Someone always leaks the demo, just look @ fileshack or gamers hell. Last release of an "exclusive demo" was PREY, and it was available even before the countdown was over @ gamespot. :)

It's the low end from last gen (your X800 is from the one previous to the last) so in a way it's newer, but the X800 should be more powerful (fillrate, etc). Read this: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1875409,00.asp

I personally like organized raids/missions. Be it against AI, or human. Air Quake is rather boring after a while, but pulling these kinds of missions realistically outside of a clan environment is almost impossible. I've had pretty decent turnout for my =COOP_SERV= in HL, but that was against AI, However, I've been too busy lately to keep it up on a regular basis. Still, co-op against human is the best of both worlds, just really hard to actually get it to happen.

yup, these are the best skins I've seen. He even went as far as including the PSD files so that you could edit them at will, this is kick ass work :)

can you just make your rotaries bands? that might work. (I just use a hat for it)

What's the maximum "sustained" altitude you've been able to achieve in LockOn? Dunno if this has been tried before, but Im bored at work... Anyway, the rules are simple. 1- Use any default flyable 2- No ordinance 3- Any fuel quantity you desire 4- No wind (leave @ 0 on ME) 5- Post a screenshot (optional) 6- Reading from SEA LEVEL. :) 7- Level flight for @ least 10 seconds (No Saturn V attempts @ 0 airspeed) 8- Post in feet/meters :pilotfly:

8x TSAA = 8x Super Sampling + transparent Anti-Aliasing which does indeed do transparent textures :D framerate is a non-issue for me, and @ 1920x1200 it still does NOT correct it :) PS: main issue being that MDF/HDD on ruski birds.. (not the HUD)

It's not so much the HUD for me (I play @ 1920x1200, 8xTSAA 16x AF) and the heads down display (particularly in the SU's) always looks like crap. It has quite a bit of aliasing, and the lines break up. Normally I'd say TSAA (transparent AA) would cure this as it seems to be a transparent texture on top of a background, but it doesn't. Everything else looks clean and clear, but for the HDD (heads down display) I also agree that the HUD even with high res mode gets crappier sometimes. I wish you could choose your font type or BOLD it, etc.. For now though, my biggest issue is the HDD/MDF's looking all aliased. :) (I'll posta shot later to show you exactly what I'm talking about) :pilotfly:

yeah, I posted about it a few days back, but... So far the demo is great, love it. the only thing is that it seems some aids cannot be turned off in the demo, and I like driving with them off. anyway, this will take a lot of my lockon time away. BS or GTR2, hmm.. Tough choise. ... waits for mod to come delete the topic cause it's too "off topic" ;)

It depends on what you want out of it. Raptor = absolute speed and good capacity 2x HDD's = Raid0 is kinda overrated, the raptor is your best bet if you want absolute performance with no compromises. ALso software based RAID isn't as good. No Raid1 mirrors a disk to another on the fly, so if one dies, the otherone servers as backup It's not plug-n-play, you have to setup the array via software. Also, software based arrays are NOT as good as a decent hardware based solution, but a good hardware soluytion will be pricey. it really is luck of the draw, I usually tend to go with the ones that have good reviews/long warranties. That said, I have about 1.5TB of storage on my file server on various HDD's Maxtor, WD and Seagate. None have died in the last 3 years. As always though, its luck of the draw (keeping them under 40C really helps as well) Want more HDD info, check here: www.storagereview.com If you really want to go raid, go for the redundancy it provides, not for the speed. This must be a new thing, because there are MANY OT discussions on the forum, GTR2 related or not, also with all due respect alfa.. many GTR2 discussions have been done as well and NOT deleted. There is no anti-SF talk whatsoever. Online people play with "Ace Settings" or custom, but bascally no labels, no external views, etc. If you can afford it, trackir is the best thing you can purchase, for LockOn or any other flight/race sim :D PS: Daaaamn man. ^^ you'd be surprized how often it happens. ACMI is awesome.. :D ANyway/.. To the OP. Most servers in HyperLobby are what we like to call "Air Quake" you pick a side, spawn and fly to find someone and you either die or get a kill, you then respawn and go at it again. This is very fun though, so dont get discouraged by it. People online WILL be better than you, they've been doing this for more time their wifes care to know. If you want to do online co-op. I host a co-op server sometimes, it's called =COOP_SERV= (been very busy this week though) but you should see it on HL now and then, and you are welcome to join us for some co-op fun :) (we are ussualy on around @ 22:00 GMT) welcome to LockOn

Nope, they all went to dell, and if you are lucky to find them in retail, the availability is going to give them a HUGE premium. I doubt we will start seeing any of these in the mainstream @ MSRP until september at least.
