  1. The "Reservist" obviously didn't mean carrier landing F-15's. Sierra99 is correct, exchange programs are common and some USAF pilots get carrier qualified on other aircraft. Sry kuky if i posted in the wrong thread, but i was kinda hoping for a serious conversation about this, insted of transferring me to page 571 of a thread that nobody really has any soild input other than a "wish list" and endless rederick about things that dont pertain to my topic (and maybe im wrong, but 570 pages is ALOT to go through).   3. DCS:F-16??? So i've noticed so far, and plz correct me if im wrong, but is nobody working on an F-16? I mean, I understand the prejudice about it, like "been there, done that" but seriously? This is the plane that really could bridge the gap and bring alot of people to DCS, who had already dedicated the better part of their lives to learning the F-16 in various other sims (for starters, not to name names but three letters and it starts with a b and ends with s...). What it comes down to is virtually no learning curve. Those people could just jump right in, no questions asked, no training videos, and start rocking peoples faces off. Don't get me wrong, i love everything about what is planned for DCS so far, but learning new planes can be a daunting task, so it seems only natural to have a module that the flight sim community has been familiar with for many years now. Does this make sense to anyone or am i just smoking crack in the corner by myself?
  4. hi moose, i posted something simular in the fc3 forum about joystick sensitivity and it seems like u must use curves, unlike other sims where a straight curve works just fine. i hate having to use curves because u can never accuratelty judge when the response will start to ramp up the sensitivity, however it seems everyone here uses steep curves in all their profiles. i wish ed would adjust this problem so the aircrafts can respond more precisely near center with a straight/linear curve. i just cant fathom why people would want to use any curves at all not to mention the massive curves required to fly the fc3 plans. just my 2cents...
  5. I'm no expert by any means but it sounds like maybe you're switching the inverter toggle down insted of up? And look around you"ll find the hog hotas cheaper than that
  6. Man guys I appreciate the uber quick responses! Outlaw, I have already tried what your suggesting and it works, kinda. My point was I dont want any curves, force at max, and a smooth ride 401TIGGER, if you seriously have precise control with ZERO curves in FC3 lemme know how you do it, like i said, A10 is butter baby....so is everything else for that matter, just FC3 seems over the top
  7. Hello all! I'm aware of another post by Necc in the dcs forums about sensitivity problems with another joystick but I figured I'd start another thread about the x65f specifically related to FC3 (I think).... As the title suggests, the sensitivity of the stick is way too much. I generally fly with F1 set at max pressure (22.1lbsf) and then tone the other ones down incrementally several steps, however on MAX (F1) force all the FC3 aircraft seem to respond far too harsh. By that I mean, practically just breathing on the stick causes the aircraft to roll or bank ultra sharp, with no precision whatsoever. I regularly play DCS A10 and Falcon BMS, and have lately been dabbling in Blackshark, and none of these titles have this kind of joystick response (in fact A10 is love muh!). I always play with ZERO curves of any kind, I find a linear response is the most realistic, however steep curves seem the only practical approach I've found thus far in FC3. So I'm curious if any other x65 users feel the same way, or do you guys just use curves, or is there something I'm missing here?:helpsmilie:
  8. If anybody else is still having this problem I think I might have figured out the solution. The key for everything to work is having the firmware in the controller already flashed BEFORE you plug it into windows7 x64. I myself had to use another PC with windows XP 32bit just to flash it, and btw, at first it didn't work in XP 32bit AT ALL either, but it did allow me run the HOTAS cougar update, and then it magically seemed to come alive. After that i just plugged it into the win7 machine and it seems so far to be working perfectly.
