These are Head On engagement training exercises for New Players. Most fighter missions downloadable from this sight and others are somewhat frustrating to New Players. Getting blown out of the sky and not knowing why is frustrating for anybody not to mention coffee swilling stay-up late game freaks like myself. With that in mind I made some practice missions where you can see exactly whats happening and it's not so confusing with too many fighters zooming around. There are three adversary's F-16C(American)_F4E(German) and Mirage(need I say more) You are flying the Mig-29S so you have ECM on demand. There are instructions in the breifings for each Training session. You have AWACS on all sessions so Labels are off. It's a good way to start learning to fly without labels. You still have radio assist and the AWACS. Fly each one a few times and try different thing's Learn how to down those 16's with your Russian Aircraft Play with the radar and get familier with it. ( there is only a few modes) Pretty soon you'll be walkin and talkin like some of the Neofites on this site.

** NEW MOVIE: Tribute to the F-14 Tomcat **
christopher m replied to Glowing_Amraam's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Tomcat Well done; Tomcat fans couldn't help from falling for it. That's one hulking old warhorse that will be missed. Swingwing and No Thrust Vectoring just won't cut it anymore. Next thing to go will be pilots themselfs. Really enjoyed it THANKS! Best Regards, -

"Yanks" Oooops, Just a little bit of color slipping out of the hole in my head. I know, you know, I know you guy's are up for a little silliness, What ! Best Regards, -
It's East agianst West; American-European equipment against Soviet Block equipment. Let the best pilot win. You and your wingie are out to shoot down three Tornados incomming from Western Block held Crimean, They want to bomb Anapa airbase and drive your team back further. Don,t let them do it. They have two escort packages German F4E's and two Belgian F16A's You have a flight of su-27's to help you with the fighter sweeping. You also have an AWACS to help you out. Just take off and go auto pilot and watch the action unfold on f-10 then when the time is right get those limy bas......d's and maybe the SEAD package also. Be careful of the f16's don't get yourself killed. Good Luck!

MOD by Mizzy, I found the file from LO UK and tried to install with MODMAN it didn't work so I checked the BMP file name and found it was incorrect. I fixed the MODMAN file and uploaded it to LO UK and Lockonfiles.com I don't know how long it will take them to validate the upload. It's a cool cat all beat-up and scruffy lookin. Best Regards,

25T BIG Mission, Erdem, I played with the 25T BIG mission for a day and a half. It was great. I had to remove the ships and some Arty to get in the air with 10fps, I fly with everything on high-setting and no mirrors, water high only. I use 1280X1024 resolution and 4X4 AA, AS It was really nice flying long way to big battle and loitering around and blowing stuff up. I land at nearest airbase and added some Russian Helos around the base. I really changed the Arty battle field and try to get them to mix it up as much as possible. This takes lots of fps but it's what I want to see so I push my system to the limit. I'll try the 25 vanilla out next. Thanks for the material. Best Regards,

Multiple Flights from One Airfield BRD, Thanks for the info, I am not such a good troubleshooter. I will definitly try it out with multilpe flights same country. Between my Job, Wife, crazy expat existance, and LO I wonder if I'll ever be really proficient at LO. (still have not made a movie) Now BS is comming (have to start worring about hardware up-grades soon) It's an unbelievably horrible life; I know. Such a tortured existance. Oh well <sigh......> I'll make it somehow. Thanks for your advise, I always appriciate the help. Best Regards,

Player Plane Vanishes MBot, After completing the mission and flying home I find the Ilyushin is inbound for landing on my home field, I orbit for traffic and bang my plane dissapears. I looked in the debrief and nothing happend to me ie; no explosion or crash my plane just vanashed, also my pilot is not credited with the completed mission and the campaign shows the mission as not completed also. I figured the game cannot handle too much traffic around the home field at the end of the missions, so I moved the Ilyushin to land at field nearby and problem solved. It's the same if you put too many FLIGHTS in the beginning of the mission for takeoff from the same airfield, even if you make one take off from the runway and one from the parking area if they have same start time one will not spawn. You have to let one flight spawn in the air then you are OK. Or let them takeoff from another airfield. I am sure you have seen this before ? yes ? Also I wanted to ask you a question about Helos ? In the editor they land at 250KM/Hr ? wierd Also how do you get them to land in a specific place ? is this possible ? or do you have to let them choose their own landing spot ? Best Regards,

25T and 25 new missions Erdem, WOW I just saw these ! I'll chek em out right away Best Regards,

Red Hammer I finished the campaign today, It was great and really enjoyed the whole thing. MBot I know you like feedback so here goes. 1. Home airbase setup was nice and especially liked the low level flyovers of su-25's while taxing to takeoff. Helos and trucks everywhere is a must and I won't be able to do without any more. 2. Some Helos were parked on top of aircraft on missions 8,9,10 3. The observation flights and cargo flights were good also but when the Ilyushin comes in for landing same time as player the players plane sometimes just vanishes, this is not fun if you took the time to complete the mission then your plane dissappears and you don't get credit for the mission complete. I moved the Ilyushin to land at nearby air bases. 4. I reprogrammed alot of the tanks and ground units to battle eachother. alot of the start dates for the ground units were wrong and those units would not even spawn into the mission. I spent a lot of time fixing up and adding ground units. I think I got some good action out of them while I was flying over head. 5. I really like the 5000M delivery altitude for the bombing missions It seems real and a good way to stay out of trouble from the SAM's 6. I changed some of the flight paths so that you can read your waypoint indicator and begin your dive for target @ approximatly 10KM out. In that way it seems the pilot would program his flight computer so that it would give him a very good Idea that the target was just under him. This so you don,t spend time loitering trying to find the target. 7. I added some threat fighters in some missions because RAF had CAP on patrol. 8. On the bombing missions I increased the load of bombs it seemed not to much for the aircraft and they make a nice show when they hit. 9. I do think the light loads for the SEAD and low level sorties is a must. 10. the su-25 definately flies better with light load. I made an attack pack with the MOD missions and added the Supply Stop and georgian retaliation to it. Thanks for the good material, Regards,

I'm so stupid! (Smoothing Tip)
christopher m replied to Mobius1's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
smoothness Thanks for the good tip, I'll try it out on su-25 guns against stinger's/ground targets Its hard to hit those little buggers without really good control. Regards, -
Wishes Better explosions, Explosions different for different weapons, Better AI, More ground targets, More Mission Editor Options and Details, Increased program stability, less crashes

Tornado:Precision Strike (Movie)
christopher m replied to Andrew_McP's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Tornado Count me in the Old Git's catagory. I remember when I first got Tornado and how much I played. What could be better than a big fat high speed bomber. Flying a low altitude and delivering so much ordinance. I remember I really liked to use all the autopilot modes and my favorite missions were runway destruction with the munitions dispener pod stuck to the belly of the plane. I forget was Tornado DOS or was it one of the first windows sims ? It's been a really long time. Regards, -

New Su-25 campaign: Red Hammer
christopher m replied to MBot's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Day Two Missions 5 and 6, Yes I like the parked trucks and small buildings for rocket attacks. Also rocket attacks look so much better on cloudy day's. explosions look somehow better. mission six was tougher though with multiple targets to hit. Got it on my third try but had to make three runs, the last one with guns. My wingy made it home but just ..... Sometimes I wish bomb damage assesment could be done by observation flight following after the attack. It would be cool to have bomb dammage assesment by camera / aircraft with debrief after the mission and scoring decided at that point. So mission objective would just be to release ordenance as best possible and return in one piece. then mission debrief would go over the sucess of the bombing / attack...... cool idea ....... Anyway I like the run in hard and rockets away style and run out as fast as you can. seems pretty real to me. I see your new mission with air threat for greedy mud movers. I like the Georgian Team, I don't know why. I'll added it in with Georgian Retiliation Regards,
