Changing the Cockpit field of view
oxking replied to oxking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Than the readmy lies?! Its in snapvies.lua and not in the view.lua? Hmm... i will try this. Thanks. -
I want to change the Cockpit field of view, so i can see the entire RWR Panel in the Mig29, when i have pressed the center view button on my joystick. In 1.1 is the "Angle ov View" option no longer in the cockpit settings screen, under the game options. The 1.1 Readmy says: "Cockpit field of view (FOV) angles can be adjusted in the file Config/View/View.lua" But i can`t find the line where i should enter my desired FOV value.... :( An i have another question: It is possible to set the "default center" so, that when i only push the "center view" button on my joystick deeper in my cockpit, so that i might see the RWR Panel, even if my "View Angle" is the same as default? Thank you for your help. ;)

yeah, its a shame this bug is also present in 1.1 again....
-
Right now in Multiplayer: Ive landed my MIG29C, refuel and rearm on the runway, start again, then 30 sec. in the air a beeping noise apeard, like the one you get when you landing. But that f**kin noise goes on and on, and went me nearly crazy! Shift + N dont worked. My Gear and Flaps was in. I sowed down above 500 kmh, and put them out and in again, but the beeping noise was still there.....

Movie Pack is bigger than the movies?!
oxking replied to oxking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Oh, ok, thanks. :) I guess that videos would start in LockOn if i play the campain, do they? -
Hi, why is the moviepack 290MB large, but the 5 Movies i found in my "Lock On/Movie" folder are only 153MB smal?!
-
Well i still think copyprotection is useless anyway, but for lockon maybe i could life with an simple one, which makes no problems. But i think i will waite a few days after the release, and watch the forums for users my reporting trouble with that. But when ED ater all may decide to still use SF, i still dont buy it. I hope one day an real "breakthrough-blockbuste-game" will abandon on copy-protection, and still braking sell records as well. Then this copyprotection spook hopefully will end. (At the musikmarket in Germany good bands are No.1 as well in Albumcharts, and have no protection on their CDs.) But thank you Mr. Wagner, now i can cautiously hope again to buy 1.1. 8)

1.1 will surely available over bittorrent, with or without copy protection. Thats my point! Why hurt the customers with copyprotection crap, when its useless anyway? And downloaders have no problems with copyprotection, because it will disabled by an crack. But paying customers will maybe have. And rather i think, Starforce for an so specialinterest Addon is like fireing with Cannons at sparrows.
-
I do not buy it. I want that this crap with the copyprotections stops! Copy protection is useless. Look at eMule, Bittorrent, IRC or somewhere. Why i as a money spending customer will be irritated by an copyprotection, what not protect the game from beeing illegal spreaded over the internet? If a company imputes me making illegal copys, and try to prevent me from that, well, maybe i should do that! Protection only restricts my rights to do with the stuff i paid for whatever i will. And why should i pay for that? No, Companys want my money, but when they dont trust me, i will spend it to another one. I Would love to give ED my Money for this gread Sim, and support the development of further updates and addons, but i beeing verry upset of that copyprotection, what was already in the Demo. Actualy i do have a copied version of LockOn. Its the english one. But i had bought the german one at the same day, caus for the thigs i like, i will pay! I bought Lomac since the 1.02 patch disabled the copyprotection, and now i have made my own CD with the 1.02 patch, Loman and Mods and Skins on it.

LOMAC v1.1 copy protection – good news/bad news
oxking replied to Bogun's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah, you got it. :) Nice, that some people understand what i would say. :) (Even in German forums, that is not allways given. *g*) When i like something (like a Game or a CD), i buy it. Or i go to the cinema to watch a movie, and buy the DVD. But many people i know dont care, and have a lot of VCD Moviescreeners, downloaded games, and illegal burned copys of CDs. I must admit that i also download one or another Game or a Movie, but only because i thought i dont like it, and just want take a look, and i had never buyed this, even if i could not copy that. But i when i notice i like that Game or movie, an i use it often then i buy it! And i would never buyed it, when ive downloadet it before. To ED: Many users of German forums also decided not to buy 1.1 because of the Starcrap copy protection. This protection realy is a saleskiller.... I hope for the game and the sellings of it, that you reconsider your plans with the copyprotection..... -
LOMAC v1.1 copy protection – good news/bad news
oxking replied to Bogun's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
This is childish comment. Please do not waste our time and space on this forum! Ohhh, give me a brake! What else do you want from ED? Free Thrustmaster Cougar? This tells it all! Please ED, disregard silly and childish comments and focus on your next project! Hmm.. I think not iam childish, but you are! An Hotas Cougar... sure... why you write such a crap? Copy protection is useless. Go and check out BitTorrent, eDonkey etc, hundreds of illegal games, all working fine, they had an copyprotection, but you see, i is useless... pepole who want copy a game do it, and no copyprotection will stop them to do that. Its the better way to put anything with the game in the Box, that couldnt be so easy "shared" over internet, and brings the copyer to buy that game. By Flightsims a good printed Manual seems good idea for that. And the other side, many legal buyers of Games have problems with copyprotection. For Spellforce i had to uninstall my IDE Driver first, and had a slow CDRom without UDMA support, that the drive has garanted. So i have to download a noCD Crack, to play the game, and to have my IDE driver at the same time. But many potential customers may ask itself why to spend money for a game, which i can downlod for free (illegal, but who cares), and had no disadvantages cause i get all the game, and the electronic manual, plus no trouble with a copy protection. Maybe the developers and publishers out there should think about that, and not listening to copyprotection developers, who want only sell there copyprotectionsystem, and that every copy would be a sell, when illegal copies dont exist, with is a simple lie of them. -

Copy Protection is useless! It only cost money, and punnish the custumer for buying a Game and spend money to the developer, cause he had trouble with the protection. But it recompense the one who downloadet the game illegal, cause he has no problems because of a cracked version or so. That is stupid, and the totally wrong way! legal customers must be recompense with eg. a printed Manual or so, and not be punished with a copyprotection. Otherwise they simply will not buy the product! I dont buy copy protectet CD`s. I Only did once, and than no more. When they have an protection, i download me the CD illegal as mp3, because so i dont have any trouble, can use it in my mp3 Car Hifi System etc. And i have buyed LockOn, first when the 1.02 patch was out, because it had deactivate the copyprotection. Maybe i dont buy games anymore, cause they make only trouble with the copyprotection, and on the other hand, they dont have printed Manuals, nice big boxes and so, as they dit earlyer, where no copyprotection was on cd`s. Please ED, dont punish the customers! Reward them! Sorry for my bad english speaking! ^^ -
Ok, well... you guys scared me.... But it seems to work all right for me... :D Don`t could find the old joystick bug. But when i stop the game (with the S key), and i try to look around in the cockpit with keybord or joystick, i only tip the key quickly, but my view has a kind of delay, and dont stops for a short time. I keep turning my head, but i dont press the button anymore. This is only happening when iam in the pause mode (S key).
-
The BitTorrent Link works verry well. 96 kb/s :D Thank you!
-
Wahhh! Dont tell me its the old Joystick bug, (When i hold the cooliehad to view in an direction, it stucked, an i have to stop pushing the coolie had, and then press again, and so on....) who was fixed in 1.02, and this was the point why i dont buyed LockOn on release, but at the 1.02 Update.... (Why is an old Bug, in an new software-version again?!) When it is the same bug, i will not buy the 1.1 Addon, cause the release Lockon was unable to play for me, because of the Joystik commands beeing "disturbed". :( :( :(

Missiles loosing track on low flying targets.
oxking replied to oxking's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Oh, i forgot to post a 3rd reason why the people in the german forum dont belive missiles can track at such low altitude: Missiles maybe can not steer good enough to fly such low. But to the radar thing: The low flying aircrafts radar also not work verry well on low level, this might be true. But also the highflyer shuld loose his lock, when he tracks an very low flying bandit. (Now it just happens to the missiles) And an SARH missle can be iritated by the ground radar reflections too, even when you have a lockon. And Lomac plays 15 jears in the past, maybe some problems with that are no more to day, or less strong, but they might be at this time?! Ok, i have not much knowledge about radar and missilespecs and technics, but thats why i startet this thread, cause i wonder about it, that one side says: "No, they can`t do!" and the other side: "Yes they do!" I only want to find out whats true.... (an i guess it is something in the middle. ;) ) -

Hmm maybe than ED should fix the trees, and make them not availible to turn off by the User in Multiplayer matches. (Like the outside views and Map) Trees couldnt cost that mutch performance. (Low water, or less AA and AF, is a much better performance improvement) And now after one year of playing Lock On, most of the users sureley have upgradet their Computer. -
Missiles loosing track on low flying targets.

Hi! Today we had on the S77th Server an discussion about the guys flying under 20 meters (~70 feet) to fool the enemy missiles. In my opinion it is true, that missiles loosing track and go in the ground. Ive also read an discussion here in the forum elsewhere, and i ask about it in the german UBI forum and in an other german forum, where we have guys who have been working on Migs as Technicans. Now the actual stand there is that in reality, missiles don`t hit you if you flying verry low, or at less the chances that you be hit by them, is dramaticly decreased. One reason is the disturbances of the radar signals, caused by the ground. (Also maybe a factor is the Earth's curvature, and when the missile itself flying to low, it looses track because it cant see you anymore and kind of this stuff.) On this matter it is an common tactic, to flying under the radar coverage, like Tornados with their terrain following radar does. The other is the "proximity detection" in the missiles itself, wich tells the missile to turn itself off, when detecting the ground, or to self distruct when they do. Ok, this is what comes out on the discussion on the german forums, and i like to hear your opinion about this. Imho, the 20m ruling in lockon is maybe not 100% perfect, but it is pretty close to the reality. The only thing that devs should be fixing, is that you can fly through trees, like they dont even exist. When you have to try to don`t hit the trees, you wouldnt be able to hide you under the magic 20m line, to avoid the enemy`s missiles. And than an balanceing up to more reality is given, without touching the 20m rule, with is alrady an good compromise to what we have in reality. Ok, i hope you can read and understand my english typings , and we can peacefully discuss about that topic. :D -

Did you know that castle? http://rinderteufel.bei.t-online.de/castle.jpg -
Because of that DVD-box-space-problem i suggestet those mail-back method, Where you mail in an register-cart and get the Manual send back. And i would only pease you (the developers) to speak about it with ubisoft. Just one time, that the publischer recognize the wishes of the comunity. :) I also wrote this wishes in other european ubi forums ofcourse, but it couldnt be wrong those ubi-guys hear the whishes and protests from different directions. ;) Its only because iam not sure who is makes the decision about it, and i wonder if those guys realy reding in the forums, or take realy notice about it.......

Hello, i would like to tell you an big wish for Lockon. Please tell the Publisher of the game that many people worldwide wish to have an real-printet and localised (not only in english language, but in the language of the certain coutry where the games are selled [ie. german for Germany etc.]) Manual, with entire informations of the Game and the technics of the simulated ans computerbased aircraft, groundunits and weappon systems, and also an taktical chapter. Just like the great Manual for Flanker 2.0! Ubisoft in Germany will only lay the "Basic-Manual" by the Game, and an english pdf "expert"-Manual. But the gamer and buyer of this great Simulation would like to becom an real printed entire and complex Manual on their own language, for paying about 49 Euro for an game. A good idea were, to lay by, an register card, witch is send back to the local publisher, an becom an entire big fat Manual. eventual for paying 10-15 Euro extra (depending on the quality on the manual). Greetings, Christian Irmer, Bremen, Germany
