i have had the DL version since release..I havn't got those program's but have "never" had a single problem with SF..go ahead and buy it..it's worth it ;)

It definatley sound's like some form of light behind u.. i got a window behind me and when the sun is shining my TIR goes nuts..unplayable. It's the only place for my monitor,so there not much i can do,except get thick lined curtains..or just brick up the window lol!

I thought I'd post here for Saitek owner's about the support i recieved from Saitek. I first noticed something was wrong with my X52 when the mode switch was hanging between modes..then my twist rudder started to play up (after about a year's use). :cry: So i posted my problem over at there X52 forum..here's my thread..http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=9646 about my faulty stick. They asked at first to take it back to the store I bought it from which i did,only to find out they'd discontiued the X52,np's coz u get a 2yr warranty so i was advised to send it back to Saitek in Bristol U.K Basically it took only one week & one day (man,I was lost without the thing lol! )to be returned to me,on the box was a note (with my original reciept) saying that my stick had been "repaired & refurbished",so i thought ok..it's been fixed...great. :) To my supprise on unpacking the stick I realised it was a brand spankin new X52! :joystick: To all Saitek owners don't throw away your reciept (like I did with my old X45 :music_whistling:) just in case something does go belly-up! Now I can get back up in the virtual sky ;) Anyway..Great Support & Great customer service (something you don't get that often nowaday's). :thumbup:

good post..one thing i will point out tho is as soon as u go online (HL)all u see is the strobing on ur hud due to a lot of pilots using there ECM..hard work then for new pilots to IFF

I wouldn't know yet? good point. But i just had a thought..the x52 has a mouse ministick that emulates the mouse,so i guess u could zoom in with TIR then just move the mini stick to a clickable button then use the small button next to the ministick to click?..would be cool ;)

ok..hold tight and bear with me..this is what i know on ground effect. Ground Effect: If u were very slow and cautious in raising the collective,u may find that the helicopter slowly rises a short distance and to the hover a few feet off the ground without any change in the collective setting. If this happens,u can congratulate yourself on having demonstrated ground effect,riding on an air cusion produced by the rotor downwash. Ground effect magnifies the lifting power availiable for a given collective setting,but the effect falls off quite rapidly with height,and dissapears altogether at a height equal to the diameter of the rotor disc. Rough or sloping ground,violent manoevering or strong,gusty winds will all tend to spill the air cusion,push it off to one side,or prevent it forming in the first place,so a wise pilot is cautious about depending on ground effect for the lift needed to stay airbourne. In any case,for our first transition to forward flight we want to climb rather higher than this-say to a minimum of 100 ft/30mtrs. As u approach the desired height,ease the collective down slightly and weight to see the effect. Remember that a helicopter has momentum-the faster u were climbing (or descending),the longer it will take for your verticle speed to change till it actually reflects the new collective setting. As u lower the the collective,u'll also need to coordinate with pedal input. With practice,u can anticipate the effects of ur control input's..but be carefull in the early stages-it's hard to avoid over-correcting. Phew! sry bout the long post but i hope this helps some peeps to understand Ground effect in helicopters. p.s theres more to it..but i hope the kinda explaines Ground Effect.
