  1. That's odd, I don't have any option for "Easy Communication" in my GamePlay Options tab.
  2. +1 Would also really appreciate someone sharing their profile. Thanks!
  3. Okay, I must be really stupid but when I click on a link to download a file from the ftp site I get asked for a user name and password but nothing I enter works! What user name and password am I supposed to use? I've tried what I use here, on the main site where I purchased it, my serial number... I'm stumped! Help appreciated. Never mind, clicked on the HTTP link and it starts up just fine. :)
  4. Aside from wanting an A-10c, instead of the Apache I'd rather see a Cobra! :pilotfly: :)
  5. Hey great! Glad I could help at least one person with that one.
  6. Sorry it didn't work for you. :(
  7. Personally, I'm looking forward to the A-10c. And I would love to see some sort of campaign in the F4 tradition. Lost many hours of my life to that sim...
  8. I just reinstalled BS to try out the new patch and found that I had the exact same issue as you do. The solution is simple, at least for me, so try it and see if it works for you as I've had to do this for other games. Find the launcher.exe file in Explorer and right click on it and choose Properties. Then choose the Compatibility tab. Check the Disable Desktop Composition box and apply. It should now work without any issues. Good luck!
  9. I haven't played BS in many weeks and just tried it again. Black screen and computer is locked up. Despite adding DCS.exe and Launcher.exe as trusted apps in Comodo it is still a Comodo issue because if I shut it off it runs fine. Do you know what else I need to give permission to in order to run it? Thanks!
  10. Now that sounds intriguing! :)
  11. I thought of that but then how can I deactivate it if the game doesn't work? I'm not sure how it all works as I haven't done any of it yet but I am assuming that it will need to be working in order to deactivate it. I could be totally wrong here and that's why I'm posting this question to try and find out what's the most painless way to start with a new OS. Ideally I'd like to wipe out my current XP install and then install Vista and either have BS still work (like IL-2 would) or just be able to reinstall over the current location without having to use up an activation or deactivate first just put in all the registry stuff that's needed, etc. So I was hoping that someone else may have already done what I'm trying to do. Thanks for the response!
  12. I've decided to finally switch my gaming rig's OS to Vista 64 Ultimate (BS being the main impetus here) and I have BS on another HD from my OS. My question is do I still need to deactivate BS and then reinstall it and reactivate it or can I just leave it where it is, install a fresh copy of Vista and still have it run (like how IL-2 doesn't need any reg entries to run) or just reinstall it over itself without the need for reactivation? I don't want to waste any deactivations/activations if I don't have to. Thanks for any help and insight you can give!
  13. I'm curious as to why numbers don't show up on the new skins. Is this related to how the skins are made or is it something to do with the game? Is there a way to get your own number on a downloaded skin without working on the skin itself. Thanks.
  14. I finally figured out what happened and fixed it! In case anyone else runs into this problem. I actually had a lockup while playing 2 days ago. First time it happened and it's happened once again. Well when it happened the first time it evidently corrupted the Effects.dll as this was the file mentioned in my crash log, actually it was the same log for every single crash I've had. So I just reinstalled the base files and no more crashes. It was weird how it only affected the At Missile and nothing else... So if you start having weird crashes after a lockup then just reinstall the game and you should be good to go!
  15. I've found that I can fire rockets and guns but almost every time (I say almost every time because once I was able to successfully fire an AT missile and see the target destroyed without a crash but the next missile did crash) I fire an AT missile the mission crashes. I've now reinstalled my video drivers, DX9 latest and lowered the game resolution from 1280x960 to 1024x768 and nothing has made a difference. I guess the next step is to reinstall the game? I'm guessing here.
  16. Starting this morning I have been getting crashes every Singleplayer Session mission I try. I've played it for two days without any problems, until this morning... It happens when I have a target locked up and fire an AT missile. The mission then crashes. That's the mission not the game. Has me stumped! I haven't changed anything on my computer since yesterday, just put it in standby. The only thing in game I've changed was the water, from High to Normal. I've put it back and no difference.I've rebooted, closed all running programs and it still crashes in every single mission. I've tried dumbing down the graphics, I have nothing overclocked, just isn't making sense to me. Any ideas? Here's the last crash file I just got attached. Thanks. DCS-20081224-015740.zip
  17. HUQ, thanks for finding this one and posting it. A squadmate of mine pointed me to this post and it helped big time with the major pausing I was experiencing. Thanks again!
