Its working again after that hotfix. Thanks for your help!
-
Yep, I am getting this too since last patch. :(
-
Thanks FMAX. I did update the mission with ENFORCE Labels ON but it didnt make a difference. Never tried putting my labels.lua into a mission. Not sure how to do that. :noexpression:
-
I have a problem where if i host an old mission on my server, labels wont work. That is, a mission created and working prior to this patch. I created a brand new mission from scratch and labels work. :(

Thats not set in stone but I'd say you'd be on the money (pardon the pun!) Also, I think you lost sight of what we were debating here. It isn't the worth of Lock On but the price that it can be bought for. I'd have to say at $50 for Lock On Gold it is under valued when you consider the time and effort that goes into developing a flight sim. When you consider the amount and time people get out of one game compared to what they would spend on say a first person shooter which goes out of fashion in a month or two .. they are worth a lot more than that!

Your right Ice ... I was looking at the combined package (manual + FC) price. My apologies. Just to clarify the price you mentioned above is for the addon only (no original cd included which you need to play Flaming Cliffs.) Only Lock On Gold includes both Lock On (original cd) and Flaming Cliffs (addon cd) :(
-
Rugg has kindly agreed to ship Lock On Gold (this includes both Lock On and Flaming Cliffs cd) It costs him $US19.95 + postage of about $US10 and took just on a week to arrive. So your looking at around $AU50 for a setup that your good to go with. (not $99+ for an addon only and you still need to go and grab the original game before you can play.) Let us know as we'd rather see you guys pay market prices than get ripped off by some fallacy that Australia is isolated and you need to pay twice what everyone else in the world pays. :pilotfly:
-
I reckon we could hook you up with a copy for under $50. Jump on the 3 Sqn forums and we'll sort you out.... plus you might meet a few guys to fly online with. Where in Aus are you btw? 3 Sqn Forums Cheers

I say we start up a "Save Mustang Fund!" Everyone chip in what they can and when we have enough we can send Ice the money to buy Mustang back into the 169ths free community server. How much exactly is it your owed Ice?

you can add one more to no 24. the air in your fuel tanks.

I'm happy to host on my spare desktop with ADSL2+ (1000 up) :joystick: working all this weekend but there is usually a few 3 Sqn guys up on Hyperlobby.

we've now got a dedicated teamspeak server ... all welcome to join. be awesome to have a huge game with low pingers only! Teamspeak: 60.241.246.175:8767 What types of flights of flights do you guys like to do? Happy to host in Sydney.. :)

I heard the tanker broke down which meant the F-15's couldn't make it on their own. I was really looking forward to them but the show was pretty good anyhow. First time I have seen the RAAF do a multiple F-18 display.

Sydneysider myself. Check out our new squadron we have just started up with quite a few aussies in it. no site yet, just forums but drop in and say gday .. 3 Sqn Forums A few of us also host missions when we are on so you should get a good ping from in Australia (worst is a member in perth pings about 100.) :)

OT: Any Fighter Ops Insider here?
Cobra747 replied to Omega Oska's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Incorrect. The graphical engine is made by us in-house and is being designed to take advantage of dx-10 graphics. :) -
Ohh my god!! maybe it delays BS...
Cobra747 replied to ESA_PIRAO's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
looks like they've increased the lego piece count too.. :P -
great shots. i bet the knife edge formation took a bit of practice! what made you choose the Su-33 as your prefered aircarft?

NAV modes - why are there more than 1?
Cobra747 replied to Greenies's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Correct. As opposed to none. ;) -

or they just click the switch in the fully clickable pit. :icon_fU: -
where is the error? is the gauge in the picture labled wrong or did they code the gauge wrong in game and the label is correct?

I guess you really need to think about the reason for the demo and the uniqueness of Area51. The whole reason for a demo is to wet peoples appetite for the game and show them some of the features in a game, hence inticing them to buy it. Giving them a high spec'd demo might infact have the reverse effect in that some may be satisfied with just that and not feel the need to buy the game at all. As you have pointed out the Area51 members are a different breed and hence giving them a more spec'd up demo as a thank you for thier loyalty will probably not impact on the sales of the game. The other point i'd like to make is we wouldn't be doing anything different in regards to the amount of information/level of demo's etc for the public if Area51 didnt exist. So dont feel you are being hard done by because of the existence of Area51 as you wouldn't have got it either way. This means that Area51 is an opportuinity to get more than you otherwise would have, not as some people make out, an exploit to take away from what the public would have otherwise got for a profit. Cheers

he isnt banned and never was as far as i am aware and is most welcome on Fighter Ops website. only be too happy to continue this debate on the Fighter Ops boards if it is to remain as level-headed as it has been here. a lot of you guys make some very valid points however there also appears to be some mis-information about not only Fighter Ops but also the amount of information that the public get and what area51 is. feel free to ask on our forums and we will try and clear things up. kudos to you sumoscouse for bringing this up in this manner.

Multiplayer server settings help
Cobra747 replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
i agree with Ice on this one. I have a 1500/256 connection and tried a lot of custom settings but in the end the default 1024/128 just seemed to work the best. go figure. i'd also say your being a little optimistic thinking you could host 8 people on 256up. in a decent mission 4 people was about my limit but if you made a mission with nothing but players i reckon you might be able to stretch it to 6 people with low pings. (this was what i found to be true for me anyhow.) good luck with it and let us know how you go. :icon_jook -
Most fuel efficient Speed/Height ?
Cobra747 replied to Brit_Radar_Dude's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
there is an aweful lot of mis-information in this thread. Jet Engines are more efficient at higher altitudes (however they do lose thrust). By efficient i mean they burn less fuel. A typical airliner would fly around the 35,000' mark as it is the most efficient altitude. (your optimum altitude is weight dependant so it changes from flight to flight but that is a very rough average.) If we want speed we fly around 27,000' as that is where you get your best TAS, but we burn a fair bit of fuel doing so and with fuel prices so high you will find most airlines now have a policy regarding Fuel Cost/Schedule. All the other reasons for being up that high are sort of true. Avoid bumpy weather? it can get pretty bumpy at those altitudes and the only way out of it is down, plus if it is a thunderstorm then they can go way above your maximum altitude so the only way is around them. Gives us more time in an emergency is also not entirely true as the reason for us being up there. Sometimes it is nice in say an engine failure case but in a decompression it is working against you. Which one do you plan on happening?? Without having any info on how they have modelled the aircraft, i have found in the F-15, when it is heavy it seems to like to sit around 30,000' but as you get lighter i'd higher, as high as 38,000' virtually empty. I tend to fly 100% N1 to climb altitude and once at a comfortable altitude i bring it back to about 95% and it should maintain speed. The next problem was if you were low and wanted to get back to base the most efficient way. This has a lot of variables that would determine which way you would go. How much fuel do you have and how far is the base. You burn fuel climbing, so if you are really low then i wouldn't bother climbing but bring the N1 back to 80% and just plod along at about 350kts. If there is enemies about then i go 90% and about 450-500kts till i am no longer in a threat zone and then bring it back to 80% as soon as i can. GGTharos - your statement re climbing at M0.9 is a little confusing. Do you take-off and go straight to M0.9 or do you climb at an IAS fist till you reach the cross-over altitude? You will find fighters would climb out at a profile something like 450kts/M0.9 that is they accelerate to 450kts and climb at that airspeed till they reach the cross-over altitude and then climb out at M0.9 (the cross-over altitude is the altitude where you IAS and Mach number meet.) I hope that clears up a few things
