  1. I had some time for additional testing this evening and found that if I fired the "Convoy Activate" shortly after take off, it would work correctly each time (well, at least not crash DCS). You can do this by simply flying a few hundred yards from the airport and then return. However, if you play the mission out as I anticipate by going to the target range, blowing up some targets and returning, DCS crashes every time that trigger fires. Almost seems like a memory exception error but have no idea how to read the crash dump file. I've attached the most recent crash dump. Short of breaking the mission up into two missions, I would appreciate any insight or thoughts the community or developers could provide in avoiding these crashes Crash2.zip
  2. I just started working with the mission editor a couple weeks back and am enjoying learning how to use it. This past weekend, I put together a simple mission to test various editor functions such as random group activations, flags and zones. The problem however is that about 50% of the time I fly the mission, DCS crashes when executing a specific trigger. The other 50% of the time however, it works perfectly and I can continue the mission. The trigger is named "Convoy Activate" and simply activates an enemy truck convoy and publishes a message to the player. I've attached both the crash dump and log files from the last failure as well as the mission itself. If this trigger crashed the game every time it fired, it would at least make some sense but for the life of me I can't determine why it works some times and blows DCS out of the water on other occasions.   3. I'm just beginning to dabble in with the mission editor and had a question regarding controlling your wingman. I'm working on a simple scenario where I want the player to take off and perform a specific task. Once complete and factoring in a random variable, I would want the wingman (still at base) to spool up, take off and join the player for the remainder of the mission. Any of you expert mission builders have a suggestion on how best to accomplish this? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  4. FC3 Manual??? Now that FC3 is out of beta, has anyone published the manual to Lulu.com? I really like having hard copies of the DCS manuals and am missing this one. I tried uploading it myself for print but didn't have the necessary software to embed the fonts. Can anyone help?

    Mini-Gun

    While on the subject of the mini-gun, I've noticed that there is about a.5 - 1 second delay from when I pull the trigger to when lead starts going down range. Is this expected and if so what causes the delay? For someone that hasn't yet mastered the whole straight and level flight yet, this makes aiming all the more challenging. I end up just holding down the trigger and letting my lack of flying skill hose down the entire area... This doesn't seem to happen when firing the 2.75 rockets.

  7. Falconten You can uninstall single modules through the process below. I have done this several times while trying to solve along loading time problem with the P-51 module installed. While I've not solved my load time problem, I can verify the uninstall process works. The uninstall process needs to be run from the command line. From a DOS prompt, navigate to the DCS world\Bin and type "dcs_updater.exe uninstall P-51d".
  8. I took advantage of recent holiday sale to add the P-51D module to my DCS World collection (A-10C, KA-50, FC3 and now the Mustang...). However, after installing the new module, my load times have increased significantly for all modules. Specifically, the splash screen that appears after launching a mission/campaign flight now stays active for nearly 3 minutes before the loading screen for the appropriate module starts. Previously, the splash screen would only be visibile for 10 - 15 seconds. Once past the splash screen, the mission loading time for the specific modules appear to be the same. It just the additional time spent staring at the splash screen is driving me nuts :cry:. The time spent on the splash screen is now consistent regardless of the plane/module selected. I've noticed that if I uninstall the P-51 module (or even move the associated P-51 aircraft folder in the mod directory to another location on my hard drive), load times return to normal. I'm running the most current patch level. I've even gone so far as to completely uninstall DCS World and all modules, downloaded all new files and reinstalled/patched. All to no affect however :mad:. Any ideas on how I might resolve this????
  9. Chizh I was experiencing the same long load times as others before applying the fix to use the old gui. I however kept copies of the original lua files can can easily roll back and forth between GUIs. I also still have beta4 installed Is there a logging option I can activate and capture the difference in a log file? Is there another info or diagnostics I could send that would help identify the problem? For reference, my system specs are as follows Intel core duo 2.7GHz 4 GB ram ATI 5570 Win 7 64 bit
  10. Adding the DLL along with the other edits dramatically reduced the load times. I would be happy to post the DLL if the Forum Admins aprove as I don't want to violate any EULA or forum rules...
  11. HungaroJET, Thanks!!! That was the missing piece. Opening menu opens now in less than 30 seconds. Will be interesting if ED is able to correct this problem in a future patch.
  12. Wouldn't this change invalidate the subsequent lua edits and keep the new GUI in which case the load times wouldn't change? I'm curious if you changed the lua files and kept this setting did your load times improve?
  13. I'm seeing the same error message after making the edits. HungaroJET, would it be possible for you to post the modified lua files to the form? That would eliminate any chance of the error being due to stupidity or bad typing on my part...
  14. Likewise for me. Just a black screen until the main menu is displayed. I also seem to have the issue with very long load times for the main menu and end of mission screens being reported in the "performance" sub forum. Very strange as I never had this issue with either beta 3 or beta 4.
