, and any third party module builder, would probably love to have the consistent revenue that iRacing subscriptions generate. The subscription model would also generate the resources and customer relationship that would provide consistent upgrades and improvements. The industry isn’t going back, and you can thank the days of kids pirating games and playing for free for the changes. The market will ultimately decide, but so far, I don’t see anyone with a viable business model that can challenge the way things work now. The programmers and managers that build combat flight sims and modules could easily use their talents to make a lot more money elsewhere in RPG’s, Space, etc. A lot of flight simmers understand this, and acknowledge that we’re lucky to have them. If I thought that the ROI was lucrative on flight simulation, trust me, I’d be piling capital into a startup. Maybe some of you would enjoy giving it a shot?

It’s not parallax, is it? If they’re modeling that, based on where the pilot’s head is located, then…WOW!

No contract exists. No monies have changed hands, no written or verbal agreements have been made. So yet again, we see meaningless opinion, whether in support or in criticism, much of it directed at forum members who have nothing to do with the progress of the product, simply because they have different expectations. In this case, the developer has already stated that they will not respond to further requests. Looking at some of the attitudes here, they have chosen wisely.

I see, well that would explain why I can’t find the information. For some reason, I thought that separate profiles could be built to hook into different aircraft. Thanks.

Hi there, Is there a guide or video that shows how to set up the light feedback on the PTO2 controller? It works beautifully out of the box with the F18, but I’m trying to get the master caution light, and the landing gear position lights, and the gear and hook transition lights to work with other aircraft. I’ve read the SimappPro guide, and don’t quite see where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

DCS: F-4E Phantom II - Episode I - Introduction
Hayrake YE-ZB replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Not as tiresome as officious people who show up everywhere to scold everyone about everything that doesn’t meet their lofty standards. -
Might be an opportunity for someone to make a iPad app of a plotting board, but the mission distances and assets might not require one. Doubt if there will be many open ocean go find the Kiddo Butai scenarios for a long time.
-
It would be cool, even as part of a separate pop up or “kneeboard” that could be written on.

Aha! That's it! We have to find out when VBF-10 left on their CV11 tour! That's got to be the release date! (Then again, some of us might be trolling a few dramatic blokes here who have been predicting doom for years, and understand that it'll be ready when it's ready)

No! If you squint just right, you can see a hidden message in dark characters of some sort over the red. It’s coded, and needs deciphering. Please help!
