Yeah FC3, Its in the wrong section.

If you really want to hone your skills with any fighter aircraft then ditch the single player and go online. The amount you will learn in an hour online is worth far more than you can ever wish to learn with AI. To say BVR with AI is predictable is an understatement. When you go online you will be met with many different people with many different skill sets, some will be like you learning the ropes, some with very rudimentary skills starting out from scratch giving you the satisfaction of their trail and errors and then there are people that will put you on the steepest learning curve you could ever imagine. Once you have experienced these things you will realise how little worth training against and defeating AI really is. Now discussing BVR in a PvP environment is certainly interesting, the only tip I can give you is that you need to be a spunge for every bit of sensory information fed to you, hone your situational awareness, learn to adapt on the fly and keep on top of the information given to you and do not get fixated. Know when to engage and disengage. If its a procedure you are looking for then I'm sure there are plenty of people here that can give you their opinion on whats best.

Ill re-try it when I can, not going to be back for a week.

Im interstate atm so I can't do or check anything. Can anyone check if track ir mapping in the control cfg is conflicting if that is even possible to check.. or alternatively you could backup your config and wipe all Su-27 mappings then load the F-15c mappings on the Su and see if that fixes it. Edit: actually when speaking with gonk in ts about the problem I think he said he tried disabling track ir z axis in natural point software and tested it to no avail. So im not sure if its going to help.
-
cool, so I'm not going crazy there is a problem... Mr GGTharos if you find this worthy of bug reporting could you move this thread to the bug report section please. cheers.
-
I have tried this, however I would like someone to try it too. Not sure if there is some kind of conflict but with track IR using / * keeps resetting when any movement is resisted with track IR however when I disable track IR and use /* it goes strait to either full zoom in or full zoom out nothing in between. Someone confirm this please ?
-
Unlike the F-15 where you can zoom your cockpit view in and out to a comfortable FOV I can't seem to find that option/control for the Su's except move forward and back in the seat not zoom.. Is this as intended or will zoom function be added later ?

I can see it now, Mig-23MLD -> Mig-25PD -> A-7E Corsair II -> F-14D. An excellent era for MP combat :pilotfly:

Can we expect anymore PFM/SSM aircraft ? (aka FC3 modules)
OB1 replied to ANGST's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
The current SSM aircraft are here to stay, as long as the PFM matches both I don't see why SSM and ASM can't live together in the same game. Hardcore pilots will just fly on server that only have ASM aircraft available and other servers will mix and match. That way everyone wins. However brand new aircraft other than the ones currently available.. Well the Mig-29 will receive an upgrade then I'd say thats about it. But at this stage in development I don't think they feel the need to quickly spit out new aircraft with SSM to cater for the lack of aircraft, I think most of the public demand is in for ASM aircraft which wouldn't be any incentive for them to develop any more SSM aircraft. Even though FC3 is their best seller that is no indication that SSM is more popular its just that there is a lack of ASM aircraft to buy and that FC3 package gives you a bunch of aircraft in one purchase. -
Yes indeed, cobra for example has the AoA in excess of 90deg but 33deg is floating around in my mind and not sure what it is, is why I ask. Could be its unsustainable limit ? But thats rather vuage too as you could say tha about all aircraft trying to sustain an AoA thats not sustainable.. I don't know but something about 33deg was associated with the su-27. But one thing im almost certain on is the 27.5 being the AoA limiter. I wish someone out there can tell me EVERYTHING ! :)
-
As we are dwelling on the Su's limiter, from memory and as said before the limiter can be turned off or pulled through. If someone can confirm but I believe its approximately 15kg force to pull through, and with the limiter it restricts the aircraft's AoA to 27.5 Degrees ? Possible departure/stall being approx 33 Deg ?
-
Guess we have to wait an see, but it certainly would be a treat if they modelled those particular systems to its entirety.
-
For BVR there is a short list but for a dogfight you could include even a 5th gen, F-35 :P
-
Right, I guess the implementation of a FCS override would be apart of the ASM and in conjunction with a PFM/AFM
-
Anyone know if they will be modelling the FCS AoA and G limiter override with the implementation of the PFM ?
-
Cheers, with that information I'll assume it does. Might start loading up on atleast two.
-
Do you know if the R is modeled to have better close range performance in game ?
-
Just a quickie, does anyone know if the manoeuvring capabilities between the R-27R and ER have been modelled in game ? Or is the ER modelled the same just with extra range ? Getting to the point of, is it worth carrying plain R's at all ?
-
Even though it is ARH it still uses a datalink right ? Surely they wouldn't design a missile so careless that would potentially home in on any object in front of it. We have fired many 120's over each others shoulders and never had this happen. Maybe this is why the Russians don't use it :D
-
I only fly online and with a group and we have discovered the R-77 is rather dangerous to use. Had a few hilarious moments and now fly rather nervously around one of our guys that loves the Mig-29. I myself and another have fell victim to friendly R-77's, and with an investigation with tackview found the pilot to be fault free. A friendly only has to be roughly in the vicinity in front of the R-77's launch platform and once the missile goes active god knows who it decides to follow. This is just a modelling issue with the missile right ? Surely the real thing is a tad smarter ?

Cheers. Another question about the Su-25; Can anyone explain how IR jamming works in real life in technical detail ? It has recently peaked my interest when I was surprised to see someone's R-27ET sail passed within a few meters from my right wing the other night in MP, and realising it must have been the jammer I enabled earlier.

Is the drag chute currently broken ?

And now you pipe in. karambiatos did a good job at explaining my source. I could give you a plethora of links stating this and that and pretty much get it to say whatever truth I want, as I said the internet is a very dangerous place, hope you don't believe everything you read. Besides you are still disregarding how my original post was written, I never stated or stated as fact anything. Your fire started burning the moment you started writing your first response. I don't mind your responses just leave the attitude out.
-
Credible source ? Link ? To be honest I don't expect anyone to find accurate data floating around on the internet.

What about the incident where Mig-25's out ran 10 missiles :D I suppose that should be excluded from the tally as they were dreaming to shoot at such ranges and speeds.
