Greenzone Intro Mission (possible future campaign)
FlyingBrick replied to BBQ's topic in User Created Missions General
I took me a few tries to make it to the truck before it blew up. Turns out my start up procedures were just slow, it is an emergency after all! I had plenty of time to use LSS function(first time btw:D) as long as I got in the air quickly. Fun missions, hope to see some more! -
Mission: High Stakes (SP/MP)
FlyingBrick replied to LostOblivion's topic in User Created Missions General
I have tried this mission four times and it keeps crashing at the same point. When the Migs show up and I'm running for WP 1 the mission just ends without any warning and goes to the debrief screen. I found the crash logs and they all show a Stack Overflow. Anyone else getting this or could it be my machine? My Campaign missions play fine though... Thanks for the mission, hope I can get it working! -
Greenzone Intro Mission (possible future campaign)

Ugly 1-2:lol: Thanks for the mission, my first time trying to fly formation and boy do I need work! Sure hope you find the time to build the campaign, it sounds really interesting. -
I missed it, I hope you get to repost it but not if it gets you in that kind of trouble! :P

Any concise info regarding targets and weapons?
FlyingBrick replied to Conure's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks for the handy charts guys! -
I just opened it in Mission Editor, there is no Player flight and no Blue Task. I haven't finished a campaign yet but I guess this was telling you that you won? Or maybe the campaign was never finished. I was hoping to start campaigns after the next patch but since they are taking two of them out of the game I guess they're broken?

Flight Qualifications Campaign
FlyingBrick replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in A-10C Basic Flight Training Qualification DLC
Thanks for these missions, they've really helped my with my flying skills. You scared me when you yelled at me for turning on ILS when I wasn't supposed to!:megalol: -
Nice!
-
If you've been briefed on your exact target type and location then there is really no need to contact JTAC unless specifically ordered to. The leftover munitions are for JTAC:thumbup:

I'll be damned, just lost my nose wheel while taking off from Vaziani! I must have been near rotate speed since it bounced me into the air.:D

MP Bad weather ILS training missions
FlyingBrick replied to Cibit's topic in User Created Missions General
I've never flown in anything like that before! Not even close on the first try. LOL All those clouds brought my poor GTS 250 to its knees though, but I have a 460 GTX on the way and hopefully that will help out enough for me to keep practicing. -
Does anyone know of an Emergency Checklist to help with procedures after getting hit by a SAM? Thanks!
-
Fun mission! I got hit with a SAM at ECHO, lost both engines but was somehow able to glide it onto a runway. What a blast! The sunrise was beautiful too.

Hey Zeke, try deploying a little bit of speed brake. That should change your throttle position away from the indent. These guys made it look so easy I had to give it another go, now my hands are all sweaty.
-
Sounds like you might need to adjust the curve or dead zones through Axis Tune.
-
Nice flying! Thanks for the vid.
-
I just checked, I show 9 servers up.
-
Yeah, I didn't explain that very well. With the other posts though he should get the idea.:D

Think of your airfield as the center of a compass, draw a line bearing 270 away from the runway. As long as you intercept and navigate that line, no matter how far away, you should be aligned with the runway. You can navigate to any steerpoint like this whether it's a airfield destination or a regular mission waypoint.

Happens to me too since last patch. I wish they would also give range estimates.

Here is a question I've been meaning to ask, Is the weight transfer modeled? I mean that taking on thousands of pounds of fuel should require increasing throttle and stick or trim inputs to compensate. I can't stay connected long enough to test.
-
I think my longest connect was 45 seconds and I was a sweaty mess, imagine what these guys had to go through... In Vietnam aerial refueling made it possible for battle damaged fighters, with heavily leaking fuel tanks, to hook up to the tankers and let the tanker feed its engine(s) until the point where they could glide to the base and land. This saved numerous aircraft.

Is Trimming Needed When Landing in A10C?
FlyingBrick replied to Bruins's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Well, the flaps indicator shows a maximum of 30 degrees. It's not possible to extend 30 degrees of flaps? I guess I should have experimented a bit more:doh: -
Is Trimming Needed When Landing in A10C?
FlyingBrick replied to Bruins's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I was wondering about flaps setting on approach. According to the manual flaps should be set to the DN position which is 20 degrees on approach, so when would I need 30 degrees of flaps? Maybe during bad turbulence or landing with a heavy load? -
I just played a mission for 1 1/2 hours with no problems. Shadows look great and my wingmen survived the mission! I predict a fun night ahead, better warm up the coffee maker :pilotfly:
