  1. I've been really struggling with take off (never had problems with the P51) and about 1 in 10 takeoffs are successful but the successes I manily put down to luck rather than skill. I've been using the DCS Mosquito Take off practice mission for the Caucuses (its in the Instant action option) to practice as it puts you at the start of the runway ready for take off. Following the steps posted by Bozon see below which helped 1. Align the tail wheel and get to a complete STOP. 2. Trim rudder right till the indicator points to the letter “T” of “Trim”. Elevators two notches forwards (a long press). Ailerons 1 notch to the right. Flaps 10 degrees on the gauge. 3. While on brakes, bring the power up to 10–12 boost - no more at this stage! Do not let go of the brakes before the power stabilizes. 4. Let go of the brakes. If you start veering off, apply rudder to resist until fully deflected - if this is not enough (it will not be at slow speeds) only then tap the brakes lever while still at full rudder deflection. When the veering is negated try to hold course with the rudder alone - no sudden changes, and no dancing on the rudder! 5. Within a couple of seconds you will be able to completely overcome any veering off tendencies with the rudder alone. Do not use the brakes if the rudder alone is sufficient! From this point, rudder inputs should be minimal and smooth. 5. Do not mess with the throttles until you have a strong rudder response - then you can go full power if you like. What seems to have a made a big difference for me is setting the flaps to nearer 25 degrees rather than 10. Setting the brakes to a button or trigger to the joystick has also helped but try to use these as little as possible (if I start yo yoing early then I usually can't recover unless I stop completely come to a halt). If you have the channel map - try the Take Off Practice mission on there as the runway (Manston) is much wider and seems more grippy (but I could be wrong). Its not easy flying the Mosquito in DCS but then as others have said it wasn't easy in real life either.
  2. Indeed that would be awsome and suggested similar in a few youtube comments to Reflected. As for 100% accuracy he does say this in V for Victory campaign intro So in a way, the campaign is not a historical one, because there was no single squadron in the RAF that flew all of these mission types one after the other. These units would be specialized in a few of those instead. Still, I would call it a ‘bouquet’ of historically accurate recreations of a wide variety of missions flown by these brave airmen A similar approach maybe used for a Banff Strike Wing campaign. The big compromise is there is no Scotland or Norway map so South Atlantic would have to be used. The runways are still there and there is a website worth looking at for historical information http://rafbanfftrust.org/archive/index.html If you ever visit the area there is a memorial on the main Banff to Inverness road.

  4. I have a Ryzen 7 5700 32gb with RX6800XT gpu. I have a Pico 4 - lovely headset, good sweetspot, nice lenses but its a pig to get working with DCS and there seemed to be conflicts with Virtual Desktop and drivers for the gpu. Performance was not great, a fair bit of latency (even with a dedicated access point) and not a particularly good framerate. Your rig may handle it a bit better. Because of all the issues with the Pico, I got a 2nd hand Reverb G2 (v1). The sweetspot is poor but it connects and runs without some of the issues I had with the Pico. Runs quite smoothly, just wish sweetspot was better. This was improved a smidgen with a VRCover facial interface. Not had issues with v1 cable (yet) but have bought a spare V2 cable in case the V1 fails. Another point to consider is accessories - Pico accessories are cheap (prescription lenses £10 for the Pico, £60 for the G2). If you think your rig can handle it - Pico 4. Although in the "giving up on Pico 4" thread someone with AMD 5800X3D, 3080Ti, 64GB Ram system wasn't happy with the performance. The Pico 4 price occasionally drops to £320 on Amazon and very occasionally to £300. I should also add that I started with Quest 2 for a couple of weeks but wasn't impressed so bought the Pico thinking my system could handle it.
  5. Minor issue but in mission 5 I am unable to command 2nd element or flight to "engage primary and rejoin" - pressing F9 seems to freeze the view (pressing F9 again unfreezes). The work around is F10 "engage primary and RTB" (which works) and then commanding "rejoin" once primary target has been destroyed. Using Headtracker IR and UK keyboard.
