1. Ok, thanks for the tip! I haven't gotten around to starting using the mission editor yet, just the "Mission" option in the Main menu. EDIT: Thanks Purg, that is even easier. I hadn't noticed that you could do that while loading a mission!
2. I had trouble finding any missions for CA too, I had to do a search for mission files on my hard drive. They are located in the DCS World directory under "Mods\tech\CombinedArms\Missions". It seems there are no campaigns, only missions.
3. LOMAC 1.1 manual: http://lockon.co.uk/downloads/documentation/ Training information for the Su-25T: http://lockon.co.uk/flaming_cliffs_2/training/Su-25T.php
4. I will, thanks! By the way, I can't find the FC2 manual anywhere. Is it not available for download? If it's newer then I'd prefer to use that one. UPDATE: Just found this, seems like everything you'll need for learning about the Su-25T: http://lockon.co.uk/flaming_cliffs_2/training/Su-25T.php
5. Ok, I have never played any of the Lock on/Flaming cliffs, and have no idea how they work and are related to each other. So there is no difference between the Flaming Cliffs 2 Frogfoot and the LOMAC 1.1 one?
6. Thanks, I was looking for a manual too. Is there a reason you linked to the LOMAC 1.1 manual? Isn't this Su-25T taken from Flaming Cliffs 2? Wouldn't that manual be more useful?
7. If you have purchased the full game, and can run it outside of DCS World, it should certainly work within World too, regardless of where you originally bought it from. At least that's the impression I've got from the info released so far.
8. Look for "snap views" in the controls, I think that's what they are called. There are several very useful views here, for getting a better look at the cockpit instruments, the MFCD:s, and some other views.
9. Yes, everyone who wants a boring F/A-18: stop breathing immediately, all of you!!! :smilewink:
10. That's your opinion. And there are plenty of other options than DCS if that's enough for you. But I'd rather have one "crazy detailed" aircraft than a dozen that are less well done.
11. You are both wrong, in the order of greatness the list of the "Big Four" is: 1. F-15 2. F-14 3. F-16 4. F-18 :music_whistling:
12. It's been mentioned and linked to before in this thread, you can search for it if you want to.
13. An AC-130 would be awesome, but I doubt we'll se that anytime soon. :)
14. Also, I'm pretty sure someone at ED said "fixed wing fighter" at one point.
15. I solved it by reprogramming a button on my mouse to output the assigned keyboard control when it's pressed. But that only works if you have a reprogrammable mouse.
16. Why would anyone want a printed manual that will be outdated at the next update? I haven't had A-10C for very long, but I think the pdf manual has been updated at least 2 or 3 times since I got it. Get an e-book reader that can handle pdf:s if you want to read the manual away from the computer. :)
17. Read the "title" of the post. I don't know why that function exists really, most people don't use it and they are easily missed. Anyway, he was not asking what those things are, but about the "Ground unit engagement ranges" for them. I guess that means at what ranges they will open fire on enemy ground units, and what targets they will attack first?
18. I don't remember where it came from, but it's been discussed previously in this thread. Someone who knows explicitly said (or wrote) "fighter".
19. In before everyone else... No, it's been stated that the next aircraft will be a very popular US fixed wing fighter.
20. Arma 2 has a much smaller scale than a flight simulator. The benefit, of course, is that you can manage better graphics and effects. But this is also why you will see nothing but fog if you fly higher than some hundreds of meters with an aircraft in Arma 2. Trying to put that kind of graphics into a DCS game, with vastly larger scale and viewing distances, would mean you'd need a super computer to run it. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be nice if the explosions were improved, if possible, but don't compare the graphics of a flight simulator to that of an FPS/soldier sim.
21. This problem is because they really don't mean "press space". They mean "press the control assigned to the gun trigger". As default, space is assigned to the gun trigger, but if you have reassigned this, space will not work. BTW, this has already been discussed in other threads, like this one: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=81818
22. So you know that the reason for the information being withheld is that the type of aircraft is not locked down 100% yet? When did they say that? All I've seen on this is basically "no comment". I'm convinced that they have a very good reason for not releasing information on the type of aircraft yet, and the point I was trying to make is that if they'd just share this reason people would understand, and a major source of frustration would be eliminated. And that whole discussion a few pages back would have been unnecessary.
23. I have been following this discussion, and this is exactly the problem. All this could have been easily avoided if we were just told why we can't be told yet what the next aircraft will be. Is it a legal thing with a contract? Some technical issues that needs to be further looked into? Is the exact aircraft or version not 100% locked down yet? If we knew why the information is being withheld, we would understand. This "we're not going to say anything" response is just frustrating and annoying.
24. Ok, thanks. For a while there, I was hoping this could be used to get away from the feets and knots and get some useful metric values on the HUD. Too bad.
25. About the IFFCC and the metric setting. The flight manual says: METRIC. Select Y to display HUD data values in Metric. Select N to display in imperial values. Exactly what data values on the HUD are displayed in metric? Only distances, or speed and altitude too?
