yeah, could be a hung DX call/codec issue.. I know I've had a lot of problems with my X-fi as well (same brand) the card kicks ass when it works, but when it doesnt... %^$%#@$% and now that I think about this, I've actually experienced something similar to this lately. never looked at the framerate, but my game would completely pause, then continue after .5 of a sec like nothing happened. (completely random too) And this is a completely different issue than what I've mentioned before (post #5 and #7 with similar symptoms) which could also be the culprit.

there is a new set of beta drivers for the soudcard, check on the creative forums for them. you could also post your error log to see if there are any sound problems.

you know you can turn the leds off if its that big of a deal right? I think the X52 is a MUCH better buy, because it's simply a lot smoother.

Most new-er card have different 2D and 3D clocks. Sometimes there are issues and they switch back and forth between them, thus causing the pauses. but go with the simpler things first, like the fast writes.

I had this problem with an nforce3 mobo and my 6800GT. (platform issue) but fastwrites fixed it for the most part. it could also be that your card is switching clocks from 2D to 3D while in game, thus causing the issue or because it's overclocked too high. good luck.

Well, the 9600XT is not that powerful by todays standards. a new one will definitelly help your games overal as well as lockon. But as Kenan said, lockon is way more CPU bound. As for the X52, yes it's great (better if you like blue leds) :p

I think you loose the control mappings, cant remember. be sure its mapped correctly.

nice little movie as always GA, One thing though, Not sure if this is your intention or not, but... In several of your movies, the audio is quite distorted, as in you raising the output volume level via software or EQ thus it sounds really distorted sometimes, not clean and crisp. I guess if this is the intention, well cool... But if not, just a heads up. PS: I'm guessing its not my setup cause it happens in diff 2 PC's as well as my home theater via xbox/xbmc :)

Here's a pic on "it" mounted on my LCD, so I guess its close enough. No mounting kit is needed, you simply use it's legs to clamp to LCD. (should be ok in laptops as well since its completely adjustable) :thumbup:

Hamachi is good, but can be a bit of a security risk, specially since it enables share browsing on missconfigured systems. that said it's a great way to trick games into thinking they are on a LAN while they are actually over the internet :)

small fighter jets. I've seen a mission where they take off, both on same flight (tornados) beside each other from runway, and in the mission ed, it looks as its simply made to be both taking off from runway in the same flight. (nothing special) So I dont get why mine take off one at the time with the rest spawning behind. I'll try separate flights with same start time from runway and report back, thanks.. :D PS: 1.12a (latest)

I mean, seriously? This is NOT a rant, rather an inquiry as to "why" and the invitation to bring us together as a community a bit more, to simply enjoy a game we all love and to help make it better. We have many great individuals, of which I don't personally know or even played with before... Yet, I know enough to know about them through their great efforts to come out and help others. Lately, it seems a few people Like IronHand, TekaTeka, Thomas, and others spend all their time and even money doing something to give to others and many peolpe can't even reply to say thanks, unless it's to correct something they don't agree with or jump into a flame fest? -what's the point... The last great post I can think of right now is what TekaTeka did by converting all the tutorials to video, yet very few members bothered to go in and at least say: "Hey man.. Thanks for the effort." Yet, everyone and their mom clicked and oppened that thread to look at it.. Why would these great lockon players/modders even have an incentive to create more if we can't even aknowledge their work, why would anyone want to do anything if all they get is flames for it or someone trying to prove them wrong for personal satisfaction? Just remember, lockon and the community around it is what we make of it. Let's make it something we are all proud of :thumbup: PS: You don't even have to reply to this thread, just think about what I've said/.
