  1. I haven't played with unity in awhile but it looks like there's a direct GitHub integration these days. https://unity.github.com
  2. Odyssey+ has two screens. Each one is 1440x1600. BTW do you have the code for this project on GitHub? I'd love to check it out and potentially submit some PRs for improvements if you're open to others helping.
  3. OK I mostly got it figured out. I had to set the resolution to the *whole* resolution of both displays in the HMD for it to work. Since the Odyssey+ is 1440x1600 in each eye I had to set DCSLeap to 2880x1600. That corrected most of the problems. I'm finding the gestures difficult to do but that's probably my fault or my configuration. The major issue I'm still having is that DCSLeap will frequently defocus DCS especially if I activate the left hand. It will just grab a random window that's near DCS and cause the mouse to stop working in DCS.
  4. Unfortunately this isn't working for me. I confirmed in the leap debug utility that my hands are correctly detected. When I start DCSLeap and activate tracking for one of my hands (palm up with fingers spread) then the mouse cursor gets constrained to the far left of my view. The cursor does not move with hand movement. The cursor does move with head movement, but it moves in the opposite direction of the head movement. I'm using a Samsung HMD Odyssey+. I followed the instructions carefully. Any ideas about what could be going wrong here? edit: OK got it partially figured out, the driver didn't register correctly on install. Fixed that and can move my cursor with DCSLeap but unfortunately when DCSLeap is activated the cursor still gets moved far to the left and remains stuck over there. The cursor also moves in the opposite direction of my head rotation. It's as if DCSLeap thinks the left edge of my screen is the center and all head movements are inverted.
  5. Do you have the code for this project on GitHub? I'd love to see how you made it.
  6. This looks amazing! Thanks for creating this. Looks like I need to buy a Leap...
  7. How did you set up your controls for using motion controllers? I tried it out briefly with the odyssey+ motion controllers and it was cool but some controls didn't work well at all. Any rotary switches went crazy when I tried to grab them, there was no way to accurately turn them.
  8. I'm also curious about this. I can't find any information about the difference between "normal" and "legacy" motion reprojection.
  9. It is good to finally hear any news about this project. It is great to hear that ED will be honoring the kickstarter commitments. I don't think the details of what happened to RRG are all that important. What I (and I think others) want to know is this: What is ED is going to do going forward to ensure that kickstarted 3rd party modules can/will be successful? I want to back more modules so my favorite sim can grow but I think we all need to have our confidence bolstered to consider backing any more 3rd party projects at this point.
  10. The last development update was on April 25th, nearly a month ago now. Is there any info about the status of the project? Has something gone wrong that has delayed or stopped development efforts such that there are no updates?
  11. Yeah I also sent 3 email with no response
  12. Two emails sent and still no reply or access to the backers section =(
  13. I am also interested in learning when existing FC3 keys will start working with steam. Is there any information other than "keys sometimes get uploaded monthly"?
  14. Really great resources! Exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for! Thank you very much.
  15. I have played with the settings in a bunch of configurations -- even turning EVERYTHING down to minimum still results in poor FPS so I doubt that the problem is with my graphics settings.
  16. So I have been just sort of going for it on the campaign missions and am learning a few things. I have sort of developed a "procedure" to appoarch a mission. Read the briefing to figure out the objective (ex: kill the group of BMPs at waypoint tgt) Select a loadout that I think I might need. Default loadout does not appear to be tailored to the missions ex: it gives mk82air and cbu87 when my job is to kill 5 BMPs covered by SAM and AAA that would destroy me if I got low enough to use them Start mission Turn on all aircraft systems (maverick EO align, TGP, laser, master arm, countermeasures, etc) and configure weapons in DSMS if necessary. I do all this on the runway before takeoff. Take off and climb to ~12,000ft Call in any assisting flights from the F10 radio menu Search for and engage targets using the TGP from high altitude Complete objective, run out of munitions, get shot down by a SAM, or fail to find my targets Fly home and land Does this sound like a sane approach similar to what other people generally do in a mission?
  17. Here are my settings. In the campaign missions this gives me ~32-55 fps looking at empty land / ocean / cockpit. Over the target area fps drops to ~13-21 -- pretty choppy! The strange thing is that reducing all of the settings to their lowest only gives me ~16-24 fps in target area which is not much of an improvement. Little difference between low / med / high settings makes me think it is a bug in DCS (perhaps that disproportionately affects my machine) and not a settings issue or lack of graphics power.
  18. I am trying to play the A10-C campaign on DCS World 1.2.6. Performance is so bad that it is hard to play. The first mission has a lot of units in the target zone and looking that direction reduces my framerate very badly even though I have decent specs! Specs: i7 2600k @4.2ghz 16gb ram radeon 7870 2gb Catalyst 13.12 drivers (latest) Windows 8.1 With maximum settings: On runway or looking at water 31-48FPS Looking at target zone (with TGP and MAV on MFCDs): 13-22FPS With minimum settings: On runway or looking at water: 34-61 FPS Looking at target zone (with TGP and MAV on MFCDs): 16-25FPS CPU ~80% and GPU ~70% usage in both tests. Even with minimum settings the framerate drop is so bad in the target area that it is hard to play! It seems very odd that performance is so bad on such a powerful machine even at minimum graphics settings. Is there anything that can be done to make the sim more playable? Is 1.2.6 just so broken that I should ignore the campaign and play simpler missions? DCS is the only title that has these sorts of performance problems on my machine :(
  19. I generally understand what my objectives are, just not what to do to complete them. For example the first campaign mission tasked me with destroying 4 artillery pieces -- sounds easy enough but the targets were surrounded by TONS of SAM and AAA (more than I could possibly kill). Following the mission waypoints got me shot down. Any approach got me nailed with a missile before I could get into maverick range of the artillery. What is the right way to approach a situation like that? Should I climb up high to avoid the anti air? The fact that the default loadout contains mk82air suggests that the mission expects me to stay low but I have no clue how I could possibly use those with all the anti air in the area. Are there any resources about how to use your other air assets effectively? I could try over and over until something works but what I want to know is the "right" (or realistic) way to do it. Exactly how I feel. I am just not sure what is the "right solution" (or realistic) to these missions. I could try again and again and possibly complete them but I would have no clue if the way I did it was in any way correct/realistic. About changing loadouts -- is it generally necessary for most missions? Do they not include sane default loadouts? I might be able to win (in the campaign mission to destroy the artillery) by loading up with tons of mavs to kill all the air defenses but that does not sound to me like something you would see in a real life mission. I am just lost about how to realistically approach these scenarios instead of just trying anything to win.
  20. I have played with the hog on and off for awhile now. I have done all of the training missions and read large chunks of the manual. I can start up, taxi take off, navigate, engage targets with all the weapon types, land, and generally fly the thing without any problems. What I need help with is where to go now that I have the basics down. I tried to jump into the campaign, but the first mission was a wall of RWR threats and radio chatter that I didn't know how to deal with. Should I wait for the other air elements to take out the sam threats? How will I know if/when they did that? Should I go in low? Should I go in high? Should I wait for specific radio calls before pursuing my target? Do I need to talk to JTAC? Why does my loadout contain mk82air when the target zone is crawling with AAA and SAM? It does not seem like I could use them even if I wanted to. Tons of questions like that. The tutorials prepared me for none of it. The manual and tutorials taught me how to fly the plane but not how employ it tactically. I have no idea how to approach the situations in the campaign or missions 1. successfully or 2. realistically. Can anybody suggest resources to help me learn what to do in the campaign/missions since I already mostly know how to do things.
  21. Just started playing again after a long break. I am getting terrible performance. System specs: i7 2600k OC to 4.2ghz 16gb ram radeon 7870 on 13.11 beta driver windows on ssd, steam/dcs on separate drive not running any other programs Turning off AA, HDR, and all settings down to medium barely made an improvement. FPS is dropping below 10 consistently making it very hard to play! I think something is very wrong with this version.
  22. Trying to install FC3 results in a message "Can't install FC3 1.2.2.7122 into newer DCS World 1.2.2.7204. Please, download FC3 1.2.2.7204 installer." However FC3 1.2.2.7204 is not available for download. The FC3 download page only has a link to version 1.2.2.7122 which will not install into latest DCS World.
  23. I translated 6S.Duke's X-52 Pro profile for the non-pro X-52... You can find it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89684 Hope it helps!
  24. I made a translation of 6S.Duke's X-52 Pro DCS P-51 profile (picture of layout here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88323) for my regular, non-pro, Saitek X-52. I have not extensively tested this -- I simply copied his commands to a profile compatible with the regular X-52. Please let me know if this works for you or not and post improvements if you make them. I still have a lot to learn flying the P-51 so I probably made some mistakes when I made with this. Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?gxhq3srx9bfa7yr Hope this is helpful!
