  1. Thank you. Logs are now attached above.
  2. Okay, thank you. I will poke around later since I have not tried anything beyond the base game loads.
  3. Thank you again for your replies! It is a little roasty, toasty in the summer heat, and despite air-conditioning, I might not be flying too much more DCS until the weather cools. Hopefully DCS can add some of these AI assets and let us know in the upcoming six months.
  4. It crashed again this weekend on that basic A-10 mission, and it froze up repeatedly both this weekend and last weekend on the same A-10 mission. I only flew a single F-15 and A-10 mission each both weekends. Logs are now attached. dcs.log dcs.log.old debrief.log
  5. Hope you all are doing well! I have not yet graduated to the F-14 or Supercarrier modules and just acquired the Kola map to investigate early 1980s cold war scenarios to accompany the Cold War Germany map, but I noticed that we seem to be missing a lot of assets to make more enjoyable scenarios. When I bought DCS back in the fall, I noticed that we had the Tu-95, Tu-142, and Tu-22M3 but did not have the Tu-16 variants (missile, bomber, tanker) or earlier bombers, like the Tu-22 Blinder. We also do not seem to have the Su-15 Flagon interceptors or Tu-126 Moss AWACS from that early 1980s era that might have provided limited-range escorts to the bombers. Through a more extended campaign, and if the Soviets were successful seizing certain Norwegian airfields, would they base those Su-15 Flagons to escort the bombers on CVBG attacks? Unfortunately, DCS does not have much to offer for naval aviation in that era: 1. We have an S-3 but no P-3, IL-38, etc., which would be good additions. I may have skipped over it, but do we have the A-6 and A-7? 2. American naval assets are limited to 1990s era cruisers and destroyers so a few from the 1980s might be good for the CVBG, along with more Norwegian, Swedish, and Finish naval assets. 3. For targets, we have a Grisha, Moskva, Kilo sub, Ropucha, and some civilian craft (Maybe the Kremlin/Brezhnev CVN we already have also?). 4. Would more docked SSBNs, SSNs, SSGNs, SSGs, and SSs be good targets at the port (or at sea for those that must remain surfaced to guide missiles)? 5. At sea with threatening SAM systems and as targets, would the CV Kiev; BCGN Kirov; CG Kara, Kresta II; CL Sverdlov; DDG Udaloy, Sovremennyy, Kashin, Kanin; FFG Krivak II; and lesser transports that might be part of the amphibious landing force target (Urga, Modified Andhizan, Dubna, Boris Chilikin, Anguema, Yuniy Partuzab, etc.) be good additions? I will have to check whether the hangar modules are "breakable," but it might be interesting to create a scenario with F-16s and F-5s defending Andoya (Norwegian P-3C airbase) to see how many survive a Soviet missile attack (not counting the P-3s flying on the Bear Island ASW barrier or elsewhere)? Clear skies and may the wind be at your back . . . except when taking off and landing!
  6. Thanks for the info and insights! I am going to leave this open as a suggestion for the future. I am still working my way around Cold War Germany and the Iraq maps. Clear skies!
  7. Does this AH-64D now support the AH-64A cockpit and limitations for the 1980s DCS Cold War Germany map, or might this module have a later update with that? The old Jane's Longbow and Longbow Gold had both flight models and cockpits
  8. Thank you for offering, but was not the 53rd at Bitburg with the BT tail until 1994 when they moved to Spangdahlem until 1999? I am hoping that they will add the BT F-15 liveries. I tried to select the respective squadrons, but I think that it had the MD or MO tails.
  9. Any Updater 2.17.3.11 issues to install the map? After completing the download about 50 minutes later, it is now slowly unpacking. It froze unpacking at about the halfway point and mostly stopped downloading with 4 Gb to go, or oscillated up to only 2-3 MB/s. Previously I was getting 10 MB/s.
  10. Just a refreshed request since we are up to V2.9 and have added a lot of features to the mission editor and save status for future mission creation
  11. I have had it crashing on some very basic A-10A mission editor mission with a single A-10A and a company of T-55s (maybe 10 stationary) and BMPs (maybe 20 stationary) and possibly with a simple F-15C intercept mission with two F-15Cs, an E-3A, and two MiG-29s. It happened once in four tries on the A-10 mission this past weekend and once in three tries with the F-15C mission this past weekend. We were operating in the south for both missions.
  12. Same issue today and have noticed the same with the Sharepoint website when downloading individual files, but at least the projected download time went from 19 hours now to less than 3 hours. I was hoping finally to get around to flying this holiday season and have to await a 120 Gb download. Happy Holidays!
  13. I am not sure whether this is the right topic group, but I have a Logitech X-56 HOTAS and would like the ability to take screen shots of my simulation experiences. I noticed that the 2020 DCS manual only mentions it once or twice with respect to server screenshot permissions. When I activated the Windows 11 Xbox gamebar to take a screenshot, I get a mouse crosshair pointer after exiting and lose the ability to adjust the view zoom with the mouse. Is there another, better technique for taking screenshots or recording flights as MP4s to be shared?
  14. Thank you, Draconus. I seem to have the programming working. Are the numeric keypad numbers the default padlock views, or is something else used for those views?
  15. Thanks to the community, I was able to get the throttle mapped and test out some of the other functions, but I am running into some difficulties with what I think are undocumented translations of the DCS controller designations (on the left) from the Logitech ones (possibly on the right) with what I discovered (offset with a number) that may have been mapped but not shown in the DCS controls table. Does anyone have better information or can point me to a more useful reference? According to DCS, the flight stick has 17 buttons with on and off features, a point of view (POV, allowing you to look around the cockpit or outside) with about 9 options, at least two axis (X,Y; mapped), and three rotation axes (mapped RZ for rudder). Logitech only reports 8 buttons, POV, X/Y axes, twist, the C-stick, and perhaps two hats (H1, H2). I discovered these apparently unmapped per DCS controls tab but still functional devices on the flight stick: Button A fires missile (I think that I mapped this one) Button D toggles between missiles and guns According to DCS, the throttle has 36 buttons with on and off features, two sliders, at least two axis (X,Y; mapped for throttle; ), and three rotation axes (RX,RY,RZ). I discovered these apparently unmapped per DCS controls tab but still functional devices on the throttle: Button E was still firing the cannon, like the flight stick trigger Button H appears to adjust the radar range Button I selects the weapons I really would prefer not to have individually to test each and every button combination off the DCS list to try to identify it, but I would like to get more use out of all my HOTAS features. I was looking at programming countermeasures and any missing radar functions this morning, but the translation issue halted my progress. Might I use the Logitech software to program the buttons not shown as mapped and not already functioning, or will that get overwritten by the DCS HOTAS configuration settings? Oh, I found the YouTube video, which I have not used commonly in the past, and it looks like you just select the button when you are on the setting screen. We shall see whether that works. 16. I do not see any more recent posts on this thread, but have download speeds continued to be an issue? I downloaded DCS V2.9 for the first time Wednesday afternoon and evening, and it took nearly 6 hours averaging 9 MBPS on a 75/75 MBPS service. I am not looking forward to future DCS module downloads at those speeds. I think that Steam may have been worse on Sunday night, but I will have to check both again in the near future. After some other problems, I did reset the router, and the Verizon FIOS tech support claimed that their test came back 79/88. Unfortunately, their website speed test utility was misbehaving with 31/28 and timing out before I called them.
  17. Is there a way to test X-56 throttle response in DCS? Alas, I do not think you got a reply. I thought that I would try as well. I picked up a brand-new X-56 HOTAS with a new Windows 11 computer. The Logitech software shows a throttle response when I slide the dual throttles from 100% to 0% and back, but Electronic Arts tech support could not figure out over six hours why their software could not respond even when recognizing both the throttle and stick. I had to reverse the pitch response, but all worked, except the throttle. Stick performance seems fine for basic DCS 2.9, but the TF-51D does not respond to the throttle because of the engine governor and RPM setting operations. I tried to test throttle response on the Su-25, but I did not seem to get any change in airspeed or engine performance, but I may not be so adept at interpreting that language or symbology. Resolved: I succeeded in setting the axes and tested in the Su-25.
