Opinion I think a PC sim will be what ever the Producer of the product intends it to be. Not to take any wind from some people's sails but I don't think any false claims have been made by the producer of LOMAC about it's product. That said of course we can all request, suggest, and make unofficial_addons to our hearts content. And I have enjoied many of these addons. I think you cannot be too real with PC sims since they are limited by the fact not everyone has the some equipment. Many, most pepole don't have all the equipment they would like for upgrading their immursion in the SIM. I know I would love to get a touch buddy, some nice foot peddles, and of course I really need a Track IR for the upcomming BS. I think PC SIM's are really limited by the sensory devices available. I don't knw how many times I have dreamed the dream of flying a SIM in a real cockpit with a real canopy that shows 360degree/6 DOF view. That would be a sensory device worthy of a 100% accurate SIM. Otherwise the limitations of the LCD screen and the other sensory inputs for the user really limit the degree of accuracy as far as SITUATION AWARENESS goes so you cannot have completely accurate, real world simulation. I think it would not be fun. And I do want to have fun.

history 1. Fleet defender then expansion pack for Fleet Defender 2. F15 Strike Eagle III "MUD HEN" 3. Panvia Tornado (Loved this sim) 4. EF 2000 Then I got too busy with life for about 12 years and just came back on the scene with LO and FC. Lately I have been OBSSESING OVER Command and Conquer "Generals" and Command and Conquer "Zero Hour" I know they are four years old but they are new to me!! I also am going to go out and get JTF pretty soon but I am afriad I will not eat or sleep for a week if I do. HELP!! I am a real life junky; without my wife I would prob have expired long time ago. Question ? Ever noticed how women are 99% unimpressed with computer games ?? Whats up with that ?? sorry OT. Regards all,

New Tutorial:: Flying Online: A Beginner's Guide
christopher m replied to Ironhand's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
online tutorial Thanks for this tutorail. I have never played LO on line becuase I think it would be very different experience than SP mode.(less immersive and more headaches) Headaches include, compatability issues, ping rate, bandwith issues ..... Also don't relish being slaughtered by sharks waiting for fresh meat. I also think the online play is mostly geared twoard the fighter jocks who are a different breed than ground pounders. (I count myself as ground pounder) Although I have some time in the Mig; and really appreciate that bird in LO. Thanks for your efforts and rep_inbound. Best Regards, -
Your Favorate Mission....

password, Carlos73 Yes the password is "eagle" It is the common password for most missions that can be downloaded. Regards, -
Blackhelecoptors Movie Hitman, If you look at that last movie release from ED Blackhelecopters The AI for the ground units did not show much improvement. But I agree that Alfa is trying to say there will be some improvement. Looks like we just don't know the details yet. I was told the movie was three months behind the development of the product so they may well be working on AI behavior as we post. One thing is for sure "If you want some real work done you better call in the guy's who work in the MUDD!!" (said by me) Regards,

cannon impacts, Yes, I noticed from inside the cockpit the cannon looked like it had improved bullet impacts. (maybe I was hallucinosis?) Some of the exterior shots for other helecoptors firing cannons looked improved also. Since we are going to be working so much closer to our targets I for one would like to squeeze the cannon trigger and like Russell Crowe said "UNLEASH HELL" That would be so relaxing don't you think ? Regards,

effects ? Noticed the dammage model on the BS looks really f_---_good. aLSO NOTICED there is no dammage model on the tanks and ground vehicles ? The explosions and bullet impacts look like they have been tweeked just a little _ Not too much. I saw the landing showed improved Dust and Blade Vortex effects. Wonder how close this Vid represents the end product ? Just Wondering

tuff pull` Yes we wore parachutes but no "G" pants. I was lucky to get the free ride cause the cost was about 750.00usd per flier. After pulling up out of that dive I almost lost my breakfast on the dash. When my vision came back the pilot was starring at me wide-eyed asking are you OK? (translation: are you gona puke?) After the flight when we were parked and engine off I asked the pilot "You can do that all day long ? " He said yes and he also did some kind of stunt flying in small planes that are like the crop sprayers you see in southern Ca spraying the cotton crops. He said that is real flying, he said Jets "suck" and he didn,t like that kind of flying. He was a pretty serious pilot so I didn,t argue the point with him. I would do it again in a heart beat if the chance came up. Seriously fun. Barrel rools are sooooo cool cus your stuck to the seat and looking up at the ground below. Regards, -

mipmaps ? Zaelu, Could you explain the mipmaps again ? I was wondering for LOMAC: If I need to enable force mipmaps on my nv 6800GT card to bilinier or trilinier ? and what about the trilinier Optimization ? on or off ? and the Anisotropic mip filter optomization ? on or off ? Just questions about LOMAC really other wise I wouldn't bother to much. Regards,

Lockon.UK It's also Lockon.uk now. The home page is Lockon.uk now; but the forum is still lockon.ru ? I don't know why ? Probly preparing for BS distribution ?

MAKS 2005 I got the vid for the Sukhoi_MAKS_2005 It's the coolist Air Show vid I've ever seen. A lot of heart in those Russian Vid's. Question: bSr.L()Csta ? Is that the plane you took a ride in ? I did a similar thing in 95' I won some on line contest with Elect Arts or some such Calif company and they gave me free flight with I think it was Combat USA ? We flew out of small airfield close to SF Ca and out over the ocean. We did sim dog fights with two planes (italian, prop, two seaters) I got the first fight. In the second fight my friend got behind me and I did a straight down dive. On the pull up I got 5.5 G's and didn't black out but I lost my vision for a while. (pilot was screaming in my ear "pull up-pull up" ) Just wondering was the flight and experience (MAKS) worht it ? Regards, -

Mig 29M Nice pictures thanks, Airshow season really gets me down since there are no airshow in Thailand. I should try to make the Singapore show if they have one this year ? Mig 29 Vs Su 30 is kind of like; Mercedies Limo Vs small sports car both have their advantages but not all can afford the Merc so the Mig definitely has a market ? Have they sold any to anyone ? Would be nice to see it operational. And what a blast it would be to have it .......... Oh well ................ Regards, -
Rouge Forces, tflash, Super Cool ! I am all over it. Will report back when finished. Regards,

OT: Need some advice please [(AGP) 6600gt or 7600gs]
christopher m replied to Che's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OCuK question I was looking to see if OC uK could ship outside of uK ? I would really like to buy one of these AGP boards but there is this invisible barrier to international sales of consumer goods ? Computer stuff is hard to get in Thailand and most or all Elect Distributers cannot ship to overseas locations ? It's not really a small world after all just one full of trade barriers and exclusive distributorship agreements. (haves and have_nots) My grandfather would have said: "Nobody promised you a fair world when you were born did they ?" Regards to all, -

7000 series Yeh Sleek, I just noticed these are avialable now. I was looking a few months back and nothing was available. Now shaabam! ( the marketers didn't forget me after all) I will have to do a little work to find one in Thailand though. I could really go for that 512mb ram (yummy) Price is of course very high (starts drooling) Regards, -

The 7600 GS is a PCI card not an AGP Believe me I would love to get a 7000 series AGP for my system But I don't think they are available. OOPs OK I just found 7800 AGP card by BFG link attached; I am going to get it if I can find it in Thailand. http://www.bfgtech.com/7800GS_256.html -
Fighter Ops I went to their page and looked around. When they started asking me for money for some kind of exclusive prewiew club I did a quick Immelman and bugged outta there. I am very excited about the upcomming release of BS. I will buy it as soon as it is available. Groundpounding is about to take a quantum leap. It's going to be fun.

Strange Times NK is pretty scary. Japan is taking them seriously. I wish someone would perfect MICRO UAV technology and fly one in his ear. Recommend: Joe Haldeman, "Mind Bridge" Frank Herbert, "Destination Void" David Brin, "Startide Rising" AA Attanasio, "In Other Worlds" in that order. Best Regards,

ACMI This will add greatly to everyone's enjoyment of the game. Really amazing ! I knew they had this for training centers for real pilots but to have it for the sim is just great. Best Regards,

Su-25 mission - US landing at Sudak
christopher m replied to Weta43's topic in User Created Missions General
US Landing @ Sudak Weta, I've got to admit your missions do tend to dim the lights in the neighborhood when I first click "FLY" No problem, I just call the PP and tell them to dial up the voltage a bit. That said part of the problem is of course individule machine performance and individule machine performance settings. I really like all the detail in your missions. It's great to get a mission so built up that you can literally play it for an hour if your endurance is that good. I think these mud moving missions lately are a small preview of whats comming in another month and a half. I just hope the effects for explosions and different kinds of ordnance are improved (also sound effects) Can you imagine 25t'sand Ka-50's and 52's all pounding a single target area? With all the response fire comming back ? (What kind of processor will I need ?) Thanks,
