  1. sexy jet; I think that people underrate this bird; shame that it cost so much; if that wasn't the case it could have been a great replacement for air forces still using mirages III and V around the world. Now check this video narrated by it pilot What a flight control system! I would love to know if the mig-29k can pull this moves. He says that he uses full ruder and roll!
  2. Uh I wonder what kind a problem? computer problems; could that affect the yack-130?
  3. nice GT man! don't forget to check the 2013
  4. It would look better using real mustangs and b-17 instead of all cgi stuff; just my 2 cents.
  5. wow that is skill! Check this out t-50 at maks 2011 by Konstantin Khmelik Su-35
  6. I didn't know aircraft could develop tumors!:megalol:
  7. wow I need to get a new pc that just looks amazing!
  8. People stop crying; what about those ps3 and xbox games; they release maps all the time and they cost money; what about playability; those console games you play them until you finish them and that is it. They also cost almost 60 dollars when new; black shark is only 20 dollars. I play FC2 almost every week and still get spanked by some guys on the servers; let alone the shark; I haven't learned all the systems yet.
  9. I'm sorry for your loss

  11. su-34 at MAKS Air show by Konstantin Khmelik! wow!
  12. ahh if sims could capture gs and the effects of spacial disorientation; I tock a ride on a cessna two weeks ago and now I can't look at my sims with the same eyes  we did a couple of 60 degree turns and the gs (only 2 gs) felt like crazy; now imaging pulling such a move on a real glider!
  13. is this a pc only game? my computer would puke in my face if I try to play something like that!
  14. Dude; allow me to show you this: Why are they still flying if it is retired? I don't know; I don't know what they are doing with it; maybe they are testing stuff; maybe they are doing secret ops with it; remember that secret helicopter used to kill bin laden? nobody knew of its existence until that day, then, why it is so hard to believe that the f-117 is not totally retired as they told us? If it was at to me, I would do the same; why not keep using a machine that is still useful for my no so public affairs? and if it is not grounded like my new replacements. Don't you think that it would be dump to scrap the f-117 right now? I believe that they are not in official service; but instead; they are kept in flying conditions in case they are needed; or at lest some of then. I don't buy that idea that the thing is already obsolete; It may be if you compare it with an f-35 or f-22 but... those are not flying you know, also, not everybody in the world is using high end last generation radar equipment (I know someone is going to say something about the f-117 being shoot down before) That jet can be used for some black ops you know.
  15. And you know; anti aircraft operators not always keep their radars on to shoot an aircraft, because they know they can get targeted by an anti radiation missile. SAMs also have several modes to guide their missiles; they may use a short blip of the radar to locate the aircraft speed and position; then they would launch the missile without radar guidance, after a few seconds, they would point the radar to the enemy estimated position, get a lock to guide the missile on the last seconds of its flight path, and BANG! toasted sneaky kill by SAM. But that tactic is more like a guerrilla tactic; some SAM sites are multi layered; that way enemy aircraft have a though job killing them; that is where the wild weasels come to play... unfortunately most of that stuff is classified. Lest see if someone else can point out more detailed info about the subject.
  16. So what is the procedure to make the cobra; what switch needs to be turn off to do it? how long does it takes? what would happen if in a dogfight you successfully executed the cobra but you have to keep maneuvering to shoot down your enemy; does the pilot has to reverse the switches position to keep fighting? I have done the cobra in the sim; and sometimes it worked and others it didn't; it worked like for example to do an r-73 kill using a quick snapshot. it worked when I was in a rolling scissors agains another flanker; both of us where fighting to fly slower to get to each other six; I was loosing because I was going a bit faster than him; I decided to pull the cobra move; he went pass me unable to shoot at me due to the previous rolling scissors; he, instead of using his speed advantage decided to turn tight; I was able to gain some speed and got it with the gun. It worked against me when a guy pulled a cobra while I was close to his six; he got me because I assumed he was not going to be able to out turn me on a loaded su-33. I got careless I guess. It has failed miserably when: Enemy is too far; you pull the cobra move and he gets a nice top view to shoot at. It has failed when the enemy is expecting it; he keeps its energy and pulls away gaining advantage. Now all this is on the sim; we just hit k and pull; and whoa-la! (as long as you are not going too fast), but what is the real world procedure to do a cobra? on a su-30mki you just have to have the tvc mode activated and you just pull at from 250 to 350 to do it; but that is a tvc aircraft. How do you do a cobra on a mig; I have seen migs doing it but they don't reach 110 degrees like the flanker; it looks closer to a high alpha pitch like on the f-14.
  17. f-117 "retired" mmm... are you sure?
  18. Wouldn't be easier to project everything on the glass of the cockpit? so what happened to the helmet; I told you guys a custom fitted helmet for each f-35 pilot is too much specially if they cost that much, That helmet needs to be universal or come in sizes with all the goodies as a detachable accessory.
  19. I think they disabled the cobra move in 2.0. What I read about the flanker is that it uses a tensiometric stick; it applies a pressure of 20 pounds of pressure, that way the pilot knows he is pushing the machine close to its limits. The pilot is supposed to be able to override the limiter and be able to push pass the g limiter and the alpha limiter. The problem with going over the limiter you can stall the aircraft ; but with the difference that the flaker seems to be more stable tanks to the lifting body design and the twin tail design. Here is a video of the flanker pulling past the limiter I guess. On this video I assume the pilot went past the alpha limit;so This supports the idea that the flanker does not have hard aoa limiter like for example an f-16 (I really don't get why the f-16 does not have twin tails; it would have kick ass at lower speeds and higher alphas like the yf-17) All these are my observations; you would have to ask a real su-27 to know for sure. I also read that to do the cobra you disable the limiter; maybe the limiter diminish the rate of movement of the elevators? that way once you dissable it you can pull the out of normal pitch rates to produce the cobra. Once the airplane is over the 30 degree aoa limit the pilot uses the trottles to keep the airplane straight. There are some videos on which the flanker doen't remain straight; thus supporting the accounts of pilots using the trottles to keep the jet straight. After the airplane slows down, the nose goes down; I don't know if it is because of the weight of the nose of the aircraft or all the drag produced by the tail section and center fuselage. Now going back to our sim; lock-on does not simulates some of the of the high alpha behavior of the su-27; mig-29; and f-15. I wish it did; you can do post stall moves though; by staling the jet and keeping it controllable using the rudders; I don't know how realistic is that; to me the rudders are a bit too effective; again I can't prove that. Another thing you can do is fly with acs failure; that way you can pull like 13gs and have very cool pitch rates; with the side effect of stalling more easily. Here is what you can do in lock-on Check this out; an f-15 pilot says that the flanker is very similar to an f-15 http://www.eaa.org/warbirdsbriefing/articles/1001_flanker.asp

  22. I wonder if the j-20 is going to have good sustained turn rates; since the wing is placed so far in the back.
