  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma --> Common plasmas ---> Flames (ie. fire) and for the microwave... http://apache.airnet.com.au/~fastinfo/microwave/ball.html http://van.hep.uiuc.edu/van/qa/section/Everything_Else/Microwave_Ovens/20021010223728.htm Even I don't really know anything about it, after 5 minutes of using google i wonder if the so called: Incoherent scatter effect has anything to do with it...
  2. Absolutly fantastic Job: T-Bone, Glowing_AMRAAM, D-scythe, Armadillo, Dusty, Greg and Wyn Really awesome... Even i haven't seen it yet i must assume it's of superb quality. I've watched a few of glowing amraam's movies and if the BSO will manage to get me anywhere near to the kind of immersion and authenticity that I feel while watching, it will be fantastic... Thanks for the story, thanks for the atmosphere, thanks for the missions, thanks for giving it a sensible plot and thanks for putting it all together !!! few things i'd like to see (maybe in the future)... A Sukhoi adventure that makes sense... I've also been flying falcon. Starting with micropose f-16 falcon and f-16 combat pilot on the amiga (the latter already with an awesome dynamic campaign) and afterwards mac falcon4 with my voodoo2 card on my macintosh (Thrustmaster Mark1)... and believe me or not, one reason I started lockon, besides the graphics and the flight models, is the simple reason I'm fed up with american avionics, simulations and scenarios even though russia and ukraine remains a new theatre... Make a new story once you're finished and your nerves still sane and give us the same immersion from the russian POV... I'd love it even more... Thanks again and keep it up... regards Zillion
  3. :| looks like this version is seriously ***** up ... :/ will take the download down again... sorry to everyone who might be waiting...
  4. I still didn't finish the Admin Tool... Release Candidate 2 Changes: -fixed AWACS Planes and detection. Changed the max range to 350km consistent with the tested LockOn Range (320km) -Changed the runway drawing algo (++performance) -When using Radar Support the Client now starts with a black screen and fades in after after a couple of seconds... This prevents the the controller from seeing what he's not supposed to see... -Fighting with the Admin tool... :) Currently Password, Admin password, Kick and FreeMode lock can be used aswell as displaying controller Radars... Changing Airport Radar Range might work, might not... download >>>HERE<<< This version is still not final, work in progress have fun
  5. make sure to use flash player 8 only...
  6. Hi berkoutskaia, :) good observations. I'm still working on the admin panel and yes, the A-50, E-2C and E-3A are not working correctly in the 0.99 version. They are already fixed and will be in the next version. I'm always helplessly underestimating the amount of time it takes... BUT again, I plan to finish version 1.00 until next week... :icon_jook Just came back from Hamburg today, will go to Karlsruhe for Christmas. I lived in Karlsruhe-Rüppur for 9 years... Nächste version also spätestens am Sonntag. Hier gibt's die ganze enstehungs Geschichte auch nochmal auf deutsch wenns dich interessiert... http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1882&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 später... 7. Version 0.99 is up for download >>>HERE<<< There is also a complete package containing java runtime environment, Flash Installer and Loman >>>HERE COMPLETE<<< This version is not final, work is still in progress have fun
  8. it's quite sad in fact... but until now without proper understanding of the file formats and the required converters I think it will be nearly impossible. Making the terrain itself would not be so hard with all free GIS software around and if there would be an open directory structure of all scenery props (buildings, roads, rail lines, power lines, trees) you could with a few talented friends make one theoretically. I already have the height data, all rivers, lakes, roads, rail lines for the kaukasus area downloaded from various sources. You can look at the GIS data Depot under transport for west russia and for height maps you can look at the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission files or directly via ftp... Then you will need to export those geotiffs and vector based shape files. I really like Microdem (the official Hompage seems to be down for some reason) and Global Mapper (Not freeware) for viewing, exporting, downscaling and adjusting your data... Unfortunatly you can not simply import all of that to 3dsmax or maya, send it to Eagle Dynamics (and pray) because much of the lomac world is not made from a huge scene file but rather "created" from the relatively small data files and put into the world by means of programming or scripting... So, again without knowledge of how things are in LockOn, you won't get very far... What you could do is query Eagle Dynmics by email until they give in, explain some of their technologies and name some of their used programs so you can start to get a grasp of whats going on when the loading screen appears before entering a mission and ultimatly how to convert and save your files... If you can get any information from Ealge Dynamics let us know... regards zillion
  9. The ATC Client is open again with a new password: atcclient All Pilots who connect to the Client and simultaneously connect to Game Server are automatically kicked and logged... :) This is done by reading the AsyncNet.log file which resides in Lockon/temp/AsyncNet.log... There are still a few bugs and the admin tool still unfinished but I'm optimistic the new version will available for download end of the week, so i can start with the mission editor... http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/atc/ATC_100.swf have fun...
  10. yes, seems like we are not communicating very well indeed. But great idea, I never thought about that, why not make one using the mission editor ? Anyway, hope you will be lucky and successfull in whatever you are trying to do... regards Zillion
  11. well... anyway all i would need is a good template mission... The root of all missions the editor should create... All I want is to find an automation to editing the waypoints and starting positions, converting the XZ positions from pixel coordinates on a clickable map so they are conform to real life navaids and fixes and writing an edited copy... no need to copy wrappers around... PS: Even 33| 309th_Hedgehog only wanted to create a flight plan app, from what i know from our forum, he would also be glad to have such a tool... Maybe it would also be possible to position su33's correctly on the carrier and use the same waypoints for multiple planes... If anyone wants help us feel welcome... :)
  12. that's strange... because i copied the ole wrapper of a big mission (30+ units) with a hex editor to a quite empty mission (6 planes, no waypoints) and it still worked... The header seems to work on all missions i apply it to so far... Edit2: Correction it doesn't work on all missions... but quite a few... i linked the the 3 examples here: >>>MISSION<<< As you can see, the -original_header.mis is 46.836 Bytes -target_original.mis is 45.056 Bytes and the -new_working.mis is also 45.056 Bytes and working even the "header" or "wrapper" comes from a larger mission file...
  13. Because of the abuse of the ATC-Tool, i have decided to change the password again until the admin tool is working properly.... sorry folks... No flying with map view...
  14. aehmmm... GGTharos... could you provide us with some more information about this object linking and embedding technology... we are so helplessly surrendered to general google research that we do not quite know where to start... any help appreciated... zillion edit: I'm trying to make a mission editor that snaps waypoints to the navaids and fixes that i added to my atc tool and exports a kneeboard texture which lists them falcon4 style...
  15. Flash Player 8 required !! Update and download will be coming... I have been very busy lately... Until then everyone is invited to the JaBoG-Server if it's public in the Hyper Lobby.. The link hasn't changed... http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/atc/ATC_100.swf password: laikastyle
  16. - removed and optimized a lot of code (while being drunk @ 4 in the morning) - fixed another follow up bug that caused a major lag in the beginning... - radar altitudes will need some fine tuning to assure the airport radars to actually see planes on the apron... will start making the admin panel now. @GGTharos Thx ! @Gronyi 1.0 will take another few weeks. @Kenan It's a standalone app that recieves the data through the export.lua...
  17. version1.0 Update... The height map is included and working fine. It's based on a 810x810 meter grid that resides completly in memory... :). It resembles exactly what can be seen below and makes it possible to hide in the mountains from selectable and destroyable ground and non destroyable airport radars: types[3]="-1L13 EWR with a detection Range of 300 km\n" types[4]="-55G6 EWR with a detection Range of 300 km\n" types[5]="-S300PS 64H6E with a detection Range of 180 km\n" types[6]="-Patriot STR with a detection Range of 170 km\n" types[7]="-S300PS 40B6M TR with a detection Range of 160 km\n" types[8]="-S300PS 40B6MD with a detection Range of 120 km\n" types[9]="-9S117M1(Buk Search Radar) with a detection Range of 100 km\n" types[10]="-Hawk TR with a detection Range of 90 km\n" types[11]="-Hawk SR with a detection Range of 90 km\n" types[12]="-Kub STR with a detection Range of 75 km\n" types[13]="-9S86(Dog Ear Radar) with a detection Range of 35 km\n" types[14]="-Roland Radar with a detection Range of 35 km\n" types[15]="-Osa 9A33LN with a detection Range of 30 km\n" Standart Airport Radar "-RLS PRW-37 with a detection Range of 100 km Because the RLS PRW-37 Radar can not be destroyed you can to skip the selection of the airport radar. Note that radars will not see anything as long as the contacts are below the radar horizon or not in line of sight. Until now it's installed on our dedicated server and can be accessed by pressing the link. By pressing connect without typing any IP, it automatically connects to our radar server. http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/atc/ATC_100.swf With the coming downloadable update there will be an admin panel for configuring and locking the join options, kicking controllers and setting a password. Additionally there will be a client Bullseye tool for the second monitor that connects to the internal Bullseye. All Airports, taxiway and aprons are now included. Many new functions for the ruler can be activated by mouse over on target plus the following keyboard keys: "R" - Range/Bearing Line from a static to another static point on the map "B" - Bullseye Range/Bearing Line from Bullseye to dynamic contact. "1,2" - Dynamic to dynamic contact Range/Bearing Line "Backspace" - Declutter Labels Display Options: -Coastline -Bullseye -10Nm Final approach dashed lines -Height Map -Current Position in WGS84 lat, long and UTM Zone + Easting/Northing Driver: GTiff/GeoTIFF Size is 1070, 596 Coordinate System is: PROJCS["WGS 84 / UTM zone 36N", GEOGCS["WGS 84", DATUM["WGS_1984", SPHEROID["WGS 84",6378137,298.2572235630016, AUTHORITY["EPSG","7030"]], AUTHORITY["EPSG","6326"]], PRIMEM["Greenwich",0], UNIT["degree",0.0174532925199433], AUTHORITY["EPSG","4326"]], PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"], PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",0], PARAMETER["central_meridian",33], PARAMETER["scale_factor",0.9996], PARAMETER["false_easting",500000], PARAMETER["false_northing",0], UNIT["metre",1, AUTHORITY["EPSG","9001"]], AUTHORITY["EPSG","32636"]] Origin = (427680.000000,5155650.000164) Pixel Size = (810.00000000,-810.00000000) Metadata: AREA_OR_POINT=Point Corner Coordinates: Upper Left ( 427680.000, 5155650.000) ( 32d 3'23.84"E, 46d33'1.90"N) Lower Left ( 427680.000, 4672890.000) ( 32d 7'26.20"E, 42d12'17.38"N) Upper Right ( 1294380.000, 5155650.000) ( 43d16'40.74"E, 46d 5'23.98"N) Lower Right ( 1294380.000, 4672890.000) ( 42d33'30.34"E, 41d48'30.08"N) Center ( 861030.000, 4914270.000) ( 37d31'30.74"E, 44d17'31.14"N) Band 1 Block=1070x2 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Red Band 2 Block=1070x2 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Green Band 3 Block=1070x2 Type=Byte, ColorInterp=Blue Screen Pixels: 1051 x 521 Screen pixel size: 810 m 100% of points on map DEM=LOCKON_SUBSET_UTM810 size: 1051x522 z range: -34 to 5533 m 2-byte int , Elev units: meters space: 810x810 m UTM grid (zone 36) north at top of map Display Datum: WORLD GEODETIC SYSTEM, 1984 DEM native datum: WGS84 Magnetic declination: 5.9° UTM Grid declination: 3.6° Work is still in progress :)
  18. didn't know that... well it was definitly never a problem on our dedi server because the export was constantly running since may 2005 :) Since many from my squad have asked me about it, I will connect the ATC tool's internal bullseye function to a small tool of our own for each client with a second monitor and/or computer. Will take some time though + we wont have no fancy LCD display support :( good work fox
  19. dont give us more info... it would mean so much work for me trying to implement it.... :) btw. I got my radar line of sight ready... :) It's an 810x810 meters grid. Not as fine as brothers but definitly enough. http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/atc/ATC_100.swf update is on its way, together with server admin panel for setting allowed join options and kick function. I would love to see radar cross-sections being exported aswell as true UTM coordinates for saving performance. or alternatively to make even more of my work useless i would love to have exported what each radar can and what it can not see. :) later zillion
  20. can you explain that. Are you saying that if you turn off the export on the server side, the clients can export the data for other players ? ???? dont get it.... zillion
  21. damnit, i hope u dont mean my atc tool... server export can be turned on and off only by the server AFAIK, since i haven't read the whole thread, correct me if I'm wrong... Clients can only export local instrument data and stuff like that... again correct me if i'm wrong... zillion
  22. WGS84 < > UTM sry for flooding and hijacking this thread.... finally i found some functions that do the trick for me... :) WGS842UTM.txt
  23. lockOn XZ to Real UTM Man my head is smoking... I have always been using the formula I got from Valery... Which converts me my lat/long to whatever LockOn is using as XZ coordinates. It works perfectly and precise for plotting positions on my map. These coordinates are however not UTM. So if i want to compare coordinates from lockon with UTM coordinates from my Height map the results of the following formula are somehow useless. http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=7358 All i know is that they start (0/0) somewhere near Simferopol which is @lat: 45°07"18'N long: 34°16"16'E or @ Northing: 4997282.00 Easting: 599989.70 Zone 36T in REAL UTM. So I thought I might just take (lockonX - Real_Northing) and (lockonZ - Real_Easting) .... As one can see in the varying difference this unfortunately doesn't work either. So what i search for is a way to convert lockon X/Z or lat/long to real UTM coordinates. I know that Brothers31 uses some program called UTM Zone. My Questions: when crossing two zones for example 36 to 37 the coordinates start again for that respective zone ie: lat:45,00N/long:35.99 ---> N:4987300.50/E:735658.00 Zone36T lat:45,00N/long:36.00 ---> N:4987329.50/E:263553.97 Zone37T This means inside one zone the numbers are linear, but when crossing a zone the numbers are reset. And that again means meaningful conversion should be centred in one Zone and extending from there even after passing into another... Is that how you calculate Brothers31 ? Can you supply me with a link for the source code of UTM Zone, or even better a simplified one without all the unimportant reference ellipsoids and exotic grids that i will never use ? What i will need is simply WGS-84 lat/long to UTM thx in advance. Zillion PS: I Should have started with real maps and real UTM coordinates in the first place... :(
  24. mhh... is that the graham algo for making the line ? ( y = ax+b) wots a and b ? Well... my height data is 23.3 MB in ASCII (3/4 million lines with UTM coordinates and height in meters) I can up and downscale it as much as I want but I thought 500 m x 500 m Grid prescision should be the lowest. Looks like I have to rethink ... Currently I'm trying to get it into a database, unfortunately flash is striking and keeps crashing when trying to do that. I need to learn C++ ... desperatly I use MicroDEM and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission - SRTM data. - http://srtm.csi.cgiar.org/SELECTION/inputCoord.asp - ftp://e0mss21u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/ My idea was using the graham scan algo for making the line like a staircase from Radar to plane and then checking if any point on that line is lower than the height in the coresponding position on my DEM data... Same as u I guess. :) I need to contact u on icq or whatever u have. I have a good french speaking informatics student as a translater, if u prefer. Hope it works out... Thanks a lot for your information... regards Zillion edit: Does that mean your map has 3986444 (4Million) covered points with their respective altitude ? Like an array of 4 Million X + 4 Million Y + 4 Million Z floats ? How on earth is that computable ?
