I would buy! I have just wished for the same the other day. That would be a gamechanger!

A few things I have allreay mentioned in other threads, but I like to share my view on this discussion. I think, the tasking part will allways be quite challenging in a DCS campaign, and it must be, because its DCS and not Ace Combat. Beginner friendly is a good thing and I realy think you nailed it in that way. The probability of getting shot down by a manpad or having to deal with limited missiles is a feature and not a bug in my opinion. Fuel? I am more likely to dump fuel before landing instead of refueling. Three tanks are loads of fuel! I would have loved custom voiceovers for every AI flight but the mixture is better than nothing. You´ve allready put a lot of effort in the voiceovers and I realy appreceate that. For me personally the campaign could have been way more realistic and hardcore, but I respect your descision and I do realy enjoy the campaign as it is! Since CW Germany was not available I´m with you about Kola to be the right choise. I like the map. And its very nice to fly campaigns which are not located in the gulf or syria. Those are great maps but I like the variety. All in all I like your campaign and have great fun. I will purchase the Huey campaign soon. Without people like you who do some serious hard work, DCS would be much less alive. Thank you for a great campaign and keep up the good work!

Challenging of course. 5 feet more and I would have had to start the mission again. I think there was a little bit peepee in my pants.

Dear Reflected, whats your problem? What in hell did that poor boy Utah do to you? Chewing up and spitting out your own protagonist like this must be some kind of pathological issue... Or do you hate the player? Joking aside this was another stunning mission with lots of unexpectet sh*t and a ton of fun and exitement. Thank you! One question? Did you ever consider to let the player divert to BASE from the Hornet campaign?

I did!!!

Kola map really?
OmasRachE replied to fastfed's topic in DCS: F-4E - Northern Defenders 'Phantoms Rising' Campaign
I like the Kola map as well. I am flying the great arctic thunder campaigns from relfected and baltic. Unfortunately the winter textures dont look that great so I was very pleased that you have set it up in the summer time. I realy enjoy the flights to the IP. That said I´m realy looking forward to a sequel on the germany map! -
Hey Cyking, I did my first attempt on this one yesterday evening. Everything went fine so far. I proceeded to the target area, dropped under the clouds and spottet the convoy immediately. Then I made 3 dive toss bombing runs. The first runin was from the south and my wingman got hit by a sam but stayed orbiting for a while, while I made two other runins from the north. I got 3 direct hits and managed to distroy 6 vehicles while several other got hit. But my wingman then made a long flight to the east and divertet to another airfield, without releasing his bombs. Unfortunatly I got a mission failed. Next time I will do all three runins from the north and hope he will support me. The damage moddel of the clusterbombs is quite awkward. Given the visual impacts the whole convoy had to be distroyd especcially because the btr80s got distroyed but the fuel trucks survived. Generally this is a very nice campaign and I like what I´ve seen so far. I hope you gonna do a sequel on the CW Germany map to bushback the ruskies. The only thing I miss is a more realistic comm. First there are check in calls missing which reduces the immersion for me quite a lot. And second the chatting calls in flight seem a little inappropriate. Jester constantly talking about meat balls while germany is occupied by russia and they are about to face a deadly threat is not very convincing. Maybe you should adjust the dialoges to give it more depth. But the rest is very nice and it entertains me well. I realy like the music channel. Thanks for a great F4 campaign.

make night sky more realistic, including milky way

I´m a little confused, cause I expierenced quite the opposite. When I flew Rise of the Persion Lion there was a mission where you start from the carrier at pitch black night and fly towards the iranien coast into the sunrise. The lighting was quite stunning and the orange glow above the coastal mountains felt very immersive. Another thing I remember was some weeks ago were we stayed on our practice server quite long and got to perform an ILS approach at Nellis after refueling. The lighting went very smooth and I had to adjust the HUD brightness in little steps to addopt. So I don´t understand what you mean. -
Thank you guys. Good to see that something is in the making. All I know is that when we have a human ATC which knows what he is doing even the most boring practice sessions feel so much better and also more challenging due to the fact that you have to spend more attention on the communication while following your task and flying the plane. So if there would be an affordable fee to pay for our MP Servers, I´m pretty sure we would spend some money for this.

Cool I did not notice that. Do you have any sources for me? Would be really interested in how they plan to implement this. A little update from NineLine or BIGNEWIE would be appreceated too.

In my opinion there is one thing, that would really enhance the whole DCS experience by far. An AI ATC that replaces the Voices of ATC Controllers like AWACS, Tanker, Tower etc with AI generated random human like voices. This combined with a responsive system that captures the players voice and interpretes his calls in commands like "request bogey dope", "request landing" or "ready precontact" would just change the immersion dramaticly. Imagine you could actually speak to the ATC controllers and get a seemingly human reaction. There are programms like voice attack or even things like beyond ATC which show, that it is possible. I would be willing to buy it as a module or even consider paying for some kind of season pass to get this feature if neccesary. So ED, are you planning to do something like this or have even discussed it? Is there anybody else who would love such an ATC improvement?

Hey Baltic, first I have to tell you how much I injoy your campaign. I came as a fan of Reflecteds stunning campaigns and am playing both Arctic Thunders as suggested in the timeline sheet. I will defenetly try your other campaigns. It´s just an awsome and immersive experience and I am realy thankfull to you guys for giving me a good time. One thing I´d like to ask is, if there is anything I´m missing with the parking spots at the end of each mission. In some missions, the music with the Arctic Thunder banner appeared on the spot when I enterend the parking area at the end of the "taxiway" road. But in other missions I had to drive around and search for the right spot to get the mission complete. yesterday evening when I finished mission 7, which is awesome by the way, my lead turned around at the end of the runway and taxied the whole way back to the parking area at the southern end of the runway, so I followed him. But no matter how I tried, there was no trigger zone for mission success. I then drove back the whole way to the other parking area and even had to look it up there until finally I found it. Is there any way to identify the trigger zone which I am missing? Or could you expand the trigger zones, so that the mission success appears without taxiing arround like sniffing dog? Thanks.

I tried immortality mode but was not satisfyed after the end of the mission. I tried it without later and when I finally survived it felt much more satisfying. I think it was M04 or so. Its allways dissapointing when you get shot 1 hour or even more in the mission. Especially the Debten Eagles missions were you fly to france for hours just to hit you with the blast of your own bomb were quite challanging for my mind, but its still the only way I can enjoy it.

Yeah, thats kind of the point. Honestly its rediculous that you need tons of additional software to make DCS run smoothly. SRS, openkneeboard, viacom, tacview, voice attack, you name it. I feel like it should be EDs interest to implement such thinks in their core system. We will see if they take it on the wishlist.
