  1. Don't fly it then; think of all the time you've wasted on these forums.
  2. Thanks for all the great movies, GA. my wife: "Do we have to watch another one of those movies now?" me: "It's a new one!" my wife: "You say that every time. I'm going to the bedroom..."
  3. There has been a lot of praise about the smoothness of the multiplayer.
  4. Good point, Peyoteros!
  5. Good point, Skipper +1
  6. ....sccreeeeeeech.
  7. I think we'll all be blown away by the manual--I'd imagine it will keep simmers busy while they wait for the International release!
  8. Now, now kids--don't make me pull the car over ;)
  9. To Teapot: I think to call LO dead is a little off the point. Blackshark continues the product, albeit with a new "series", and a new name. It's a natural progression--and I think it would be accurate to say that if there had been no LO, there would be no BS.
  10. Absolutely. With the trigger/flags capabilities, the possibilities are endless. I've flown such a mission that you described already.
  11. Not sure about assigning it to throttle's thumb stick. I chose the realistic way--and assiged them to one of the hats on the stick. Works super smooth and nicely that way. I've never had ANY luck using the throttle's thumb mouse thing (with flight sims in the past). It has always been erratic, to say the least--despite having d/loaded files to the cougar with special programming for it. I've given up on it, and use it now (it's button function) to lock/designate targets.
  12. The beauty of Blackshark is that you don't need to program your Cougar (unless you want to). The controller options area recognizes it--and you can directly map any command to any button, and any axis to any axis. I always thought it was kind of fun setting up my cougar for an upcoming sim--sort of part of the whole ceremony, for lack of a better word, of beginning a new sim. But it's so darn simple now, to just do it in Blackshark--next time I'll be opening up Foxy will be for BoB (unless it has a similiar function.)
  13. The answer is in the FAQ--but here's the short version: Blackshark will not take advantage of multi-core processors. However, future versions/modules are expected to.
  14. Then you just go to the website, and login. First you will retrieve your serial number/code. Then, way down at the bottom, after all of the many modules that have been published, there will be a seperate, special section of links for the original DCS: Blackshark (Game of the Year Edition, Extended Edition, Special Edition, 5th year Anniversery Edition, 10 year Anniversery Edition, Gold Edition, and finally, the Francis Ford Coppola Approved Absolute Final Cut Not Releasing Another Version Edition.) Then you'll just pick one of those and d/load it. After you install it it will ask for your serial number, and you'll be back in business.
  15. Just because you saw some GUIs and cockpits/tooltips in english doesn't mean the rest of the simulation, documentation, encyclopedia, missions, and campaigns are converted ;)
  16. Geez--I've got countless hours in the beta, and I'm so far from being able to do most of the things you mentioned! Okay, I can probably do a pop-up attack--but dodging convoys and hiding around buildings--not in my forseeable future! Just wanted to reply about how hard (and therefore rewarding) it is to master this helo. A tribute to the realism of flying this beast. :book: Don't expect to be doing those things for a long time after installation! (Unless you tone down realism settings!)
  17. Wait until you figure out the Datalink in coop--very cool bit of kit. So much fun sending targets to others, and receiving.
  18. Me too, SuperKungFu. Gotta support the developers. Interesting though, in this sluggish environment for flight sims (lowest I can recall), we're about to get the greatest sim ever released (IMHO). Of the developers that survived over the past 15 or so years, I'm glad ED was one of them!
  19. I guess GG is right. A quote from GG during my first online flight: "Is that you BBQ, with your landing gear up, flying at 2000 meters altitude? It's a helicopter BBQ, not a jet!"
  20. Probably the pilot's iPod.
  21. The only real difference is the voice-overs. The cockpit will probably be played by most in russian with english tool-tips. So you don't get the english tooltips--but you have the manual! At least you could practice start-ups. That really gives you a good understanding of the pit. Lots of checks, etc. If I didn't already have it, being part of the team, I would definately try to get my hands on the russian version!
  22. Without getting into the politics/problems--is anyone else following the news today of Russia deploying tanks/aircraft to Georgia? I was wondering what aircraft have been used.
  23. I've found it quite useful, especially until I master auto-rotation landing!
  24. Apparently, the F135 and F136 are completely interchangable. So if I understand this right--there is no "competition" for which engine will go in the jet--they both will be available--some countries might want one engine over the other, etc.
