I tried resetting everything. And I could not get the timer on the MAV MFD to appear so I’m guessing these things aren’t warming up…..? I don’t know. I must be missing something but I just can’t figure out what it is.
3 minute warmup on the MAV-F. Could be that. Your steps seem right. A track is always helpful rather than people guessing what you did wrong (sometimes description of what you did misses something critical).

Do you have either A-10C or A10C-II installed? Won't work with the A10A from Flaming Cliffs.
Are you sure it's BOUGHT under the same account as you're RUNNING DCS under? You'd be surprised how many people get caught by that one.
Otherwise, you're better to open a support ticket with ED to see what's up.

... though it's a shame not the same prices are offered for both stores even though I understand Steam takes the cut from each sale, but still, customer should not pay for that IMHO.
That's not why there is a difference. Steam has fairly recently changed their policies so they no longer allow pre-orders. That's why you can't get the "best" price on Steam (although some modules had it set to that price for the first week of release since you couldn't pre-order).
Personally I have no issue if ED did want to bump the price on Steam to compensate. It's reportedly a significant cut that Steam takes (20-30%) for very little benefit to ED but most of the "benefit" of using Steam to the customer. Generally I don't really care since I don't use Steam anyway

I want less launchers running in background taking up overhead or extra mouse clicks, not more. I want to run DCS as it is right now without a launcher at all.
If you look at the screenshot, if you set the "run launcher on start" slider to OFF that's what you're likely going to get.

No ($48.99), however the Early Access price ($55.99) usually is - sometimes for a short period/during sales and sometimes for the life of a module until ED decide the module is out of early access (this doesn't always align with ED's own store and perhaps is done to offset Steam's cut of the sale price?).
Steam has changed their policies which makes pre-order sales impossible. Not being done by ED to offset Steams cut.

Check your anti-virus. It has likely quarantined a file or two related to the Harrier.

Unfortunately 10 GB is likely not enough space for the update to download and unpack itself for install (since likely at least some of the 10 GB is tied up by Windows too). Your solution is to find a way to make more space on the drive or expand your storage.

From a cold start i don't think they are. I could be wrong.
You are incorrect
. At least if you load the bomb's in the Ground Crew menu after cold starting it will automatically put the code set into the Stores page info. Not sure if I've checked that on a mission editor loaded loadout though

True, i believe in a very short EA or perhaps no EA at all. However, i still think that the development time would be shorter since they wouldn't have to worry to implement all the switches, circuits, cold start procedures, all the mfd subpages (for modern jets), complex simulation of INS systems (like they have done for the F16C now) and everything else that makes FF jets study level.
ED have stated in the forums that there is much less difference in development time for FC and FF aircraft than most people think.

@BIGNEWY I'm sure more details will come out as we get closer, but will we be able to bounce from our aircraft to the Air Boss station and back again or strictly able to enter it as a role the same as an aircraft? I ask because I just had it happen on our virtual squadron server where the carrier started a u-turn just as I turned final on my Case 1 recovery (and ironically it had started to turn and the bounce crunched my gear prior to takeoff for the same flight). Would be nice to be able to either stop it or check if it was about to turn while in flight.

Thanks @rob10, never noticed that myself, never really looked at his track before, obviously a Tacview user.
Actually I noticed it in the briefing, then was paying attention to what he actually did on the SA page
. Some navy guys in my virtual squadron so I'm trained to do left turns
. Like I said, minor detail. I appreciate the detail in the briefings.

Very minor thing, but in the M1 briefing it shows Matrix as doing a right hand orbit over target whereas he (correctly) does a left hand orbit in the mission itself. Overall well done campaign so far!

Hi @rob10 No reason apart from, beings its an exercise they decided to locate it at a known point WP2, the airbase. I will look at the f10 B/E and change. In the campaign just follow the ones on the kneeboard.
Thanks. I realize it's a small thing, but having the bullseye on the map match the bullseye actually used in the missions (even if it's the same as a WP) can prevent confusion.

I understand the B/E WP is indicated on kneeboard (and I saw it when reading the brief etc), but is there a gameplay reason to NOT put the F10 map B/E at the actual B/E location? I normally set B/E as WP 59 which matches the F10 map B/E location and didn't realize that it wasn't on the mission B/E location until I couldn't find the ships and pulled up the F10 map and noticed B/E indicated was nowhere near where it should be.

Search in the Viacom subforum. There was an issue way back with an old version of Viacom causing issues if it hadn't been uninstalled (even if you weren't using it).

I assume you mean the extra details don't save if you save the loadout for future use? This is more a wishlist item rather than a bug because IIRC ED have indicated it is not currently supposed to do so. Hopefully will be added in future.

Post a track and we can tell you more. None of what you describe happens to me or the people I fly with, so unless you have a track for more detail no one will be able to help. Hint: ED didn't change a thing with the landing gear for a good while now.
Agree with this. Is it easier to break now: heck yes. Was it nearly impervious previously: hell yes. So in my books (not having flown an IRL Hornet) it's probably a lot more realistic now. I can pretty much tell if I'm going to have broken gear based on how I land. How are you breaking it on takeoff (land/carrier?)? Post a track because your experience is not typical.

The issue isn't Norton or Macafee. Why is Razbam using a trojan in the F15E files? Mcafee & Norton are doing their job of protecting your computer!
Defender is an open game and is weak! I love this know it all community!
How many examples are there in the forums of McAfee and others throwing an alert that later get whitelisted by McAfee and others over the last 10 years. How many examples of ACTUAL problem files have been found in DCS?

Check your antivirus quarantine file. Likely a .dll file for each of them in there.
Multiple reports of this. See for example:

I fixed it. Stupid mistake on my end. I loaded too many sound files at once. I now changed the .wav's to .ogg and created a sound library inside the .miz, so I don't have to load them in via triggers. That fixed the issue
Thanks for coming back with the solution! It may help someone else that runs into the same thing in the future.

Currently Kola is more demanding than even Syria/Sinai from my experience. Not as bad in the air, but on the ground it's definitely going to push your computer hard. Likely some optimization still to be done (one hopes).

An important question here: does DCS simulate every single bomblet? Or does it do some averaging that might produce no hits even with a good drop?
They have previously stated that each bomblet is modelled, but they do not display each bomblet/bomblet explosion for performance reasons.

I think you mean the option named "OFF <> DIM". These are for switches, yes. But there is another set named "OFF/DIM". These are toggles, or no?
Hmmm. Haven't had a chance to jump in the Kiowa and get it set up yet, but that does seem logical in which case your original point stands.
-
Those are designed for use with a SWITCH, not being bound to a button. Depending on the switch it may need this kind of set up to use it. Other switches may need the OFF, DIM, BRIGHT type bindings. So while you are correct that it would be nice to have both, it's not wrong that they have those bindings.

LGB with JTAC, No TGP
in DCS: F/A-18C

If you're aiming at a WP as an IP to drop on but you're after a moving target, the target is probably far enough away from that point by the time the bomb is looking for the laser spot that the spot is out of it's FOV. A track would definitely help.
Also, are you making all the calls to get the JTAC to actually lase:
1 - call in at IP
2 - call for LASER ON
3 - call SPOT -- without a pod not sure how you're going to be able actually spot, so this may cause issues.
4 - call "IN FROM THE N/E/S/W" as appropriate
5 - WAIT for "CLEARED HOT" confirmation or "ABORT, ABORT, ABORT" call
