  1. Always enjoy reading your posts GGTharos, very informative :D
  2. Im a noob when it comes to aircraft and how they actually behave but just grabbing some quotes off the wiki.. "With a top speed of Mach 2.83+" and.. "The MiG-25 could reach Mach 3.2, but resulted in the destruction of the engines" assuming those statements are true ? I don't think an F-A/18, F-16 or F-15E would match.. or would it ?
  3. Don't these engines have even more power ?
  4. That ! my friend is my dream.. to have a multilayer cooperative tandem seat aircraft in DCS. I have never and will never play single player.. ever.. After many many hours/days/weeks/... of online cooperative gaming with like minded individuals the experience is unbeatable. My ultimate dream is to see DCS evolve into a MMO VBS featuring a map of the world. I have high hopes for the devs of DCS. What they have achieved thus far is revolutionary. I have never had so much enjoyment in watching a development team with such dedication and passion grow, they are slowly but surely fulfilling my dream game. *cough* a little off topic there.. Yes yes.. The F4E phantom is awesome... :D
  5. The M61 20mm Vulcan Gatling gun pod :D
  6. I'd now like to see a poll showing interest between the F/A-18E and F/A-18F.. I know there is allot of strange people here that like and only play single player :P but I'd certainly love to fly cooperatively online in a tandem seat aircraft..
  7. I would certainly enjoy flying such an aircraft in DCS. :pilotfly:
  8. At what point did I ever say it was easy ?
  9. Every game isn't optimized for multi core ? id have to disagree. Hi-end games such as Crysis, Arma2, Rise of flight use multi core perfectly. Rise of flight uses the latest intel 6 core CPU's evenly which has greatly improved its performance against dual, not so much quad with same clock speeds. Why is it that DCS is the only game I have that uses more CPU single core percentage over GPU percentage. Games such as the ones I have listed above commonly use 95-100% GPU and 25-30% CPU across the cores where DCS thrashes the CPU with only 85%Single or 50-65%SLI GPU. (on my setup) there are plenty of applications and games that use multi core CPU and use them well, why cant DCS be the same.. Even if 1 core is waiting for another, it is better than limiting the overall bandwidth of information. Debates such as these can be endless. all I would like is information such as.. Are they looking into doing this or If not why is it not feasible. Is it too much workload or against the business model ? Honesty and an explanation would be great. But a vague explanation such as "We don't think it would make much of a difference" makes me feel like a mushroom.. :noexpression:
  10. I would have to say that their would certainly be a noticeable difference. Evident where if you monitor your CPU usage 1 core is at 100% where the rest are idle. That in itself would suggest its wanting more. Furthermore if you overclock your CPU the CPU remains at 100% while drastically improving your frame rate which indicates it is bottle necked at the CPU. In regards to resource management across the cores that is up to the devs to optimize. But I have no doubt that multi core support would improve performance.
  11. I cannot deny your support being no less than spectacular. However something on my wish list that I and many others have always wanted is the game to have SLI/Xfire support and multi core support.. I understand it would be a major overhaul but multi core support would fix everyones performance issues as it is bottle necked at the CPU. Furthermore it would future proof your engine.
  12. There is no sense of achievement with offline play... never play offline. I train online with friends and you learn real fast doing so... there is nothing like talking to your buddy on the way to your mission zone or asking or assisting when in trouble. Best of all is when you all touch down with no losses, you get a great sense of contribution and achievement when completing a mission as a team!! Co-op the only way to fly !! "If you cannot share your experiences there is nothing gained."
  13. yep, it is difficult, many factors have to be correct to pull it off
  14. If two targets are close enough together, make sure your TGP designation is set to latch and with sufficient altitude release the first LGB 8-10 seconds before the CCRP optimum release point then release the second on cue. At this point override the TGP designation with a manual latch. After the first hit slew to the second target... It works.
  15. I think they need to work on their damage model, a friend of mine had a rough landing.. but still landed without both wings... strange but I found it harder to fly without one horizontal and vertical stabilizer than without 1 wing....
  16. One of my wishes has come true whooo!! http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/about/ many people seem to despise this idea, get frustrated with signal degradation and or don't understand its use when you all in ts and in the same channel.... well that just means your not :joystick: HARDCORE:joystick: enough!!! =============== In addition I want to see an *option* for cooperative two seater aircraft in the future !!! and if you think that's a waste or boring well just read the last line of the previous paragraph again...
  17. Yea DCS is a flight sim and Arma is a soldier sim, Arma is an impressive and dynamic game but its aircraft modeling and avionics are pathetic. DCS is closer to modeling the real airforce. As for requiring a supercomputer to play ? well Arma still manages to bring the best of computers to its knees no matter what your configuration. The reason for DCS modules is the result and extent of their R&D and their development teams ability in relation to feasible deadlines. I think the popularity of the DCS series is underestimated. There are more people playing it than you think, its the stigma of flight sims that tend to separate its genre from the commonly played games combined with the lack of dedicated server support. In the OGN ArmA community there are at least 10 of us that are DCS fanatics 2 or 3 of them are crazy enough to be building their own cockpits, and this is from an ArmA community. Im sure there are plenty more people/close nit groups out there... We just need to bring them all together... Just thinking as I write this post... I am in a unique position to... say host a DCS community ? I have close ties to the RAAF IL2 community which im sure they would be interested in such an idea. In addition I have access to their servers, as well as an additional blade server and TS3 server on top of that.. hmmm ideas ideas.... we shall see.... :book:
  18. I can see you point of view.. Flight sims have a detached online experience, and becomes more of a personal experience more than anything.. To give you an idea where im coming from.. these are a tried and tested experiences with great success. I am and have been an ogn arma member for quite some time.. yes 'armed assault 2' look it up if you dont know what it is, and yes DCS and ArmA are a completely different game, however the game itself is not what makes it great but the community experience. Every ones on TS3 and we have had structured games up to 30+ people in the past. Some people are on transport duty which you would think is extremely boring along with other seemingly boring tasks such as artillery control, operation command and scout... where the grunts, tank crews and air crews have all the fun.. its not the game or what you do in the game its the contributing factor within the community that makes it worth it. Dont know about you guys but I cannot play a flight sim alone or with a bunch of random people that turns out to be an unorganized mess. Im always taking to the sky's with at least one other person I know well, and on TS3. Knowing how well this DCS crew can model aircraft and in such detail im sure there is plenty to do in the back seat, and if you are flying with a good buddy there is plenty to talk about. Especially if your in a dog fight you would be yelling in your buddy's ear. And if your still dont buy it, then support the people that are eager for this experience, besides its not like you have to fly a 2 seater just pick another aircraft... when they make more.... :music_whistling:
  19. well its a 2 seater !! could be a coop 2 seater... I think any plane that has 2 seat coop ability in the game would be a winner just for the new welcomed experience! as for the people that like to be loners in the cockpit im sure they can get an AI to do the extra functions :joystick::joystick: *cough* just realised the other day i voted for the super hornet..., well can always hope they model the F/A-18F version..
  20. Just think this thread requires a revive... cooperative dual cockpit is something that would be a revolutionary step in development.
