  1. AFSOC? Nope. Army Spec Ops. (MH-60L's and MH-60K's) I was a civilian contractor for years but my current job is as a Field Service Rep for a certain major Helicopter producing company that shall remain nameless! ;) It's a great job where I get to be around some real Buck Rogers stuff! Good times. Cheers, Chris
  2. Nice pics! I must admit that I'm jealous that you get to be around aircraft like that. Then again, I get to be around MH-60's all week so that's cool too. Where exactly is your work located at? And how long have the Air Force been using those airframes for training? Regards, Chris
  3. Has anyone does this on a Saitek X52? I've been attempting to get the flaps to work with no sucess. Using the SST software, slider to bands. Upper band = CRTL+F (Flaps Up), Middle band = F (Combat flaps), lower band = SHIFT+F (landing flaps) When I go in-game, I can get combat flaps and landing flaps, but when I return to the upper band area, the flap starts to move, but returns to combat flaps position. Also, when I change modes, the flaps will actuate. All modes are programmed the exact same. Any thoughts anyone? (Constructive that is) ;) Thanks, -Chris
  4. I would like to bind flap control to my X52 throttle slider, but it doesn't work quite as I want since "F" toggles Flaps Up/Down. So if "F" toggles flaps up/down and Shift+F = flaps to landing position and Crtl+F = flaps up How about a Alt+F = flaps to combat (or takeoff) position? Then, on a slider programmed with a three band area, one could have the top band = Crtl+F (flaps up), middle band = Alt+F (combat flaps), and lower band = Shift+F (Landing flaps). This way flap positioning is intuitive and a bit more realistic as the lower the slider is moved, the lower the flaps are deployed. Just a thought, and I'm sorry if this subject has been mentioned before. -Chris
  5. Rich, You must be correct! At one point during initial playback I must have bumped a key other than "S" or perhaps my TrackIR did something "hinky". I just ran the track again without touching a darn thing and it works great! Please disregard my entire post except for the Job Well Done bits. S! -Chris
  6. Thanks Ironhand for another amazing piece of work! Please keep them coming! And also thanks to TekaTeka for his help in getting it to run as a normal training mission. Do either of you ever sleep? ;) Now that's out of the way, I wonder what I did wrong to install it. :icon_lol: I did a Loman install with a yellow flag result. I then followed TekaTeka's post in making it a normal training mission. Worked first time go! Sweet! At least I thought it was at first. After takeoff I noticed that I had no HUD indications of: -Navigation Mode -Waypoints / Distances / Desired Airspeed / Desired Altitude -Steering Circle Also the aircraft crashed very soon after demonstrating the Radar Altitude Hold but the sound track (with mouse overlay) continued? Obviously I did something in error. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, -Chris
  7. LOL DedCat! I thought I was pretty clear on my title! ;) I'm with ya brother! -Chris
  8. That may be true...apparently a few of us couldn't find it though. Oh well. Thanks though. -Chris
  9. WooT! A-ha! I've got it! Hopefully you've saved your older folders with Lock On v1.02. I put mine on a DVD, did the v1.1 install thing, and then reinstalled the v1.02 folders to another location. But then if you hit the LockOn.exe, you just get a runtime error. Here is what you do: (assuming you have backed up and reinstalled the v1.02 folders) double click on the "lockon" batch file in the v1.02 \Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On folder. A DOS window will flash for a second and v1.02 will load and play! After quitting that, just create a shortcut on the desktop to the Lock On.exe in that folder. That's it! Works great! I now can play v1.1 or v1.02! Thanks to Alfa for giving me the idea! Hope this works for you! -Chris
  10. Trying to buy a 2nd copy for someone...can't. Same issue. Hope this is fixed by the morning.
  11. Bump for some (detailed) instructions on this. When I try to manually install LOMAC with a version (v1.02 or v1.1) already installed on my system...it just wants to "repair" the current install. Some of us still have wingmen who have not yet (or not going to) purchase Flaming Cliffs. Thanks in advance, -Chris
  12. Is there a way to turn off the kill messages that flash across the top of the screen? Did I just not RTFM close enough? Doing our own BDA is more exciting than having the game tell us whether or not we shacked the target. Just a question. (puts on anti-flame suit just in case though) -Chris
  13. I voted that I payed for it but I ran into copy protection issues. This IS true, but now that WhiskeyRomeo has shown me the way back to Wags/Dmut's post...she's purring like a kitten. Higher FPS and no A-10 GAU-8 stutter! Lovin' it! I could not vote "purring like a kitten" right off the bat, since it took "tech support" from Dmut, to get me going. *shrug* Things can't be easy all the time, can they? ;) -Chris
  14. WR...you are my hero! Yeah, I saw this post, but I guess I didn't "see" it. Had to do it manually using that website. Thanks loads. On one hand, I'm glad that worked. On the other hand, it shouldn't have taken a post from DMUT to make this happen. The activation app itself should have done it. :( My problem is solved. All for now. -Chris
  15. I've checked though the forums and don't see a answer that fits my situation, so here goes: I followed Wags' post and deleted v1.02 and the v1.1 demo and all that stuff. Clean install of v1.0 and then install v1.1. Seems to install fine. Click on the Lock On 1.1 icon and the Starforce thing pops up. I hit automatic and paste in (or type in) my Serial Number. Click activate. Nothing. Just sits there. Window Task Manager says program "not responding". I've let it sit for over an hour and still nothing. I re-ran the v1.1 install. Same result. I re-downloaded the file. Same result. If I click Manual, I click next since the "hardware code" (or whatever that is) is there automatically, paste in the serial number, click activate...nothing. I've turned off my firewall and anti-virus programs just to see if they are the problem. No luck. I really want this to work. I don't believe the anti-SF hype. But... Any help is appreciated. Constructive help that is. ;) -Chris System specs in sig. WinXP Pro w/SP2
  16. Is it ready yet? How about now? Now? Maybe...Now! clickclicklclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick :) -Chris
  17. I'm just counting down the hours until I can plunk my money down on ED's counter! I'm buying it! -Chris
  18. Hmmm...not being able to read Russian (damn that High School spanish!), I found a down-and-dirty translator on the 'net to understand what was being said on the forums linked to in this thread. Here is what CHIZH appears to say: Original: Если серьезно, то релиз ожидается только к концу месяца. Как вам известно у нас возникли проблемы с защитой дисков уже готовых к тиражированию, из-за чего релиз отодвинулся на месяц. Подобную защиту мы применяем впервые поэтому возникновение такого рода проблем не является чем-то удивительным. Translated: If it is serious, the release is expected only by the end of month. As you know we had problems with protection of disks available to duplicating because of what the release was removed for a month. Similar protection we use for the first time therefore such occurrence of problems is not something surprising. ------------------------- So it appears that we may actually have our "unofficial" statement from ED. Thoughts? -Chris P.S. But honestly...I'm not holding my breath. I''d rather have a great product later than a buggy one now. ;)
  19. I've used this guys drivers for quite some time now. They're based on the the authentic Catalyst drivers. No issues. Just performance. http://www.omegadrivers.net/ Good luck, -Chris
