Thanks, I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Yeh I found the fix but thanks anyway, same here CAM is fine but someone reported issues, possibly a misidentification, we've all done it, at least I have.
-
I'm seeing reports of nerfed framerates but I was seeing higher, at least until I ran a Bodo replay and found it was actually nerfed, so I investigated and found that the LOD slider now has a huge impact on FPS, it would appear that 0.7 is the new 1.0. On a different note, the new canopy rain droplets in my hind are mesmerizing.

Some mods were broke by the update, VPC and possibly CAM.

I have other things to worry about, like my mum dying of kidney disease, so I'll be the judge of what upsets me thanks. Enjoy your paddling pool.

I'm getting insanely good FPS on Afghanistan, seems very consistent, I've only got an RX 6600M so it must be something specific to the 4080 or NVIDIA as a whole? Would be interesting to know if it's specific to certain configs. Also on on Ryzen 9 6900, I wonder if the issues are intel specific as there are the as of yet unresolved issues with gen 13 and 14.

The solution is so simple for you, don't buy EA, why do you insist on making life so miserable for yourself if you know you're going to be pissed off with whatever you're given? Go outside, smell the flowers, we've only got a few years left before our elected idiots destroy everything anyway, this is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, there are WAY more important things going on in the world right now to get worked up over, WAY WAY more important things.

ED should ban whingers from purchasing EA. It's the equivalent of being allergic to peanuts, eating peanuts and then blaming the manufacturer for making you sick.
-
Totally agree, it's EA so it's bound to be flawed, seems daft putting money down for EA and expecting a finished product, but ya know, some people were born to whinge.

I figured one of the mods was as most of my static templates for Kola are broke.

Authorization failed after latest patch

Same here, I bought the F-15C separately before buying FC3 and I also got the SU-33 with the Super Carrier module, both are showing, the other 4 fail authentication. -
Thanks BN, big love.

+1 for team it's not a big deal but we really appreciate the update.

The updates look amazing and well worth the wait, very pleased to see the Dome of the Rock amongst the landmark buildings and the updates to the Giza plateau, and Petra at some point too. Was interesting to read that new TDKs have to be developed for some of the new rock formations, I guess that's why Petra has to wait. This area of the world has an incredibly rich history and was not represented (understandably) in it's full glory in early access.

Page 7 tells you all you need to know about Rotors, they are dangerous to fly, human error is the single biggest cause of rotor accidents, VRS is a real issue and there was at least one attempt to ban rotors completely at least in the US, circa 1950 IIRC. I still run out of pedal flying the Hind for around 10 months, these things want to kill you. https://www.h-a-c.ca/IHSS_Helicopter_Safety_History_05.pdf You should try desaturating your joy axis if small movements cause you to stall so easily.

need track replay Apache falls from the sky like a ton of bricks...
T.Power replied to AndreNL's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'll throw my two cents in as someone who recently upgraded from a X52 to a full Winwing setup with pedals. I own all the rotor modules aside from the Kiowa, I mostly fly the Hind which has it's own quirks and nuances, but I fly them all periodically to remind myself of the differences. The Apache is a very odd machine, as someone else pointed out it's a truck not a sportscar, and I really do feel that the Apache suffers from feeling like it's actually a sportscar to the point I used to have my axes with saturation set at 20 and I used the trimmer all the sodding time. Desaturating the Joy axes really helped me learn to fly it like a truck, then I used autopilot modes to help transition and landing, because when VRS sets in with the Apache, it appears nigh on impossible to stop it. Rotors really do benefit from longer sticks with dampers and soft springs. -
They're very challenging even with a decent HOTAS and pedal setup. After hours of focusing on Helos, my respect for real world rotor pilots has roofed, these things are insanely dangerous to fly!

Stanlesuper's LUT creates some very odd lighting in the Hind at night unfortunately, it's not useable.

Only if you over do it, part of the issue is that there's not enough contrast in the standard settings, if you fix the contrast you must desaturate to compensate, as a trained graphic designer my eyes see the issue right across the palette, if you start tweaking individual objects you'll likely make a mess, adjustment layers are last in the chain (mostly). You can easily fix with this Reshade with zero hit to performance by using curves plus either saturation control or technicolour which is desaturation plus a tint which if used sparingly can be quite effective. Curves gives you individual luma and chroma control, you can use either or both, that's personal preference but you can control bloom and crush blacks at the same time. Does anyone know how accurate their monitors are? What's the Delta etc? Seriously just use the adjustment layer, if you mess up it'll be a lot easier to rectify and you can do that on the fly. After some fiddling Levels and Vibrance combined are the best solution due to better bloom control.

Update of 22nd May - good to see some performance enhancements
T.Power replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in South Atlantic
I'll 3rd that, it would appear after my initial reccy in my Hind that the extreme FPS drop issue has been addressed. New texture maps also generally look a lot better although I am seeing an underlying crosshatch pattern in one area I'm currently playing in. -
Thank you! That's exactly the kind of data I needed, I'm an audio engineer by trade so I like to understand everything from a bottom up perspective, the reductionist perspective.
-
There must be plots of the engine torque curves, that's useful information, it should be calculable, I can fly the Hind just fine now, I want data.
