Conroe is NOT faster, hardly any difference says [H]
NEODARK replied to NEODARK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The title means that [H]ardOcp found almost no difference, thus the "says [H]". :) (either way, I cant edit the title) Oh, and I have an FX62 of sorts ;) (its actually tad faster due to the memory running out of spec) PS: I never claimed conroe was slower, it definitelly IS faster, But I dont think you understood the concept I was trying to get across with the title. :) Oh, and thanks for that link Colt  EDIT: here is the graphic we all want: -
Conroe is NOT faster, hardly any difference says [H]
NEODARK replied to NEODARK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I know tech, I dont need the explanation. No offence ;) read what I said... Do we play @ the same settings we bench? Im not debating conroe being faster, that it is.. but what I'm trying to find out is.. Will we see a difference in games the way we play them? (In my case for LockOn @ 1920x1200 8x TASS + 16AF, etc.) and again, yes I know LockOn is cpu limited, but you can't push settings like these with a 9800pro either... cheers on getting a core2 rig, post some numbers and we'll compare. :) PS: and before you reply, yes I agree.. CPU limited games SHOULD see a good improvement, but the last word will be when numbers come out from LockOn. Oh and who in their right mind would buy an FX62 today? -
ah, Don't worry mate. You'll get used to this forum soon enough, stick around and good luck in your squad hunt :D I'd recomend you check the 77th's server in "Nugget mode" tons of good guys there that will help you get up to speed. PS: Get TeamSpeak, it makes things much easier :)

Conroe is NOT faster, hardly any difference says [H]
NEODARK replied to NEODARK's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think the main point is.. If you have a 939 based system or comparable, there is no point in core2, sure is faster, but playing at the resolutions we play, etc.. We won't see a HUGE difference. Sure people bench CPU's @ 640x480, but tell me what gamer plays at those settings? In reality, we wont know until someone here builds a core2 system and posts benchmarks which we can then compare against our hardware. -

I know the cpu is the limitation in lockon ;) read the article, it looks like it's a lot of smoke and mirrors with conroe. that said I cant wait to get user benchmarks with it. it's really interesting [H] a major site found hardly any difference, while others did, thus why I say, "says [H]" in the title.. Users/time will tell. -
Forum Discussion: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1075804 Article: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTEwOCwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== heh, that sucks, I was really hoping conroe would deliver, I guess it fell short acording to [H] damn it... well at least people wont be rushing out to get conroe, and will enjoy the awesome pricing on AMD..

NEODARK replied to JAFO6105's topic in Bugs and Problems
No, but if you figure it out, let me know... I had this for a while now and I cannot correct it. (unless I turn off anisotropic filtering in the CP, and that sometimes doesnt work) it's also random, sometimes the mission will load, sometimes it wont. Sucks cause I need AF.. -
Vaguely interesting article in NYT today.

lol, you guys probably killed it lol.. but anyway, thought this could be a good way to get betty in a different language mainly, and the voice engine is quite good. (although you might have to get a bit creative with some phrases) :) PS: if you scroll down, it still works fine :)

Why the dreaded LA never comes on...
NEODARK replied to Archer_02's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
yes, its true.. BUT, it also happens that sometimes it WILL NOT come on no matter what, even if the launch parameters are all good. thus why its good to have launch override mapped :D -

Another day another thread.. woohoo.. quit this crap already, this is what makes this forum annoying sometimes. Just get over the fact that someone has a different opinion about something, and you are not going to change their minds whether you are right or wrong. can we all just get along? -
Found this interesting little site. http://www.naturalvoices.att.com/demos/ -You type what you want said, then it gets converted to an audio file of your choise, then downloaded. (you only get 40 tries every 24 hours, but the coockie can probably be simply deleted) -it has Spanish, English, German and French -You can get it to say anything you want. So it's perfect for your own cutom bitching betty :) I dunno, just try it out, it can be fun and amuzing to do all sorts of things.

Yup, I've used it before. Although I had a few issues with it, since it wanted to uninstall itself everytime I rebooted. (had that issue with a couple of G15 apps) I like MBM2G15 because it includes: systemps, fan speeds, volts, etc + TS all bundled into one little app (the less apps in memory, the better) :)
-
hehe, yeah.. Anyway, The Battle Sim = professional version of LockOn (whatever that means to you, but that's my understanding/ what I've read somewhere)
-
Well, I havent done either... But hey, I hear it "happens" :D

you could always send a command to RESET to default and always start from there. Ingenuity always prevails :) PS: no I dont know what you are trying to do..
