Jumping onto this thread, im new to pc's and DCS so excuae me for any daft answers. My first and new system is a scan 3XS system with a rtx 4090, 7800x3d, 32gb corsair, 3440 x 1440 monitor. HP Reverb G2. In the cockpit thisng are good but could be better and when flying the ground and trees look good but not realistic enough, i had a f15e next to me earlier and it didnt look realistic / clear. Is it the vr or the settings? Im also running openXr toolkit but not sure what settings will be the best. So far ive maxed settings out in DLSS and backed some off. In Vr settings i put the sharpness to 1.5 Please help if you can Thanks Arron

Hi all its been a while, ok so not had chance to do anything as yet. However ive got a new spec list for a 4070ti see attached.. what would your thoughts be for this and also ive spoken with Scan sales guy for nearly an hour today. Top guy. Who said try there 3xs gamer 4090.. also see attached. Which one is better suited with the vr setup. And would the pre built 4090 they supply do more than the job for DCS Scan 3XS Gamer 4090 pre build https://www.scan.co.uk/products/3xs-gamer-rtx-amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-32gb-ddr5-24gb-nvidia-rtx-4090-2tb-m2-ssd-win-11 Or Scan pre built 3XS Gamer 4080 https://www.scan.co.uk/products/3xs-gamer-rtx-amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-32gb-ddr5-16gb-nvidia-rtx-4080-1tb-m2-ssd-win-11 Ive blown the budget out of the water now. I assume the pre built 4090 will smash the rest? arron yeates (1).pdf

Im on annual leave atm, hopefully either next week or the week after if hes free when im back in the cambridge area The local shop still hvnt got back to me so ill be giving them a miss... The guy i purchased my Hp Reverb g2 from has been building pc's apparently for 30 odd years for himself and made a list from Scan to run dcs with the reverb, when i rang scan they changed the psu to a 850w from the 750w. Would you change this in anyway to keep the same price point? Let me know your thoughts - See attached arron yeates.pdf

The guy who i bought the HP Reverb from sent me another list of kit below saying this ia what you need for the vr setup. What are your thoughts - the company is call Scan
-
Im certainly glad i asked. Next will be a cupa t or a honey Rum. To read it all digest and see what i can figure out. Hopefully the shop responds tomorrow as well

Yeah im going to take Qcumbers offer up, just need to see when i can get over to the see the system. If im happy with that then ill know where im kind of at. Id build it myself if.... i new what parts looked like and where they went as i do like to build and modify many things lol. All i keep doing is watching dcs you tube videos haha. This is my favourite f15 video at the mo.

See looking at the pc specialist link thenk goi g to gaming pc, there seems to bw a lot of options of gear ive never heard of or lnow what it is or does lol. Ttying to run a comparisment was quite challanging. I sound quite thick here lol
-
Yeah both quotes had built in wifi which was good. But may go down the hard wire option for best results. Ive been sent a link to scan https://www.scan.co.uk/shops/pro-gaming/pc-range#group1=tab2 Can you see on here which would be a great vr compatable pc at a good cost? They do low medium and high spec builds but myself putting it all together i may have a better chance at winning the lottery lol

Slippa, im glad your finding this thread helpful im learning alot from these guys. Never had so many helpful people. Yeah as you can read im a newbie to pc's so its very overwelming as ive had quotes thinking tjey will work but then found they wont be very good with vr after ive been told they vr ready systems... to someone who doesnt no anything about it all could have spend alot of money to find out its no good. These guys may end up costi g me more money but... and i say it with great kindness that spending more or getting there help will hopefully get me a pc that works well with vr and is smooth so i dont get fed up

Hiya bud that would be great also, i work over norwich at raf Lakenheath alot, im on annual leave atm what part of cambridge are you from? Are you anywhere near stradishal, newmarket as i also work around that area
-
The tax over here is 20% on all goods, no brands were mentioned in that quote however they said they buy the bits in to build the pc so not sure if there good or cheap parts, i havnt told them that im a newbie to pc's so they may be good parts but you will be able to tell me. With regards to the internet conection to the pc, does it need to be hard wired conection? Were on fibre here.... however i have a 6m x 3m man cave in the garden with mains from the house. Ive been made aware that i need a connection bit would a netgear wifi boosted connected to the mains with a network cable linking them then the other netgear booster in the man cave with a network cable from this to the pc work? Apparently they use the mains cable as an internet link. Failing this im going to pay to get a hard wired cable installed

Yeah im guessing i wont hear back until tuesday as tomorrows bank holiday. Ideally i want the cockpit to be sharp realistic and goof frames per second, and clouding and ground to be realistic but im guessing i can adjust settings to suit no matter what?
-
Haha, i really want to get this pc sorted so i can get on dcs, the kit in the quote... when they reply with the kit they will be using ill post it up on here and let me know your thoughts. 1400 quid isnt alot to be fair. A different gaming shop told me i need to spen at least £4,000.00 which put me off for starting up
-
Haha thats a stone throw away ill even collect it haha
-
Ive just sent an email to the shop to see what make and models of these items on the quote are as you stated, you close to birmingam UK and fancy building me a pc lol
-
Yeah makes sense, how much did you guys spend on the gaming pc on its own?
-
Blimey 25gb for just the map. Ok so if i ask them to change the spec in the quote to 64gb, go for a 4080 or a 4090 and keep the rest the same id be looking at a much better system
-
So if i went with that setup quoted would i be able to get a better graphix card to get better frame rates etc? To suit the vr
-
Cheers bud helpful info, but im wondering what kind of internals i need to make dcs smooth opperating as a newbie. Sorry if ive missed this in your link Cheers Arron
