[not a DCS issue] problem Oculus 0.7 on DCS Beta 1.5

Hi , Actually no, it's not working outside of DCS... the test demo from the control panel starts only on my main monitor and does not get to the display of the Rift. :( The camera led is blue and the Rift light always stay orange ... Dont know what is going wrong... When I get back installed to the 0.6 everything is back working but of course this is not working in the DCS 1.5 and that's what I'm trying to get it to work. any clue on something missing installed ? -
Hello , :pilotfly: I'm having problem to get the Oculus working on DCS 1.5. I did the update of Oculus Runtime 0.7, but in DCS 1.5 it's not working anymore. It was working perfectly on DCS 1.2.7 with Oculus runtime 0.6. but now with this latest 0.7 I can't make it work. Here is what I did to try making it work and maybe someone can help me out. Did I miss something ? 1) I have un-installed the Oculus Runtime 0.6 2) installed the Oculus Runtime 0.7 3) started DCS 1.5 and selected the option : Auto Detect Oculus Rift. 4) Exit DCS 1.5 4) restarted DCS 1.5 After this, I see on my main screen the DCS window but can't figure how to make it work displayed in the Oculus...? Anybody have any clue on why it not working? Is there anything more than the oculus runtime 0.7 that I need to install any help on this will be very appreciated guys ! thanks ! :thumbup: Here are my PC Specs: OS : Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 Processor: Intel® Core i7-4820K CPU @ 3.70GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.7GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 VideoCard : NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Black --- Main Display 1 : Viewsonic 27 inch + Oculus Rift DK2

Actually all is fixed now I finally found what was wrong, so I will share this for other people that might encounter the same problem. A short story to understand...Initially the file I modified was from the original BETA, and I have kept this file in use for our Squadron custom skin. A-10C_Fictional_CA_CAF.zip In this file you have all the texture files for the skin and one tactnumbers file that is use for the aircraft numerotation. This originally was in the Beta time a TGA file including an alpha channel. By doing some manipulation I must have deleted this Alpha channel by mistake so this is why I had a problem. After I have noticed that the full sim was with a .dds file so I switch it back with an Alpha channel in .dds file and now it's working. Thx to Hog_driver111th with your answer you made me revised all my process and I found where the wound was... :) Now it's working perfectly :)

ok thx for this info...I will keep this in mind. The only thing tha could maybe fixed is that all Flight aircraft have the same call sign... I have mod the missions for it to be different per aircraft and now we know who is talking to the tower...hehe! the patch 1.1.1.0 is for many more problem than ever before. Dam it ED... you've done a very good sim for now... try not to brake it too much with the merge of BS2 and other package plz... :/ Even tacview is not working at all anymore. :( Some have posted solution for this but it does not work... they are (Vyrtuoz) working to do a bug fix for Tacview I heard. -

yes we tried last weekend...but it seam that the SEAD are not really doing their work... we always get hit by SAMs all the time like crazy. -

Deephouse, thx for your reply...I will be able to sleep tonight knowing that the TV tower was a pain for you too ;) Do you know since the new DCS patch to 1.1.1.0 if your mission still works? We tried Gridrion tonight and the SEAD team seam not to get their target and going in the opposite direction of the target (if I noticed correctly) Anyhow their task seamed not to be accomplished in orther to tell us that the advance could take place... :(

very well created mission deephouse ! Our group of the 5EVC really appreciate the realism you put into those. We also sometimes do ME and we know how much time it takes to build that kind of deep thoughts into making missions. We did it tonight with failure unfortunatly... the pilot was captured by the ennemy :( We were wondering about the comm tower that is been asked to destroy... did someone manage to destroy it? we dropped onto it 6 MK82 and nothing happened... I will check tomorrow a playback of the track to see really what happened...but it seamed indestructible :( I'll give you an update later on tomorrow. thx again for this mission...was really a fav among our group. Operation Gridirion also was super cool to try out... very difficult too... but we are up to this challenge to keep us on the edge. all other mission after this one are easy ;P

I have found actually many Server.lua file... but I manage logically thinking that the one to edit must be the one in the /Config/View folder. I tested on a quick mission I did and hit the Left Shift F4 and I still get the regular view from behind... cant seem to understand really how this should work... X( ...

I changed the the lines like I was suppose to : from : CameraTerrainRestriction = True to CameraTerrainRestriction = False and RearCameraPos = {} for RearCameraPos = {o[1] - 11.8 ,o[2] - 2.5, o[3]} I'm testing into a mission editor that I did to test it quick and hit Left Shoft F4 and I still get the regular view from behind... cant seem to understand really how this should work... ok that is why I dont get it... but where can I find this GUI manual... can only find in the download section, under documentation: DCS: A-10C Warthog Flight Manual DCS: A-10C Warthog Quickstart Guide and nothing else regarding DCS W. But thx Nomdeplume I will set my sound pref something close to what you are recommending.

Hi im looking for the info on how to understand the UI of DCS W and apparently nothing is in the manual... whell didn't find it if it is. Can anyone enlight me on the different element in the sound preferences and the Graphic also... so I could understand what is going on? I dont hear much the tutorial audio vs the engine that make a lot of sound. Also, what settings do you recommend to have a good immersion of the sim? has real as possible. many thx :joystick:

Hi there, I was wondering if there is a way to fix the display of the HUD in a 3 monitor configuration...? The thing is that a friend of mine too shy to ask here in the forum to get help to fix his problem have this thing with his 3 monitors configuration that the HUD display seams to miss some area...and then so is not very practical. here is an image that I have modified to show you what it does... how do you think this could be fixed? Anyone with multiple monitor have the same problem? thx in advance! :pilotfly:

thx TRoe13, you understood what I meant... it is exacly what I was looking for. Guys... try to understand what people are actually saying... not twisting words or anything... anyway...didn't want to start a war here...lol :D The HUD is just a piece of glass that is receiving a laser projection of digital information, so its like an image painted on the glass...so if your head is moving toward it, it get closer, and yes it tends to get larger since your nose is close to it....anyway, you get it now I guess what I meant in the first place. cherck this : http://www.headupflight.net/album/HUD%20Appontage.jpg http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/images/f-16_hud_020410_09.jpg Thx again all for your helping llights! :D

Hi all, I know I have found before the thread but now I cant seam to find it again... I am actually looking for how to fix the scaling of the HUD considering the use of Track IR5 that makes it by default always on the same size... even if I move my head toward the HUD the display always seams to stay far away... Can someone help me finding the post on how to edit the config file to resolve this please? thx ! :thumbup:
