when people are saying medium setting or low setting they seem to forgot that the screen resolution has a big impact on the fps. lower it at 1024x768 and your frame rate will get a big boost. Before telling that your computer isn't able to play a game or sim, always try to buy a good video card.

You understand that your computer is old, so you gonna need to upgrade it one day, and that day, you'll probably ask ED to upgrade that sim engine with their most current!! Sorry, but I'm waiting so much for an engine upgrade in BS to play with it again. If your computer don't meet the minimum spec start thinking to upgrade it. But please don't ask ED not to upgrade their sim.

So, do you feel it's fair to explain what you took 100 of hours to acquired in about 15 minutes to someone that is just too lazy to take time to read? In my opinion, if someone is too lazy to take the time to read the manual he does not deserve help.

You need to read the manual. This is the only solution. You cannot just take practical course on flying an aircraft. You need to read the manual. And, you cannot expect that someone will read entirely the manual then explain it to you in 15minutes.

fps is just perfect, the problem was really my video card. So, for people that are using a gtx260 and complaining about frames rate, you just need to lower the screen resolution. :cry:

Didn't notice anything blurred, but my frame rate dropped from 80fps to 35 - 51fps. :( Need to lower the resolution back to 1280x768. Is there a reason why there is no 1280x720 ? what is making the fps dropping? Sound engine, or graphic engine? Anyways, my graphic card is pretty old, I need to change it. I like the canopy sound, I hope that the canopy will not break if I open and close it 10x in a row :)

Hmm... I cannot wait to get use to it. It's pretty hard to click on the switches. Mainly for setting the ILS and TACAN frequency. If you have some tips I'd appreciate if you want to share them with me. I'm not able to look correctly to the left and right panel. I pause the sim and remove my hat to do it manually. (I don't use the pause key for TIR). It's really hard to get use to it.

Does being able to open the cockpit at 250kts is realistic?

you're right, I was really refering to the CPU and the video card but he's right for the RAM "2megs" I meant 2Gig. I forgot to give my first impression ;) Amazing, but I don't like the hung store ;) I really love that sim. I doubt that you can run latest games with that. You RAM?? you're below the minimum and your processor is below the minimum required. Your computer is really old dude. Built another one. I understand now. You're not the master, but really the slave ;) Buy an I7xxx, a graphic card (one that can handle dx11 for future release.) more than 2 megs or RAM et voila;. You'll then find that sim amazing. By the way, opt for the windows 7 64bit.

This sim run pretty well on my computer, i7 950, but with a really old video card "gtx260". I simply cannot put the screen resolution at 1680x1050 but at 1280x768 I have 44fps (min) but the average is above 80fps. water at low, shadow at low and everything else at high. The first thing you have to do is lower your screen resolution, most of people that are complaining for low fps was because of their video card having a hard time to render images at higher resolution. Don't blame the dev. team, blame your budget. The option screen is there to configure the sim with the hardware that you have. the minimum requirement (for all software) mean that you'll be able to play it with this requirement but at everything low. This is common for all software.

I recommend you GTX 460 1024M

That video card is old a little bit. Maybe EtherealN may tell you if they test that sim with this video card. If not, you may think to upgrade it. I'm pretty sure that's the problem why your frame rate is not higher than that. Start task manager, kill all that you don't need (if you don't know what post a screenshot of your task manager) start the sim. It may help to gain 5-10 fps but changing your video card for a NVidia one (gtx series are the best bet) may improve greatly the fps.

louisv Please take a screenshot of your task manager and post it. I you have a good computer, maybe it's something that slow down your computer. ex. if you are seeding the torrent, your hd may be working too hard. That may slow down the loading page

Maybe he should set the installation folder in the anti-virus exception. AVG permit this. Avg -> tools -> setting -> resident shield -> excluded items or something similar.
