And not just aircraft. It opens up naval warfare as well.

Extremely important. It's how you reconcile a 360° environment with a monitor size view-port. In some cases, you need to widen the field of view to see enough of the environment, in other cases you have to narrow the field of view to see things at a realistic scale.

Actually, the dismounted infantryman is quite a bit more difficult to sneak up on since he can hear and has a wider, less restricted view of the ground immediately around him. Tanks are death traps in close quarters.

Missed first DCS level armor vehicle simulation

Just the other day I killed a KA50 and an A-10C from the same BMP2 before being killed myself. And today I killed 2 KA50s from a T-55. So it definitely can't be said that there's nothing to shoot at from CA units. -

No, WoT and WT have shown there's a market for tank themed arcade shooters. -
As Kaktus29 states, the T-80's advantage with those ATGMs is more a function of the terrain than it is the munitions. The advantage of the 9M119M is drastically amplified in DCSW by the fact that it's targets are usually in wide open terrain with no cover (due to the relatively low-poly terrain mesh of the black sea map). In reality, their targets wouldn't expose themselves for the incredibly long time of flight of 9M119M, especially given that the target knows it's being designated (by way of laser warning receivers). In realty, the 9M119M (and other semi-active homing missiles) are actually disadvantaged against conventional, unguided, fire and forget tanks shells because the semi-active homing rounds have a long time of flight, and require the firer to remain exposed for the duration. However, this doesn't pan out properly in DCS given the absence of realistic cover. They're only really at an advantage in a situation where both parties have no choice but to remain exposed to each other for the whole engagement. In a scenario where the M1 gets to roll up exposing its turret for a moment, fire is main armament, then reverse behind cover and jockey to another position before popping up and firing again, the 9M119M's advantage disappears. In fact, the munition becomes useless at that point, and the T-80 will be forced to revert to conventional unguided shells. You can be sure that when Nevada comes out, you're going to see a drastic diminishing of the T-80 /w 9M119M's advantage over M1s. And this will be due to the high-poly terrain mesh offering cover for proper tank engagement drills. The 9M119M is a clear advantage when used on a wide open, 3km^2 empty parking lot, but that's about the only place where it has the advantage.

That one I don't know the answer for. SkateZilla posted a few pages back that we should use the bazar folder, and that worked for me, so that's all I've done. I'm not sure what the reasoning is for the two different folders.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. You can select the paint scheme in the mission editor under the loadout screen. You'll see the option for paint scheme at the bottom of the right hand panel, under the loadout tab.

I'm assuming that... determines which countries this livery is available to, but adding Italy to that list doesn't seem to add the livery to Italy in the mission builder. Maybe "Italy" has an odd naming convention? I'm not sure. Sorry. [edit] Yes, it was a strange naming convention. Italy is referred to as "ITA" for the purpose of the description.lua. So where you see: change it to read:

To install a livery properly, just do the following: 1) Check in your installation folder to see if this exists: C:\Program Files:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\F-86F Sabre 2) If the "F-86F Sabre" folder doesn't exist under Bazar\Liveries, create it. Make sure to name it exactly as above. 3) Drop the entire downloaded (and unzipped) folder into that F-86F Sabre folder and you should be good. As for the USAF markings showing up, this is because with the last patch (which came out after the above skin), the method by which the markings are added has changed and the description.lua for that aircraft is no longer configured to omit those markings. In other words, the descrition.lua is out of date and needs to be updated. But it's very simple, and you can fix it yourself. Using notepad, open up the "description.lua" for your frecce tricolour skin (If installed properly, it should be in your \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\F-86F Sabre\Frecce Tricolori 2 folder). It will look like this: All you have to do is add one line - as highlighted below: ...save it, close, and you should be good to go.

...probably have more luck getting official documentation on this thing than you would for F-35
