  2. One could argue about whats more important, as this is an individual question in my opinion, but you are right, the devs stated that this one has a higher priority. But when this is such a challenge and takes month to tweak I am wondering, why they can´t put the diff breaking bug in between. This bug wasn´t an issue at release, so one could asume that they just have to redo whatever changes they have made to the module that caused this bug. That should be much easier than changing the simulation of the engine an a total new way. But I don´t know if my asumptions are correct, since there is no hint from the devs whatsoever.
  3. Thanks for the care @BIGNEWY. All the complaints and discussions aside, I still love DCS, and keep investing a lot of time and money. And I am not planning to stop this. But as I said, the problem is not, that there is no visible progress, the real problem is the lag of communication. I had my argument with @-Rudel- and stated that I don´t want to push them, but nearly two month of absolute silence and ignoring direct requests are realy disapointing. I do understand the concept of early access and I do understand, that resources are limmited. I am totally fine with for example the super carrier which is in early access for a long time and still lags some promised features, but it works and I can enjoy the module as it is. But in this case it is a gamebreaking bug, which in fact got patched in some time after the release. So one would expect that a devteam would focus stongly on resolving this and even if it´s a bigger problem, they would communicate a bit more. Just imagine the viper couldn´t taxi anymore as soon as winds exceed 3 knots... I would bet your team would go for some extra hours and deliver a hotfix asap. At least you and nineline would give some feedback from time to time. When you look at this thread I don´t think this is a question of me personally desiring some fancy optional feature. A lot of people want to be able to use the module they have paid for month ago.
  4. Hey everyone, I am quite new to the mission editor but making some progress. I´ve started to create my first multiplayer campain for our squadron. I made some custom voice overs and added some sound files like siren alarm. If I add these sound files to the triggers, I can use a browse button to specify the file path for the trigger. However, the sound file is then located in a folder on my PC and not inside the .miz file. I can manually add the folder with the sound files into the .miz later (by renaming it to .zip and so on), but I don’t see any way to link them to the triggers afterwards. So how can I make sure that, on the server where the mission runs, all clients can actually hear the sound file? I have the same question for addon skins that aren’t part of the standard library.
  5. Looks like Polychop was declared dead a bit too soon. Nice to see that these modules are getting some fixes.
  6. I would have had a lot of understanding if they had said, “Sorry guys, this is a bigger problem,” or “We’re working on it, but it’s going to take a bit longer.” But leaving us with changelogs that contain absolutely no (!) improvements for this module, without saying a single word about it, is very disappointing. Even my inquiry from three weeks ago wasn’t worth a reply. They should have called it early payment instead of early access.
  7. Ok mysterious might be the wrong expression. I just wondered why you did not just post the Changelog and let everyone speculate. But you awnsered it. Just did not know that they are in deed cheking everything till the last second. Is there a fixed time when the changelog comes or will you drop it just when its finished? Just for my interrest, cause I´m quite new and don´t have that much experience with your update process.
  8. @BIGNEWY Are the devs still working on todays update until the last second or why are you so misterious about the update content?
  9. I think the DCS Hornets engine quits after a while due to fuel flow issues. I believe that because a friend of mine proved, that while refueling invertet he can indeed fly inverted for an unlimmited preriod of time.
  10. @MAESTR0
  11. What a destinguished gentleman.
  12. I just asked ChatGPT what it thinks about it, and it said that for transparency reasons, you should replace the campaign cover with this image.
  13. What a hillarious thread! Sedlo absolutely made my day. Lazy work... I can´t imagine any description of Reflecteds campaigns that would be less fitting. Lazy work is just a crazy statement. I´ll be honest. I am a fanboy. Don´t touch my Reflected. So maybe I am not neutral. But how can you blame him for the map? I mean it would be the same if you blame him for the aged look of the UH1 cockpit or the AI shortcommings in DCS. It should be clear that the whole setting (Map, Story, Assets) is just a placeholder because of the lack of an actual vietnam map. I highly recommend watching his YT videos before purchasing any campaigns. He is quite honest with what you can expect and what not. In deed very few people so often tell their potential customers to not by it, if they don´t like the way he is doing it. Lazy work...
  14. Inerresting. My own experience is quite the oppisite. I learned quite a lot from a former F4 Pilot and have recently been part of a greater package with several former and active fighter pilots as well as quite unexperienced sim-pilots like myself. Of course when you fly a mission with 30 or 40+ people you have to listen to the briefing and at least try to perform your assigned task as good as possible and some minimum requirements exist, but especially the RL pilots were absolutly supportive and kind to me. The public servers I tried were a total mess. I felt like joining a bunch of preteen dickheads in fortnite. Maybe there are better ones but I don´t see what it could give me. But virtual squadrons and moderated community events of bigger organisations are pure fun. My squardon mates helped to improve my skills faster than I ever could have dreamed of. I have never been pushed to any commitment. We train on wednesdays and our missions are on fridays. If I don´t have time, I don´t fly, and if I have the time, its allways fun. I like SP Campaigns, especially when they come with custom atc and great realism but that has its own shortcommings. It will never replacy the dynamic experience when 10 4-ship flights with dedicated roles like CAP, SEAD and Strike react to a dynamic combat situation on radio with two human ATCs and you have to keep the SA in your head, follow your lead, react to his commands and perform your task without getting shot. Thats the kind of realism I realy love. But you need the right group to experience this. And unfortunately DCS isn´t quite the right sim yet. But I still hope, it will be. #DC
  15. I just found a screenshot.
  16. Just for interrest. What is it, that some people hate of "AI nonsence" in that context? Don´t you like what SayIntensions AI or BeyondATC have shown? I mean sure there are year old systems which are way better than DCS but the puzzle-like, pieced-together radio calls with poor intonation and a lack of variety in phrasing still remain a weak point. So don´t you think that there is great potential?
  17. One of our squadron mates likes to refuel the Hornet inverted.
  18. Voice recognition shouldn´t be that hard today but it would be worthless if it´s not a total rework of the ATC system. You can literally "enjoy" this today with voice attack.
  19. Yeah, it´s a different game since there is no boom operator plugin in for you. Also you have to find some other fixpoints that give you feedback on your movement. The lights under the belly are a nice thing. I don´t find the basket particularly harder than the boom, but its different and I had my challenges coming from the hornet to the viper and phantom. You have to avoid that hard focus on the basket. Sure you have to hit it but first you should feel comfortable and relaxed and then slide it in carefully. Just like men should do anyway.
  20. Amazing!
  21. In my opinion, curves are not evil at all but they are allways just a fix and have their problems. When I started with an X52 Hotas I had no choise since it was unmanageble without curves. But if you have something like a warthog or even better you should try an extension since this is far better. When attempting to plug get in proper formation first. Make sure you match the tanker speed and try not to close in. After maintaining a formation behind the basket line up with the basket. After you are lined up try to close in with very little differential speed. Don´t make corrections unless you are realy drifting away. Try to slide in without any last minute corrections, since that causes PIO for sure. Just let go a little bit and try again. Try to relax and let lose your deathgrip from time to time. When making corrections try to use half the input you want to use. The moment you feel a reaction to your input you can start to counter it again. E. g. when your drifting aft, you apply a little tip of power. When you start closing in again you have to throttle down allready, since you would accelerate even more if you wouldn´t. When connected move a little bit further, that gives you space to react. Look at your canopy frame and try to lock that picture you see with the tankers engine and wing. Don´t look at the basket at all. Don´t look at your fuel state, it ends automatically once your tanks are full. You will be able to do so, once you got used to it. First try to plug when the tanker flies straight. You likely will lose it in the turn. After you maintain the plug thoughout the turn you can go ahead and try to plug in the turn. Try to refuel before or after every flight or even both and you will get used to it soon.
  22. Especially in a training context, being able to plan specific failures is crucial. Procedures like a flameout or electrical failure can be practiced most realistically that way. It would be nice if ED provided that — it can’t be that hard. Since there’s already a randomized failure mechanism, it should just be a matter of the user interface.
  23. On behalf of all the other voice actors, congratulations on an outstanding performance that has greatly enriched both campaigns. Good voice acting alone doesn’t make a great campaign — but even the best campaign loses a tremendous amount of immersion if the voice acting isn’t right. In both Arctic Thunder campaigns, you’ve set the bar.
  24. Ja genau, der wird über den Joystick und das Ruder gesteuert.
  25. Stick nach vorne. Richtung ändern mit Ruderachse.
