DCS Visrtual Cockpit for Android (iControl DCS)
boarder2 replied to boarder2's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I'm not super familiar with TARS and don't really have any way to test it but I can say that I did install it and I saw logs from it initializing, so it does appear to be working while DCSVCS is installed as far as I can tell. Something to check would be in your Export.lua, you should have lines similar to this dofile(".\\A10VCServer\\Main.lua") --A10VCHook dofile(lfs.writedir().."Scripts\\TARSExport.lua") That file is located at C:\Users\YourUser\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts Those are the two lines that call into both DCSVCS and TARS. If one or the other is missing, that's definitely a problem. If that doesn't help resolve the issue, feel free to open a support ticket at http://support.bit-shift.com/ and we'll dig a little deeper into what's going on in your environment. -

This is a bug that was introduced with an update to DCS World recently. I'll try to take a look at this soon too! -

I'll see if I can figure out why it's not working with TARS. -

This is a problem I'm aware of. I believe it's an issue currently with Helios too. Haven't been able to fix it yet, but it's on the list of stuff to fix if it's possible. Something ED changed in a recent patch broke this. I'll have to see if it can be fixed or if it's a bug in the sim itself. At the moment, I don't have plans for KA-50 or UH-1H, but it's also on the drawing board. -

I've never used it but I'm 99% positive that it won't work with Windows 8+ Microsoft made some massive changes and restrictions to how virtual displays work in Windows 8. So if you're running 8 or 8.1 it won't work. Otherwise disregard and "I have no idea" :) -

I believe they will play well together. I don't use Helios but I'm pretty sure others have successfully. -

Anyone have thoughts on what functionality they'd like to see next? Radio stack, ILS, TACAN, LASTE, STEER, Hat directionals in single MFCD? -

Not yet... I love my Win 8 tablet. We'll see if the platform gains more traction this holiday season. I did get a prototype working shortly after the Win 8 SDK was made available. Just haven't finished yet. -

Unfortunately, that's the only way you'll be able to get it on anything. -

I'm not sure then. Could you open a support ticket at http://support.bit-shift.com and I'll see what we can do about figuring out why it's not working for you. -

Sorry, not sure what you're asking. You can position the displays anywhere on any monitor. I wish ED gave us direct access to the displays so we didn't have to repeat them as well. -

You need the Google Play services on your device in order to use in-app billing. You also need to be signed in to Google Play with the account you want to use for purchasing on the device as well. -

That is where they stay. They need to be exported to a display attached to your computer in order for the server to grab them and send them to the device. You can check out FAQ entry #1 here http://bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html#faq for some alternative methods of exporting them that aren't supported but seem to work fine for most people as long as you're not running Windows 8. -

There's help for setting up the server here: http://bit-shift.com/a10vcserver/index.html#help Once you've done that, all you need to do is change the settings in the app to point to the IP address of your PC. -

Yes. You can enable or disable any of the exports in the display configuration screen within the server. Right click and select or deselect the items until you've got what you're looking for. -

What is nvidia 3d? The sim has to run in windowed mode for the CDU/MFCD exports to work, unfortunately. -

iControl DCS - Android - interest check
boarder2 replied to boarder2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It's here! For the initial launch, switches and dials aren't in - so radios are out. They'll be coming soon as an additional in-app purchase. Right now you can get live MFCDs, CDU and UFC. Grab the "all" package to get everything at a lower price than individual unlocks. It's free to try so give it a shot! http://bit.ly/1hDt8pr For those of you looking for just a CDU, you can get that now! Feedback is welcome and encouraged. Updates will be coming soon. I'll do my best to get this up to par with the iPad app as soon as possible! -
Glad you were able to get up and running again. Does seem odd that it wouldn't work without updating. There's also a known issue with iOS 7 and the manual address entry dialog. I'm working on a fix for that but don't have an ETA just yet.

iControl DCS - Android - interest check
boarder2 replied to boarder2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had a proof of concept of this up and running but gave up on it because of some limitations in the RT SDK. I'll revisit it after the Android app gets up to snuff with the iPad app now that 8.1 is out. -
I'd say make sure nothing changed on your PC. Still connected to the same network, have a valid IP address, etc. I think you opened a support ticket too? I'll get back to you on that later tonight if you're not able to get it worked out. It does seem like something that's probably with your network configuration though. The apps definitely didn't change :)
