performance tyurns a bunch of optimizations on, thus making the game have higher framerate, but look worse.. I always play @ High Quality. PS: it has always been available. :)

THanks GA, :) Dumb question, what exactly does "Visibility setting" affect? -Draw distance? and if so, going to medium would be a BIG disadvantage, wouldnt it? after all, its all about SA. PS: Im hoping to be able to run it @ 1920x1200 with everything on high with a minimum of 25 FPS. I wonder if this is a realistic expectation for my system. (more less my average now @ highest settings.)

whats your PC ;) and what settings are you running @? Im interested in MAXIMUM possible in-game quality, as in every setting as high as it will possibly go. But like I said, I think it will be allright.

it's definitelly the game with the hiccups, Im sure the video encoded at the low framerate doesnt help either, but the game wasnt smooth. Im sure it will be fine though.

Conroe (unlinke AMD's AM2 socket) is a new CPU architechture by Intel, that will by launched sometime in July. Basically, the "value" processors keep up, or surpase the "top of the line" processors today. (think FX60) So its not worth it for you to upgrade to a technology that has no upgradability, specially since you are starting from scratch, and AMD's AM2 is simply support for DDR2 ram. (in short, nothing revolutionary yet on AMD's side) In my case, I have some of the newest possible components today, so Im not upgrading right away, the performance jump would not be HUGE to me quite yet. For you. Your old system P4 @ 2.4ghz is definitelly getting a bit long in the tooth, BUT its still fast enough to last you a month to wait for better tech thats around the corner. If the technology was several months out, I'd say go aghead and upgrade NOW, but its so close its not worth it to not wait. -Longhorn Is the next version of the Windows operating system, but dont worry about it, its at least a year away for now. :D

yeah, definitelly wait. right now is NOT the time to buy an FX60, specially when a value chip will obliterate it a month or two from now (Thats conroe)

God, the framerate on those PC's is terrible. it also seems like an earlier build since it ha sno pilot in the pit, and the animation is definitelly off. ah well..

When you view a replay via "edit track" trackir data is present, and you view your self doing exactly the same head movements. However when you change cameras, then return back to pit, how come trackIR doesnt work anymore? Any way to go back to trackir view after switching camera modes? Thanks :thumbup:

could also be a firewall making it freeze (the one that loads half way) just a thought.

I have the GOLD CD patched to 1.12a just fine, no issues..

This thread is making me go :cheer3nc: I'd be great creating a mission where normal airport operations take place, then all hell breaks loose with an enemy air strike. I love missions with immersion, and empty airports with no acitivty really do take away a lot, the more activity there is, the more immersive and fun it becomes.

Look for my server on HL (is not there everyday, since we mostly join trough the game directly, and I never launch trough there) But we play quite a bit. Around 6PM EST (US) We are doing a ton of coop with externals on of course. Rocket75 has done a great job building coop missions for us, and I host them in the server. Maybe I'll start setting it up trough HL more often if there is some interest from other players here. It should be able to handle at least 12-15 clients.. Or send me a PM and I'll share the details to join directly with IP, there is also a dedicated TS channel. We always welcome new players. :D
