DCS: Kola map by Orbx in Early Access available now!

I tried setting all packages to client but the non used packages will not spawn and they're all required for the skirmish to work. -

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3337329/ Border Skirmish in the outskirts of Kovdor as promised. If anyone who is more familiar with the ME, please feel free to edit or add to this mission, I've setup to start in the Mi-24P, so you'll have to use the ME to change the flight package, I couldn't get it to work any other way. -

Toxic griping seems to be the complaint du jour for gamers especially when it comes to the AAA gaming industry which took a beating after years of piss poor bug ridden release after release (Bathesda anyone?). DCS has unique issues due to the age of the game engine. ED made it clear after the 2.9 update that they couldn't commit time to fixing current modules when they'd all break again anyway with the push for Vulkan. Now they have successfully separated the CPU and GPU tasks they will be able to commit to those fixes. Super Carrier is due, I'm guessing they pushed it back till May now the Phantom has a hard release date of May 21st, I would hope the new rain and vapor effects will come with the next update along with SC and F4E, the Air Warfare Group made a video on the SC update and it's imminent release, it's due now. My advice is stay away from places like Reddit, it's an environment where negativity thrives, delete as much social media as you can, my mental health improved drastically after doing so. I've been Facebook, Twitter and IG free for 4 years now, I don't miss any of it and it sounds like it's way worse now than when I left. -

Apparently some people are still intimidated by the mission creator and even the fast mission generator. So, I'm in the process of populating the airfields in Sweden, Finland and Russia for a border skirmish outside Kovdor. I'm using cold war assets only with one exception, I've put Finland on team blue as opposed to being neutral. Red - Mig-29A, SU-25, Mi-24P. Blue - AJS-37, A-10A, F-15C If anyone has any requests for other airframes that flew during the cold war please let me know and I'll add tasks before I upload it. -

There's already plenty filled in near Murmansk to make for some great cross boarder skirmishes. Visually they've raised the bar in a few areas and the performance is decent especially considering the level of detail in the towns. More maps and more rotors incoming, what a time to be alive. -

I gave in to FOMO, I flew my Hind on my usual settings, Slartibartfast approves, lovely crinkly edges, he won an award you know. -

Unfortunately not true in Rotors, they've mostly fixed the inhabited areas, but now the mountains can create a slideshow at low altitude, some of the texture meshes are broke too. If you fly fixed wings it's mostly fine. It's a massive drop off below a certain altitude, seems to be mountains that are the main issue now but it makes the map very unenjoyable in rotors. -

You just paraphrased what I said, that's precisely why we're all owed anything. -

You may want to review your user agreement, you don't own anything, you purchased a license which entitles you to use ED's IP, in no way have you "invested" in the company, it's clearly laid out in the terms of agreement that you have to accept before making a purchase along with them not paying lip service to anyone with "specific" demands of what they expect from ED. READ YOUR CONTRACTS. -

I had tried most of those things but maybe not all together, hmmmmmmm, I see version 11 is live finally with full support for 2.9 so I grabbed that. Right so I implemented most of those tweaks and setup Golan Heights with Syria as team blue and inverted map which never used to work properly and it actually worked! Not only that but I'm being offered frontline CAS missions for the Hind out of Damascus which is perfect. Can't actually fly properly right now as only half of my new setup arrived, pedals arrive next week so it'll give me some time to tinker with Liberation. Thanks for the heads up. -

Would you prefer I use the term flawed? Both have issues one being the inability to assign individual callsigns, there was a workaround but that no longer works. And the other is completely incapable of populating the campaign without nothing going on or every slot at every airfield being populated rendering it unplayable. I try again with every update because I really want it to work, but so far no joy. -

Regarding Liberation and Retribution, they're pretty much broken right now unless you want to design your own campaign, then it gets tedious. Briefing Room has been a lot of fun as you can constrain the parameters to meet your exact requirements, this is much easier than for example trying to shoe horn a Mi24p into a pre designed campaign. I am personally very excited by the dynamic campaign engine being in development as I gave up on Falcon 4 way before BMS took it over so the campaign was still broken. There are so many more moving parts in DCS and that's likely to become more convoluted with the Super Carrier update and I wouldn't be surprised if Combined Arms becomes way more relevant in the near future. I find it hard to believe that anyone could get bored of DCS because they've mastered every aspect of it, but that's just my two cents, other opinions are available. -
I own 2 of the 3 modules and I respectfully disagree with you legally as someone who deals with contracts all the time, but you're "entitled" to your own opinion which is clearly tainted if you feel the need to use 3 exclamation marks. Exactly, I beta test audio software for that very specific reason.

First off I live by rotor, I own most of the top modules as they're more of an extension of Airfix models that I and I'm sure many older users made when we were kids, I never dreamt I'd actually be able to fly them, so as someone in their mid 50 DCS is a dream come true, but it's rotors most days and mostly the Hind, the Apache great though it is is too "digital" for me, it's a death machine that does all the calculus for you, and killing is the least important aspect of flying for me, so the Chinook is very much in my wheel house. I will be putting money down on the pre-order for the Chinook, this seems to be quite a divisive thing which is baffling as nobody is forcing early access on you. You can wait until it's "officially" released if it causes your piss to turn to vinegar, but we all know the FOMO would drive you crackers, so just deal with it, stop making it ED's problem, it's yours, pick your poison and get on with it, I'd much rather be given the option than having to wait 2 years or more for a new module. I'd also like to show some support for ED with regard to THESPAT, I know BN wants us to stay on topic but as someone who has run his own business or been self employed for 30+ years, disputes happen between vendors and clients all the time, we only know about this because of THESPAT, their actions were unprofessional, these matters are often legally bound to stay private (make sure to read your contract), because pubic spats can end in libelous accusations which can destroy even the most robust business relationship. This actually has nothing to do with us until we get officially notified by ED. THESPAT has potentially damaged the vendor's name, other companies will see that and question their integrity, like it or not that's just how the real world works, self entitlement doesn't butter any parsnips when it comes to business, something many users apparently do not understand. Thank you ED for making my dreams come true.

I thought I'd give some performance feedback as I'm a minority Radeon user. I have a SFF MINISFORUM HX99G, Ryzen 9 6900HX, 64gb RAM, RX 6600M GPU, Crucial T500 1tb 4x4 gen, for DCS only. As DCS is currently using only FSR 1 I decided to test RSR in the latest drivers as I can force frame generation on with this unit, sure enough I was able to run FSR and RSR and get the same framerate but with way better scaling quality, but it appears they conflict sometimes. I also went sightseeing in Incirlik in my Black Shark to see if the Mosque would be a framerate killer as per usual or if the update really did help in built up areas, crikey! The Crucial SSD was a recent purchase as it's designed for media and gaming, that amplified the new texture pipeline, it's vastly improved for me. My only request is less tracing but I'm sure that will come eventually. Thanks for the hard work.

I'm glad to say the performance issues appear to have largely been fixed, I'd love to have something to do in my Hind and can help with textures if anyone is good at mission design?

It's amazing to see the actual processes involved not to mention a willingness to share such info, I'm guessing "moments" that are converted to dimensionless coefficients are the "look up tables"? I wonder if we'll ever have enough compute power for bottom up circuit modelled flight sims or are we consigned to a top down process? Due to the sheer amount of calculus involved with circuit modelling will we always be beholden to the resolution limit of the tables themselves?

That a standard stencil font, you'll find tons of free versions of that on font sites.

This is a tribute to one of the greatest artists to have ever lived, he is solely responsible for comic books and manga art, literally hundreds of years before anyone else. This is going to be tricky to line up but the bulk of the work is done, I expect to finish this before NYE.

Hi, if you have some images I can work with I should be able to do that for you, I just bought the module and have the template and know how they work.
