  1. Just to confirm that the pixel shifting also work: x for Forward(minus) to Back (plus) and y for up(minus) and down(plus) ref: shift_pixels_x, shift_in_pixels_y You can move e.g. a "." right to the center of the your LOD for a smoother transition.
  2. I am hoping when the new 2.5 rolls out all these missing effects for WWII planes will start showing up
  3. Goblin, I like the look on max settings . Maybe after some of the novelty wears off and have to go to battle, I might have to do it but just messing around with solo touch and goes, formation with an AI and changing weather and time conditions in Mission Editor is just too much fun.
  4. ...hitting your head in various areas around your workstation is also expected. ...where is that damn screw, I am pretty sure it fell right there between the parking brake and my seat...
  5. I am experiencing the same thing johnco61 is saying. It is ghosting and juddering with ASW off. Mostly noticeable on the canopy frame. It is smoother with the ASW ON, all settings maxed out and pixel density to 1.5. (Lens effect, Depth of field and traffic are off) However, I am referring to the 2.0 Nevada map (fps 45) because in the 1.5.5 my framerates with the above settings are around 25. Video memory usage in Nevada with just my plane up ranges 9000-10000 Mb!! Intel i7 3970x, x79motherboard, Nvidia Titan X (Maxwell), 16 GB DDR3
  6. boedha68, in case you have not run into this thread yet: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2746202&postcount=1 On my end, the 2.0 runs smoother than the current 1.5.5.
  7. Thank you guys. I just got the rift and as many stated so far, with all its current limitations, it is very hard to go back to a flat screen :) Makes you really see and appreciate the level of excellence the DCS team has achieved. Like owning a museum and nobody tells you "no"
  8. Hello Occulus Rift Gentlemen Is it normal to have DCS run on your desktop when you have the Rift on your head? If so, is there a way to let the PC know to output only to the Rift until you exit the game?
  9. Thanks billeinstein. I will try and report back. If one can do it, then it CAN be done and I will figure out what I am doing wrong :) Back with excellent news: It works a marvell and I have figured out what I was doing wrong. I was not copying the folders Config\Views\labels.lua. I was just placing only the labels.lua file inside the .miz. If a spike of brain activity where to happen, I would have understood that the engine needs some structure to read material :) Thank you billeinstein for your time and effort to put me on the right path. This is an absolutely great feature for mission designers and Server operators.
  10. Could it be possible for anyone to confirm that CUSTOM labels ARE enforced from the server? I have labels ON and ENFORCED in the mission editor, included a custom labels.lua file inside the .miz file and integrity box checked on Server but connected clients still see labels the way they are configured on client's DCS. Any ideas?
  11. Excellent, much appreciated :)
  12. So, after creating your mission in Mission Editor, you extract the .miz file, place the labels.lua file in same folder as the extracted file and repack it. If this is correct, what application do you need to repack. 7z, zip?
  13. Alt+Enter will get you in true full screen in case you did not know. It is not documented yet. I am pretty sure that eventually it will get shorted out.
  14. You are probably right. My observation though was on a certain aircraft angle (around frontal view) that in ~9-12 km the impostor of single engine plane looks like a twin engine plane in 2.0 where I don't seem to see that in 1.52. Heavier and darker areas on each side of a less bulky and lighter in color middle. That is from the default DCS setup. Your mod makes that behave a little less distracting.
  15. Why485, I like your mod!! I have installed it in both standard 1.52 and alpha 2.0. I have a hunch that the behavior is not identical. Is there a difference of interpretation of your changes among those two versions? It could be me or the lighting conditions. The two missions I tested are not identical as far as the weather and tod. I tend to like the 1.52 look but overall I think this is an improvement on either.
  16. I have done just that and testing it as we speak. Thank you!!
  17. I would like to try your mod but since I have never run any mods for DCS in the past, any suggestions on how to apply it? JSGME maybe?
  18. Excellent utility, kind of spoils you rotten :)
  19. That is a good question. I can only speculate that the team is working on it.
  20. It seems so real!! Is this future content for DCS? Just got the news letter, so never mind the question :)
  21. I agree. I am hoping once the new engine has settled, all shorts of proper effects (e.g. engine smoke and fire on start up in WWII planes, .50 bullet effects on planes, fine tuning on fire effects...) will be implemented
  22. Yes, same thing here.
  23. The Prop planes sound and vibrations are quite nice. What is missing at the moment is the smoke and flashes that usually comes out with all that ruckus. :) I think little details like that would be a pretty nice addition.
