  1. I could be wrong (haven't flown the F-16 in a while), but I presume that's because there is a delay before the alignment process completes (as BigNewy alluded to) which could equally cause confusion when it changed the switch.

The problem is that Winwing requires that DCS is in windowed mode, not full screen mode.

Sorry, but that's not correct.  I just double checked to be sure and my DCS has the "FULL SCREEN" option checked.  Not sure what you're doing differently, but I full screen is no problem for me.

So, if I understand correctly, all the cash we spend on these current maps means we will lose in the global map? I thought the existing maps would be incorporated in the global map eventually, isn't that what Wags said in the interview or ...

The existing maps definitely WILL NOT be incorporated into the world map.  They are made with different technology which makes them incompatible with each other as it is currently, and since world map will be massively different they definitely won't integrate with it.

As draconus said, the old maps won't disappear (you should still be able to use them), but they won't be part of the global map.  I don't think even ED knows exactly how they are going to handle the overlap when it eventually comes out.  We have no idea yet if world is going to have "optional" detailed areas or how that will work.

  4. While I would love to see fixes for all the bugs, I trust ED to prioritize/direct dev's appropriately.  While it might seem "easy" to just put everyone onto bug fixing, the likely reality would be that they'd be falling all over each other and creating more bugs as two (worse when it's 3, 4, 5) devs working different areas change something that impacts the area the 1st one was working on.  They'd be chasing their tails trying to figure out if it's what they did that broke things or if was something that someone else did.  There are a lot of things that are inter-related in something as complex as DCS.

  5. Something to keep in mind is that while DCS models each of the submunitions, it DOES NOT display ALL of them for performance reasons (on top of smoke obscuring the ones that are displayed).  So there will be more individual bomblets than you will visually see in game.  That might be part of the reason Tacview doesn't show them all either.

uring the first video you can see when i soft lock an aircraft the designator box looks smooth on the hud with aircraft movement, but on the second video its a stt lock rather than soft lock, the designator box becomes jittery and its like it loses its refresh rate.

You can save a track file in the debrief screen after you end a mission.  This provides ED the actual inputs that are creating the situation which lets them better replicate it.  A video may or may not show EXACTLY (i.e. you may do something off screen that influences it) how you got to the situation which is why they want a track file.

  7. What anti-virus are you using?  ESET, AVIRA, Kapersky and Norton have been causing issues with the recent updates.  Haven't seen issues with F-14 reported yet, but there are a number of people reporting issues with their anti-virus and some .dll files that look similar to this.

    If i buy each region seperatly, i get 32 (Southwest 12 + East 12 + North 8 ) HD airfields?

If i buy the total map in once, i get only 28 HD airfields?

    Or i'm wrong?

IIRC there is some overlap between the different regions, so there are likely airports that included in more than one region, so they'd be double or triple counted in the region counts.  If you buy the full map you'll get everything.

  9. Won't pass IC check, but you can change it here:

    \DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua

    dedicated_viewport  = {3910,2437,600,700}       --  <<  AT LINE 33

It is set as "default", you'll need to figure out what co-ordinates you need to use.

Oh, and another pro tip: My Winwing stick and throttle work superbly on an USB hub. However, SimAppPro will NOT recognize them through the hub for the "Device" tab. Cost me another hour to figure that out. Quite a mess, this software ... 😞

I have my F-18 MIP/UFC and throttle (original Orion) connected thru a hub and no problems on my end with SimAppPro seeing it in device tab.

  11. A shorter/smaller track file would be helpful.  I just few some MP training and had no problem with 2nd GBU 38's on dual rack being X'd out.  Dropped 4 of them off 2 racks.  And my GBU-12's exploded even though I had dropped the GBU-38's 1st.  All set up on the deck at startup.

  12. As I said, post a track and someone can likely pin down exactly what your problem is in 2 minutes.  It's really not that difficult to save the track at debrief and post it and it saves people guessing what you might or might not be doing and actually give you a meaningful answer.
