That would not explain the red sign. DCS says there is a confict, but my DCS does not find any with the same custom controls.
Didn't look back in the thread far enough to see that. You're right.

Have you tried a different mouse? Do you have any software for the mouse installed (i.e. Logitech controls) that might be causing it to do something different than you think? Sounds like it's an issue on your end somewhere.

Thanks @Minsky. It is still waiting approval in the user files section? I see the last update on the post is still Aug '23 and I get a 404 when I try and download it.

I don't want to import anything. I just want to save what I set in the controls menu so it will be there when I fly again.
Do you realize that you don't need to SAVE your setting to keep them? Once you change it and close it will update your settings. You only need to save if you want to move them to a new computer or if you're reinstalling etc.

The fact that you have two entries for "ANTI-SKID Switch - PARKING BRAKE" and they are orange indicates you have some sort of problem in your bindings file and is why it isn't working for you. Do a search because I've seen the issue before but I can't remember all the details. You may need to re-create your F-16 bindings file.

LOW on the HUD should be an indication that you're too low for the fuse to arm before impact (i.e. fusing cue is below FPM). Could be glitching that if it's showing that whole flight though and I'm not positive that wasn't a BMS rather than DCS note I had on it..
-
Nothing obvious to me in that (not positive on # or % in names is OK). I assume you've quadruple checked all your names? One misplaced capitalized vs lower case or the number 1 ("1") or zero ("0") vs letter L ("l") or letter O ("O") can ruin your day and be hard to spot.

While I'd like nice looking conifers too, Orbix did say in a post or interview somewhere that they tried a number of things to make conifers work and couldn't come up with a solution that didn't kill framerates. Hopefully between ED and them they will keep looking for other options that will work.

I cannot seem to add a kneeboard file to the onboard kneeboard for the F-16C. I am hoping to add a start-up kneeboard for my own use but i doesn't seem to appear. I am putting it at C:\Users\Me\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\F-16C, I've also tried adding it to the main directory, still no joy. Anyone else got this problem or am i doing something wrong?
Thank you in advance.
Needs to be \F-16C_50 at the end. Note the underscore between the "C" and "50". If you're off on the correct aircraft naming it won't work.

You could try to revert to the DCS version prior to the update that started this problem, using the dcs_updater.exe utility.
Problem with that is you may run into compatibility issues with the mission created if you're running current DCS on you main computer.

I think it was an older implementation of the Tacan that got changed. So now you dont use the AA mode. I guess some of the videos you mention might just be that old.
This is the answer. You shouldn't use A-A mode with the tankers currently. Use that for TCN yardstick between planes, but that's it.

I have tried McAfee anti virus still not accessible.
What exactly do you mean by this? If you have McAfee installed that would be the 1st thing I would look at as causing your issue (it is a common culprit). Check if it has quarantined one of the F-16 files. Even if you've added an exception for DCS now, if it quarantined a file before you did that, it won't put the file back.

I actually have a rotary set up to change pages which can whip thru them pretty quickly.
The other option would be use an AutoHotKey (AHK) script to insert the bookmarks each time you enter an aircraft.

Title says it I guess, how much does DCS hit the internet connection when in single player mode?
Can you play single player DCS on a slow internet (say 100Mbps down, 50 up) even if you've good a beefy computer? (64mb Ram, 4090)
Single player your internet speed should only come into play when you're downloading updates (or the original game download). You probably want to verify at launch as mentioned above, but that really doesn't take much bandwidth.
Even MP can be played on fairly low bandwidth connection as long as you have a good ping. I have a slow connection (took me 24 hrs to download Kola) and the only "problem" with MP is that it takes me longer than others to join the server, but once I'm on I've never had issues (ping usually 40ish).

Hi rob10, thanks for your reply. I keep getting the following errors in autoupdate_log. Any idea what can be the cause of it? I also attached my autoupdate_log file for your attentions.

BigNewy is referring to the physical pots in your joystick. It's not a software issue with your game, it's a physical hardware issue with your joystick. You should not be getting that kind of movement when you're not touching the stick. Your stick appears to be sending inputs on its own causing the issue.

This is where I am. Updater says "Downloaded 71.4 of 120081.7 MBytes Speed 0.9 MB/s" and has for a LOOOOOONNNGGG time. Going nowhere fast.
If the 1st number is not changing I'd cancel and restart it. It will pick up from where it left off, although it will initially say "0 of xxxxx" but the "xxxxxx" will be smaller than the current 120081.

Yikes. If you're not touching anything when that's happening there is definitely some sort hardware issue as BigNewy said.
-1 on the rudder could be due to mis-calibration, but that's a small enough number that the deadzone should be overcoming it

Do you have a deadzone on your rudder? If you're using a twist axis on your stick that might easily get turned slightly when you're holding it in flight
-
IIRC it was posted somewhere that the changes were accidentally left out of the last patch. Not positive it was this campaign, but I think so.

Do you have "Simplified Flight Model" ticked in the OPTIONS/GAMEPLAY menu? It often does not work well.
-
It won't directly convert over in all cases, but I'd suggest looking at some tutorials for general aviation (i..e MS Flight Simulator etc). The principles are the same, even if there are differences in handling. You likely won't find a lot of "flight" tutorials for DCS. I know I came to DCS with a good understanding of flight from MSFS which made life a lot easier.

I don't think a fighter jet needs cozy comfort unless you're my age.
Considering the multiple hours they may be stuck in that seat while patrolling with tanker support, I would disagree.

ED hasn't used torrent for download since about 2020 (near as a search reveals date wise)

What anti-virus are you using? It's likely getting a false positive on something in the F-4 and quarantining a file. ESET, Kapersky and Norton are the most likely to do this to you.
