PaddyTB replied to getsno's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
One things for sure. It will take the glory out of safely returning from a mission. Swagger into the club.... "How dangerous was that! I got me a blister" :noexpression: -
Little Things eh? 1. Fire crews that respond to crashes within airfield perimeter. 2. Trees that bend in the wind. 3. Lights that turn on and off randomly in buildings (airport?) occasionally. 4. Rotating Green and White control tower beacon. 5. Coastal Lighthouses that flash proper sequence. 6. Birds 7. Radio Chatter. :noexpression:

White boxes at explosion locations...
PaddyTB replied to waterinthefuel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hmmm. You got me thinking hitman. Textures are the likely answer. However the problem is totally random. Starts off fine with everything looking ok and goes weird after playing for a while. I have no mods whatsoever. No installs or uninstalls. But things (graphics) have been going missing as of late. Sometimes during online play, things like hud and radar turn into green boxes where there should be text. First time it happened I thought I had taken a missile hit as I lost my hud and avionics. It seemed weird at the time as there was no bitchin betty. Not even green boxes just totally blank. Looked at stats and I hadnt been hit at all. (Well that time anyway) I have an ati x800 pro which I flashed to an x800 xt about a year ago. maybe I am finally getting problems with my "cheap" upgrade. Looking at Pilotasso's specs, I think I like his solution. ;) Sadly it will be end of year before next upgrade. Looks like a race between BS and my next upgrade. Cheers PaddyTB -

Actually I have been getting these white boxes recently as well. I havent changed anything either. Its just been doing a few things weirdly lately. Seems to be only light sources that are doing it. :hmm: -
So what exactly will be "possibly" in Black SharK?
PaddyTB replied to VVanks's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Man, those movies are sensational. Thanks guys. Or should I say damn you. :noexpression: I have managed to finally be quite patient about BS and content to wait. But after those.... well... Now look what you've done. I want the thing bad again now. lol. Thanks very much ;) -
 Have a good one, Pilotasso.

Most awsome hardware you ever had for its time!
PaddyTB replied to Pilotasso's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Most impressive. 1991 When I dropped a Maths coprocessor in my 386 DX 25. The jump in CAD performance was amazing. Most Fun. Getting a second Voodoo2 for $50 and running higher res SLI for Janes F-18 Cool thread  -
Very nice Rockwelder.

lol. Good one Cosmonaut. Just what I was thinking. <High pitch voice> "Help me" </High pitch voice> ;)

Thats real nice man. My "official" next upgrade is still 12 months away. Probably still get it before BS ;)

Who plays online and who does not.
PaddyTB replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Online is great. More social. Much more rewarding too. Whether you are Good or bad, there is nothing like your first online kill. Can have a bit of a joke with the other players too. Playing offline, the computer seldom gets the joke ;) Come to think of it... Playing online, people seldom gets my sense of humour ;) But like many others have said, offline is good for testing and experimentation. If I want to have fun. Its always online. If you think "Oh, I'm not good enough for online play" thats just BS. Get in there, you'll have a blast. Most people are generally very helpful. What have you got to lose. Just don't teamkill. I am guilty of that at times. (unintentionally) -
I can Looks cool. I have no idea what it says, but looks cool.

Not meaning to offend Poko, and I may have been a little harsh in my previous post. So I'll edit it. I would agree they they DO have their place..... but they dont have to be every place. This marketting stuff creeps into everything. If I pay for something (eg. a hobby) I really dont want someone trying to sell me something in the middle of it. Be it subliminal or right in my face. If its a free or heavily subsidised (by advertisers) venture, all well and good. Bring on the ads. But not in something I pay full price for. No way. Well Heya, nice to meet you. Its what forums are all about.;) Cheers PaddyTB
