  2. Was working on designing a mission that had an overcast layer that started at 8000 feet. I would like to place a couple of JTACs to target some air defenses in the area. I would like to task hogs to do it with JDAMs, but I'm not sure that its very realistic to have hogs do this without visual on the target. Bottom line, is this tactic actually in the A10C bag of tricks and Included in their doctrine. Anyone with any knowledge on this willing to give their informed opinion? PM would be fine too.   3. Sure did. Set them to follow an AI Huey and they snapped to it with military precision. Frustrating.

  5. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, there are no enemy within 20-30 miles. Have 2 AH64 that spawn a few miles from the airport. They have a FOLLOW task assigned to my Huey. I lift off almost immediately and fly directly toward them. We pass and they simply continue on to near my designated "breakoff" WP for them and they circle. I have read a few posts that give the FOLLOW task mixed reviews for following humans. Markeebo

  7. I have been toying around with the idea of having some Human-driven Hueys picking up a downed pilot with a pair of AI Apaches for Escort. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an ESCORT task for the Apache. I tried the FOLLOW command with them and assigned them to spawn airborne and follow the huey that I was driving when I entered a zone. Unfortunately, they simply motored off toward the nearest airport and away from me completely ignoring the FOLLOW task set. Any ideas? Bottom line, I just want them to stay close and engage any OPFOR that they would come across while on station.... Markeebo
  8. Been flying this with some buddies. Fantastic mission! We have yet to finish due to time constraints but the immersion is second to none. I was amazed by the fact that you had that many voice files and still keep the filesize of the overall mission quite low. How did you make your recordings for the voice overs? They sound quite realistic? Yet are very small in size. Markeebo

  10. Unfortunately, my buddies and I ran into the same problem. 2 Huey's and 3 Hogs. The Huey guys had some TARS issues and were in and out a few times so I chalked it up to exceeding time limit in the triggers for the Blackhawks to spawn. In our case, Mission failed because the Blackhawks get shot down. After we exited, I dug into the triggers to see if my guess was correct. The spawn trigger for the Blackhawks, as it is written, WILL allow them to spawn after 12 minutes and anything less than 4 Huey's are present. I tested it by sitting on the ramp for 12 mins once in Chevy 1-1 and once in Chevy 2-1. At 12 mins+ a few seconds, they spooled up and taxied out each time. So by using the OR statement in the trigger, any ONE of the 4 conditions makes the statement TRUE and the "start" command is sent to the Blackhawks. To further test my theory, I simply removed the "OR" statement and the extra TIME SINCE MISSION statements. This would now read that Chevy 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 needed to be missing(out of zone) and 12 minutes(720 sec)had elapsed before the logic was true and the Blackhawks spawned. I tested it by sitting in a cold Huey for 15 mins. Blackhawks remained cold. As they should. I then joined a Hog to simulate having been shot down or having never spawned a Huey and the Blackhawks immediately spooled up. Don't know what has changed because I can't recall them spawning in the past. But they certainly do now. Bug fixed in 1.2.5? I dunno. But at least it's working as I believe you had intended. Still one of the best-built and well thought out Missions that I have flown. Sorry for thr long-winded response. PM me if you have any more questions if I didn't provide all of the info needed above.   13. Thanks for looking into that. Only recently discovered this mission and was really having a great time seeing how it morphed each time you added a different airframe to it. MUCHO RESPECTO! Looking forward to seeing if the update to the update fixes this. AND to your continuation of this. Markeebo
  14. Thanks for the fast response. Really love this mission and the concept. Had a look into the triggers.....WOW, you have put in a ton of work on this mission! Can't say enough good about it. If/When you find something confirming the bug/error, please drop a post on this thread so I can keep up with your findings. One last "bug" that I noticed that might or might not be correct is the trigger that spawns the Blackhawks(Pontiac), there are 4 conditions separated by and OR statement. All 4 refer to Chevy 1-1. Shouldnt those each refer to a different Chevy so if someone gets into say Chevy 2-1, Pontiac wont spawn? Markeebo
  15. Great fun mission! Well thought out. Since the 1.2.5 update+hotfixes, the mission will CTD the host almost every time the Hueys or Blackhawks drop off their insertion team. You will get a couple of words from the audio file about Delta team with boots on the.......and CTD. I can only guess that the spawnverifyteam.lua is stumbling on something and causing the CTD. I have had it work a couple of times but cant really seem to put a reason on just WHY it worked that particular time. I had thought that perhaps it needed the Host to be in the landing Huey, but I had a buddy try that theory out and he CTDed in the only Human controlled aircraft spawned in the theater. Any takers?   16. Tested as described and it works as advertised. Thanks for the help. I am working on a mission that has a pair of eagles departing 52 min into the mission. I set then to uncontrolled and the editor wouldn't allow me to change their start time.....so I locked ther start time and of course, the boxes turned red because the speed required to reach waypoint 1 was down to 3.xxxx knots. I haven't had time to check but I would assume that sine the aircraft are locked in place for 52 mins, the avg speed required will rise accordingly and be normal at their activation time. Right? Thanks again for the advice.

  20. I am having a devil of a time getting the "uncontrolled" option to work. As I understand it, having an AI aircraft set to UNCONTROLLED will allow it to sit in it's assigned parking space as though it were static until its time for it to launch. I get absolutely nothing on the ramp. I set up a test with a single F15C on the ramp. AI skill set to High so it knows no one will be flying it. The aircraft is set to depart in 12 min. This is my trigger setup. 1 Once Set Flag On (1), No Event, No Condition Defined, Flag On 1 (I set a "msg to all" on Flag 1 true In another trigger to notify me that the flag was indeed on....It is) Next trigger 1 Once No Event, Condition= Time Since Flag = 720 Seconds linked to Flag 1 On, Action = AI TASK Start(defined in the triggered actions in the Airplane Group Window) Select Uncontrolled and enter the mission. Nothing. He spawns in place and on time(12 mins after Mission starts) I'm definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I would love to have someone school me on what I am doing wrong. Markeebo EDIT:Added MIZ for review. Bottom line is........I want to populate the airport at the start rather than having them spawn out of thin air. This .MIZ is a quick test to see just what I am doing wrong. Uncontrolled test.miz
  21. I tried these 2 files and had a couple of problems.(Only tested SU-27) 1. SU-27 Could not get X axis to work. All others were fine. Roll, Pitch, Yaw, Y, and Z were fine. X translation would not function. 2. SU-27 My view shifted right in the cockpit. Its like I am now sitting on the right side canopy rail or console. Tried a couple of other files as well with the same result. Tried copying and pasting, and I tried hand typing as well. Same result. I have SU-25 and SU-25T working from another post and they are fine. Wierd Any takers? I am all out of ideas.:dunno: EDIT: Tried the other A/C and 6DOF works well. Just have problems with the Flanker.
