Great reading Schtuzer--the amount of work is enormous--thanks for sticking to it, and not giving up. I haven't started the campaign yet (but purchased it)--looking forward to it once I get some more hours in the helo. I look forward to next blog entry.

After following troubleshooting steps--specifically cleaning video drivers and re-installing latest--seems to have solved the problem.

I've created a pdf and attached--it includes the following: Crash Report Dxdiag Report Error Report Reliability Report Object_arrays.log At the time of this error I was in the shooting range mission--unloading my cannon on a static target. My screen kept switching to desktop and back again, from beginning of mission. Also had strange, checkerboard type artifacts that would come and go. I do O'C, but my temperature is quite cool. I've stopped the O'C, and will try to reproduce.

I read the posts on the multi-core discussion--I wonder, the FAQ states there will be a 64 bit version, which I happened to recently install (win 7). What will this do to help performance, as opposed to multi-cores?

This may be due to my custom resolution (1232x698--but all of the information is not displayed on my ABRIS. I searched for a NDB, found it--selected it, then hit INFO. The part that is partially exposed should be the frequency, and some other info. Any ideas? (see attached .jpg) :helpsmilie:

720p HD Widescreen v1.0 Individual Training Tracks (22) Available
BBQ replied to BBQ's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
any ideas on where to host ipod files for those who are interested? would something like SkyDrive work for that? -
UPDATE: I went ahead and created them all over again in 1080P. Long live the shark! These are the original training tracks from v1.0, caught by FRAPs at 1280x720, and then converted to highest quality wmv. Here's the playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=723940F5AE9B07BB I went about it a little differently than Distiler's effort--breaking them down into the individual tracks per v1.0. Also captured natively at 1280x720, so they should show properly in the 16x9 aspect ratio. I have also created .mp4 versions of all of them for your iPhone! I like to listen to the narration on the commute to work. The total size for the .mp4 files is a little over 1GB--if anyone would like to host them, please IM me, so I can upload. NOTE: Distiler mentioned that some of the original tracks are "wrong"--in terms of procedures or information presented. I haven't check them that thoroughly--so just be aware that this is possible. Thanks for the head's up, Distiler! Enjoy!

/ key for comms does not work. in notepad it works fine. in controller setup when I highlight any command under keyboard input, and then type / it goes to command ] is mapped to. also / is properly mapped to communications command!! I've even done a fresh install with no luck.

ah--thanks!

thx for the heads up. weren't there some missing/corrupted from downloads section of official site?
-
Ok--I see. So they have been upconverted to HD (720p). (for it to have been native, source resolution would have had to have been 1280 x 720, not 1024 x 768. That also explains the 4:3 aspect ratio. Ok--I get it. I'm going through all the training from a fresh install, unpatched--and making wmv files, which will be at 1280 x 720, natively. I wonder if it's worth the effort, considering the work you've done.
-
Distiller--thanks alot--was in the middle of doing this myself! I noticed you lost the widescreen aspect ratio--which I was also having trouble figuring out. Do you still have the source files/recordings? Did you use the "built in" video creator, or fraps?

I just bumped up to Windows 7 64 bit from 32 bit Windows 7. I have a backup of old computer (32 bit) and copied entire Eagle Dynamics directory over to new 64 bit system. In the "old" days, this used to work. Problem is, I left my install disc at my mom's, about an hour away, and wondered if there was any way this was going to work. I"m assuming no, but thought I'd give it a try before making the drive across town to get my disc!

Noob: just updated to 1.0.2 and no tutorials?
BBQ replied to Becks21's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
totally spaced that. excellent reminder--thanks Kifter! -
I think my grandpa had one implanted because of a irregular heartbeat or something. ;)

Steve, Good to see you're involved in all this--long time no see. Welp, what you described was just what I was hoping someone would post. Now I've got to get one. Just a matter of a weekend of a few hours of overtime at the salt mines. Thanks for the input. Coolts--he kind of makes it impossible for us not to REQUIRE one of these bad boys, doesn't he?

What's so special about the throttle--besides the fact there are seperate levers for each engine?

Nice. Started the day off with a laugh! I just shelled out 2 grand to clear a bunch of weed type trees from a rental property and trim back an ancient silver maple that was encroaching angels 20, and was covering the entire city black like some kind of biodome. Back on topic--would be nice for some to post exactly what any Cougar owners will be missing out on if they pass on the Warthog. The main thing itching me is the HeART sensor thing--as I have had to clean my pots once or twice over the years.

Not sure about the accuracy of that. In any event, the P-51 Mustang was also cancelled, yet thousands upon thousands want to fly it in IL2 and other WW2 era sims.
-
As I'm sure it's been said multiple times before--it's no guarantee this will happen in BS--but for Flaming Cliffs, in the event someone had exhausted their installations, ED had given them more, in most cases, with no questions asked.

wow--I hadn't realized a thread in a flight simulation forum could reach Faustian proportions. We've got some real passion streaming through these threads.

Think of it as having your own Ka-50, for under $2000.00

DCS: Black Shark English Key Command List and HOTAS assignments
BBQ replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
BTW, in the real thing, the ECM (chaff/flares) are not on the stick. The pilot has to reach up to the right overhead panel to the hit the button. I couldn't believe this at first--but after flying for awhile it makes sense. The dispenser is programmable--and pushing the button starts a sequence of flares/chaff. When entering a "hot" area--just hit the button once, and that's one less thing to worry about while you're in, or over the target area. The flares dispense continuously, per your custom program. -
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/10/27/prince.harry.helicopter.pilot/index.html We've got to get those brothers to endorse Blackshark! "When I'm not flying my Chinook search and rescue helocopter, I fly my Ka-50 Blackshark, from Eagle Dynamics!" (Picture of him holding the retail box next to his cheek, smiling)

Yeah, you're missing an MBA. You have to realize that they are doing what's best for the business. I.e., many very smart people looked at the situation and made a decision. I don't think you're in a position to question their decision, unless of course, you do have an MBA.
