  1. Tried it again with a squad mate hosting the mission as a multiplayer mission. This time, as host he was able to rearm/fuel at the road base, and the CK-37 in TAKT mode showed the proper 111110 code, which indicated that it worked. When I landed at the road base, I used the kneeboard to load 4xRB75's (mavs) and 2xRB74 (sidewinder) and 130 fuel (DT). While it showed the percentage completion up to 100% and that was completed, all stations were empty (and the CK-37 showed 000000). So it appears this is still not working for multiplayer.
  2. Looking good Zeus - now I'm looking forward to your next video showing you refueling with that tanker! ;) I can envision some upcoming tables from virtual pilots showing many of the various combinations of ordinance and fuel adding up to ~20,500 lbs so they can reload at FARPs and perform VTO :D
  3. It's a MP mission (I.e. pilot = Client) I was testing via the (single) mission interface, not hosting in Multiplayer.
  4. What about when The Igla/Stinger troops or larger SAMs placed via crated run out of ammunition? Unless there's a way to replenish they would just add to the number of units in the mission if left indefinitely. SAM launchers would be more visible, but if they are not firing at anyone, especially a single soldier, I imagine no one would likely be able to see them let alone killl them. Based on this, some sort of time limit makes sense (e.g. 6-9 hours so they exist across 2 or 3 contiguous missions).
  5. Sort of works for me. I was doing a quick test with an air start Viggen, loaded with 4xRB-75 (Mavs) and 2xRB-74 (sidewinders) and drop tank. After firing the RB-75's at ground targets, I landed on the road, stopped next to the vehicles and was able to use the kneeboard to refuel and reload the same loadout. Everything worked, refueled and the weapons were loaded, but the RB-75 sight would not turn on (weapon selector was on RB-75, trigger safety cover on (safe) then off, no change). Also, I noticed when I had the CK-37 computer dial set to TAKT only the first number was 1, the rest were 0 - seems like the computer didn't recognize that the RB-75's were loaded, just the RB-74's. When I tried again, but this time landed at a normal base, I was able to reload the same loadout and the RB-75 sight turned on this time. I'll try again with a ground start and see what happens. Also, this was an MP mission but flown in single player mode (Missions menu, not Multiplayer menu from the main page).
  6. That or "Light Multi-role Fighters" since they both have limited air-to-ground capabilities. I agree, +1
  7. Yes, very nice write-up... thanks Zeus, yet another tidbit to keep our excitement for this aircraft up :).
  8. Thanks for the update Zeus! Yes, it does look very complicated with all of the various weapon release states this instrument controls. I anticipate a whole chapter in the manual dedicated to explaining all of the weapon release features/modes/etc. this instrument implements in order for us to hit targets accurately :) Keep up the good work, so looking forward to learning this aircraft.
  9. Looking good - I like how the weapons display shows the remaining number of rockets in the pods, very handy. Keep 'em coming Zeus!
  10. The OP mentioned Blue Flag, which is using the release version. The BK90 MP fix is in the Open Beta version at this time. Release has not been updated yet (maybe tomorrow?)
  11. Thanks for the replies - the manual in the doc folder wasn't updated so I wasn't sure if the new behavior was documented anywhere. I'll look for the patch release notes for more info, and the link Buzzles provided.
  12. Flew the OB Mig-21bis today, one thing I noticed is that when the 3-4 pylons are selected for A-A missiles (R-60), I pressed the weapon release button and one missile from each of the two pylons left the rails. Is this a new feature? I think it's always been like this, but you really had to hold the trigger down for a bit longer. Now, it seems I can't fire just one A-A IR missile if I have 3-4 pylon selected. I have to select 3 or 4, and then only one will fire. Anyone else notice this? Is this expected behavior? Thanks. Relent
  13. OK, will do, thanks Dolphin.
  14. Ok, was thinking about trying the updated Mig21bis today. I have release and open beta installed. I followed the instructions in the SF PDF, backed up both bin directories (release and OB), and deactivated the Mig21bis. I did not uninstall the module from either DCS (OB or release) and prior to the update I would get the usual dialog after starting DCS release, that I need to activate the Mig21bis, to which I clicked Exit and continued on in DCS release. I have now updated DCS OB, so I will activate the Mig21bis the next time I start DCS OB, so I'm good there. What about the release version after I activate the module? I realize I should NOT fly the Mig21bis module in release at this time, but will simply starting DCS release after activating the module cause any issues re:activations? Should I uninstall the Mig21bis module (for now) in release before I activate the module and try it on DCS OB? Thanks
  15. I feel the same way - and a big reason is the RAZBAM team having these show and tell updates, keep 'em coming! One other simple reason is the challenge of performing the STOL and VTOL maneuvers without even thinking about the combat side of things... more playability.
  16. Looking good Prowler!
  17. Thanks for the update Zeus, its like we're watching it grow into an adult with these incremental enabled features :).
  18. That's fine, the principle still works the same (even more so - in my examples I was landing with the Lagg3 and La5, which also have no locking tail wheel). The key is keeping the throttle up a little as mentioned after touching down - this keeps a significant flow of air flowing over the tail surfaces - including the rudder - thus minimizing the tail slide.
  19. Hey imacken - I don't as yet have the Spitfire module, but had similar problems with another WW2 sim with tail draggers, where upon landing and slowing down the aircraft would ground loop (spin around the main landing gear, making a nice doughnut on the ground :) ), and often drag a wing tip. The most important thing that helped me upon touching down (assuming I had cut back my throttle all the way), was to increase throttle to approximately 15-20% power, pulling back on the stick 100%, and gently but steadily applying ever increasing brake pressure until I came to a stop. The issue with me (and maybe you) was that when the aircraft slowed down, there wasn't enough air flow over the control surfaces (esp. the rudder and elevators). By increasing throttle and pulling the stick back, there was a constant flow of air over the elevators, keeping the tail pressed against the ground, allowing the rudder and, more importantly (if it locks) the tail wheel to provide more directional authority. Hope it helps. Relent
  20. If you can find suitably flat areas (especially next to roads for say an AJS37 :) ), stringing three FARPs together might negate the need for an AV8B to roll off the FARP, onto a road for example. As long as the three FARPs don't have steps/bumps where they overlap, it might have enough length for an AV8B STOL take off after refueling/rearming.
  21. Oh, never mind then - I didn't know this was related to the bug just mentioned, I was thinking just a generic issue if the OP didn't realize they had to initialize INS...
  22. It depends. In your options, I think the special or misc tab, there is an option for the Mirage to require INS initialization or not. If you choose the option requiring initialization (it's a check box, going by memory here), then you would need to initialize INS or your compass will be off quite a bit. If you choose the option that does not require it, then when you start up it should then initialize on its own. In multiplayer servers, the server controls if INS requires initialization or not - but if it doesn't you'd still need to have that option set on your client properly or you'd still need to do it :).
  23. They shouldn't if you press lock once, which switches to TWS mode. Only when you press the lock button again which switches to STT mode should they get a warning tone. Assuming it's the same if you are in a Mirage and are the target. Haven't tested the latter recently so can't verify at the moment.
