  1. It's 210 knots, and here's why it's important: http://kriegsimulation.blogspot.com/2011/01/dcs-10c-warthog-210-kias-speed-to.html
  2. Better than having to use a calculator every time you look at the gauges.
  3. Yes, totally agree. You should be able to choose what system to use, and then EVERYTHING (including cockpit gauges) should be using that system.
  4. You seem to have totally missed the point of DCS. It is to take all the detailed specifications and information about a combat aircraft and recreate it in an extremely detailed simulation. That's quite hard to do with something that has never existed, right?
  5. They have also said it's going to be a "fighter". That interview was linked to just recently in this thread.
  6. "Fixed wing fighter", that narrows it down a bit more from the previous statement "very popular fixed wing aircraft". Rules out bombers and so on.
  7. Are there even any dedicated air-to-air aircraft anymore? Seems like even previous air-to-air fighters like the F-14 and F-15 are dropping bombs now. Maybe the Mig-31 is still air-to-air only?
  8. I don't see why they need to keep it secret. If they have already started working on the next module, why not just tell us what aircraft it is?
  9. There's a way to switch between mouse look and pressing buttons with the mouse. I have it remapped to a button on my joystick, but I think the default is LeftAlt+C or something. You need to switch between these modes to be able to look around with the mouse (and zoom with the mousewheel), and then using the mouse to press buttons.
  10. There has been nothing mentioned of the next module being a multi role aircraft. Only that it will be a "very popular" American fixed wing aircraft.
  11. I think the F-117 would just be boring. Nothing new, just another close air support/attack aircraft, only with less weapons and not even a gun. EDIT: I do agree that the F-117 is an awesome and interresting aircraft, but that is not enough to make a good game that will be fun to play. Variety is the key to that, we've done the CAS mission now with both BS and A-10C, an aircraft with another type of mission too (air-to-air, dogfighting or something) will be needed to keep the DCS series interresting and fun.
  12. "when they will say what next DCS will be" Clearly, it's about when they will reveal what the next aircraft will be. That's a good question, I'm sure we're all very curious about that. Even if we're still going to have to wait a long, long time until we can actually fly it. :pilotfly:
  13. Then maybe you need to read the question again.
  14. Where in that article does it say when they will tell us what the next aircraft will be?
  15. I was hoping for a non-american aircraft next. It's a pain to have to use a calculator just to be able to read the gauges. The absolute best would of course be if it was possible to choose between a metric and an imperial cockpit, regardless of where the aircraft comes from.
  16. Ok, thanks for the help!!
  17. Hi, I'm new to this game, and pretty new to flight simulators (except for some time with IL-2 Sturmovik 1946). I was wondering how best to use the controls (I don't have track-IR). Is there a way to fly only with the joystick (and keyboard), or do you always need to let go of the stick and use the mouse to press buttons? Seems quite hard to do that while fighting and turning. Or do you always stabilize the aircraft first and fly straight and level before using the mouse to flip switches?
