  1. @Alexrey, those 3 items need to be part of the same unit, and not 3 different units.
  2. Fix for DSMS Quick Look bug There is a bug with the training mission where it hangs at the DSMS Quick Look, as Wolf Rider mentions. You can fix it one of 2 ways, on the fly or permanent: 1. On the Fly during the mission: The mission expects BOTH MFCDs to display the DSMS page. When you quick look the DSMS using Coolie Down Long, only the left MFCD displays the DSMS page. I bet you your right one is still on the TGP page. To get the mission to continue, you have to (temporarily) set your right MFCD to display the DSMS page. To do so, on the right MFCD, PRESS AND HOLD OSB-12 (MSG) until DISPLAY PROGRAM appears. Then press OSB-18 (DSMS) once to highlight it, then press OSB-12 (MSG) again (don't hold it this time). All that this does is change OSB-12 function from MSG to DSMS. Now press OSB-12 (DSMS) again on the right MFCD. To display the DSMS page. You can now safely do Coolie Down Long for a few seconds so that the LEFT MFCD displays the DSMS page. As soon as you finish with that command, the mission will proceed. You can, at your discretion, change the OSB-12 function back to MSG, but it's not really needed for this mission. 2. Permanent fix Open the mission file in the Mission Editor page, and go to the "Set rules for trigger" option on the left hand column. Scroll down the triggers until you see the one called "1 ONCE (Quick-look chk)". Click on it, you will see 3 Conditions appear on the center window. You need to DELETE the 3rd condition (the one with MFCD_RIGHT_PAGE), then save the mission. Hope this helps a few. Gopher
  3. LMAO. especially at a full serve station :D
  4. Salut Laurius et bienvenue :)
  5. Snoopy, THANK YOU !!! exactly what I was hoping someone would do. Gopher, 25th VFS.
  6. @slackerd, did u press and hold the TO trim button for a few seconds? if u hold it, it should eventually light up after a few seconds.
  7. RE: communicating with the ground crew, I still don't understand how to communicate with the Intercom panel. I've set the dial switch appropriately (although there's no mark for the dial, it's not easy to see which position it's on), and pressed and depressed the hotmic button, but nothing happens, not even a subtitle. Can someone post the exact procedure?
  8. My question I cannot seem to find an answer for is how do you know what the crew radius is? In another thread is says that is is usually programmed by the mission designers, but in all the SP missions I've flown, I don't see it in the editor. I always try to use the intercom and hotmic but it never works (yes the switches are setup properly as far as I can tell), so I revert to VHF ground crew and it works. Who can help?
  9. Hell yeah F-16 combat pilot !!!! Was hooked from the get-go ! That was an amazing game for the time. Spent countless hours on it.... memories !!!
  10. I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'm 35, have 2 very young kids (2yrs old and 2 months old), and still clock in at least an hour or 2 every day. I've learned so much over the past month, it's finally starting to all come together.
  11. Hey guys, I live in Beirut, Lebanon. I've been itching to fly online and meet some cool people, but it seems I'm getting the shaft because of where I live. So I always revert back to single player. - home DSL connection, I get about 800Kbps download speeds. The problem lies in Lebanon's internet connection to the outside, its pipe being way too small these days. - even though I can get in the Lobby room fine, I get ping times the fastest being 350ms, all the way to 1000ms and beyond. - timezone. GMT+2 makes it a bit difficult to find a good bunch of pple to fly with. It seems I'm the only Lebanese freak that loves flying. Everyone else is out drinking and smoking cigarettes :D Any recommendation of a flying squad close to home (english speaking or french, even) ? I might be asking for much, but it never hurts to try :) K.
  12. Sickdog you rock ! you're Sick. 'nuf said :D THANK YOU.
  13. Calys, it's weird the way you resolved your problem, since your extra step "Set target with TMS UP LONG on target" is the same as the original poster's step "Set SPI with TGP". In essence, you're just doing that command twice. Cheers K.

  15. I finally found out my TIR5 woes. It was because I was using the TrackClip with my old TIR3 hat that has an extra reflective strip for _I think_ vector. I switched to another, plain cap I have and put the TrackClip on there, and oh so magically, everything works perfectly. I thought I'd share that with you guys in case someone else has the same problem. K.
  16. Well I tested the CMS push button and indeed it activates the jammer (goes from STBY to OPR), but the HUD camera bug is still there, no biggie to wait until the final version is released. Back on topic, the rotary zoom assignment with 50% saturation is a great idea, until I get TIR5 working. I'm having a lot of problems with TIR5, I cannot get a good configuration going, unfortunately.
  17. aha :) Just read page 398 of the user's manual and it talks about the CMS switch. Maybe I was trying to press it while JMR was off instead of stdby, which popped the HUD camera instead. Will try testing it out tonight. I'm still trying to get a grasp on the cockpit panels and understand their functionality, and do basic flight maneuvers. Haven't touched a single weapon yet, so it'll be a little while before I read up on radars and evasive maneuvers :)
  18. Frogfoot, is the CMS push mapped to ECM standby/off by default? Because when I press it, I see a weird texture popping right below the tape heading on the HUD, which proceeds to block the tape partially, and there's no way to remove it unless I quit the mission.
  19. yep so far my only extra controls i have mapped are paddle+dms up/down for zoom in/out, and paddle+trim for actual trimming (this will change when I configure the TIR5 i just received, i'll re-map the trim switch to actual trimming w/o a modifier). i'd like to find a good mapping for the CMS push button on the HOTAS joystick, as right now it's mapped to some Z-axis, but I am not sure what it actually does (the CMS up/down/left/right work properly, of course).
  20. Hi gang, I noticed that by default, the wheel on the right side of the TM Warthog throttle is inoperative, since friction is already provided by the wheel at the top of the panel. So my question is, what do you guys have that wheel mapped to, in DCS A-10 ? And do you use any modifiers like the pinky lever to assign to it a 2nd function? Thanks K.
  21. thanks for the replies so far, gents. Mower, great stuff, thanks for the link. That's what I am looking for actually, flexibility without forced number of times, since I travel quite a bit for business. I'll look you up if I decide to join. K.
  22. Hi gang, I am new to the forums, new to online gaming, new to DCS A-10, but not new in the flight sim world (and definitely not new in computers nor gaming). I consider myself intermediate level in both civil and military flight sims, having flown many hours in FSX and past sims, and a over a few in F4AF. I decided to jump to DCS A-10 because it looks extremely realistic, and I am more of an AG than AA person myself. I just received my new HOTAS Warthog, and bought the Saitek pedals. Will be receiving TIR5 in a couple days as well. I fired up DCS A-10 last night for the 1st time, and I have ways to go before I even begin to fully comprehend the aircraft systems and dynamics (obviously WAY different than the F16 in F4AF :) ). My 1st task is to learn start-up. Anyways, to enhance my online experience and my learning skills, I am looking to join a squadron that's laid back, comprised of a tight, fun bunch, willing to trade a few tips and help out new members. I live in Lebanon, GMT+2, and usually can play in the evening and/or nights for a few hours. Internet here is pretty laggy but should be sufficient for its purpose. Can anyone recommend me a squad to begin my online adventure? Thanks Karl
