  1. I agree Atsugi... Just sit in it and play with all the stuff... lol... So it's looks like (if Backspace340 is correct) at least another hour and a half here at the least until we get it... So stoked.
  2. imacken--nice review man--I really appreciate the blunt and frank honesty!
  3. Roger, Wags... I'm also checking with guys I served with for full-on correction!!! I figure I might as well get slammed real-world... I'll also get into the pubs next week at work as I should know this... but am missing it. Thanks!
  4. First, I am not trying to start a fight or bicker or anything... Even though you seem to be an AME, apparently (former AT, myself)--lol... I follow what you say, but I think that is jumping to conclusions, maybe... especially about initiating Fire Loop B after Fire Loop A... and there aren't "tapes" to my knowledge--it should be all solid state/flash tones/bitchin' betty... Maybe a processing issue with MCs as they ARE slow compared to (even back in ~2000) PCs. It HAS been about 15 years since I worked on my turn qual on F/A-18A-F's, but I don't remember this being an issue. Rather, I believe the issue is with the actual wording getting reversed randomly and either on Fire Loop A the first time I ran it or on Fire Loop B right after I ran Fire Loop A in the DCS sim itself--I'll check with a former ADCS buddy to confirm though to see if this is actual real world and shall report back. To clarify, sometimes it works both loops first time up, but others, seems like it doesn't, so even before verifying, I will give you that... I know I usually jump in the cockpit and get right at it. Regardless, if I am wrong, I will admit it. I've been wrong before and the goal of this post is not to put my junk against anyone else's, but to find out what I may be doing wrong. Thanks, for the feedback, AMEDooley!
  5. Can I get an explanation of what I am doing wrong since sometimes the Fire Loop Tests say the correct thing and sometimes they don't?
  6. The Fire Loop A and B warning test messages are messed up at times. Bitchin' Betty will say, "Engine Right Fire" vice "Engine Fire Right" on both loops randomly. Also, in the video (if you are able to view it), you will notice I had to click somewhere else in the cockpit so I could get the other Fire Loop Warning test to play. Small issue though I have noticed it somewhat constantly/at random times. Map is Nellis. Latest update as of today (01MAR2019). OpenBeta. Fire Loop Issue.trk
  7. Set up tanker mission via mission editor last night (before the OpenBeta update to 2.5.4.28090), used default TACAN of 1X and it didn't work--got spinning TACAN in T/R. Punched in 1Y and it seemed to work fine. Will try with new update to OpenBeta.
  8. Awesome, imacken! Looking forward to hearing your comparison review! Also, some1 is on point with that meme!
  9. Man I would say if you are happy with what ya have and they work as you'd expect, stay with it! I don't have any rudder pedals, which is why I posted the question. Speaking of that, thanks for all the input from everyone! I look forward to more input/comments etc!
  10. For that much money (really anything over $100) without toe brakes they are useless, IMO. Do any of you guys run the TM Warthog stick and throttle? Had any issues with everything being programmable? I read where if you used the TM Warthog stick and throttle you ran out of something or other needed to program all the peripherals due to DirectX limitations...
  11. Looking for some input on some rudder pedals to use with the Hornet and later the Tomcat. Right now it is looking like a toss up between the MFG Crosswinds and Thrustmaster TPRs... Yeah, I'm also holding out for the Thrustmaster Hornet stick and throttle as well when they are released in 2022! Actually, I have no idea when they'll be released but I figure 2022 is probably a safe bet... Thanks in advance!
  12. Hornet seems to constantly bank either left or right in Instant Action. Aileron trim does nothing. Symmetrical load out.
  13. Exactly. If TM thinks people are harassing them about it, maybe they should put something on their website about the Hornet Stick and Throttle...
  14. Yeah that faint "X" shows for me, too, but pylons are still installed... Maybe I need to restart again... lol...
  15. So on the CV takeoff Instant Action mission, I can get rid of my stores, re-config fuel tanks, and choose a different skin, but I can not make the pylons go away by calling up the refuel/rearm option. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a glitch on this mission or in general? Thanks in advance. HAM
  16. +1 on this... Full flaps is sketchy AF...
  17. In all seriousness, I don't believe the Hornet has been released for DCS World yet, only DCS World OpenBeta... But I am assuming your are attempting to install in OpenBeta, correct?
  18. Obviously, you need more RAM...:megalol: Sorry man, had to!
  19. Excellent! Thank you, guys!
  20. Cool. Yeah flying the sim HAS been working just fine... just an issue with this latest update. I'm also thinking of buying yet ANOTHER SSD for this game only... FML. Hahahahah! Thanks for the help, dude!
  21. So I noticed I have had some issues updating... I have E: Program Files>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World OpenBeta as well as E:Eagle Dynamics>DCS World I think this happened because I (stupidly) uninstalled the Open Beta and reinstalled it. Should I-- 1. Move the, "E:Eagle Dynamics>DCS World" "World" folder to the "E: Program Files>Eagle Dynamics>" folder alongside the "DCS World OpenBeta" folder? -or- 2. Move the "E: Program Files>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World OpenBeta" "DCS World OpenBeta" folder to the, "E:Eagle Dynamics" folder alongside the, "DCS World" folder? Thanks in advance...
  22. :thumbup::pilotfly:
  23. Thanks, Weasel! Lookin' like some good news then!!! Maybe next week??? Lol... Exciting times we live in, friends... exciting times...
  24. Hasn't been brought up in a few months, so I figured I would ask again--anyone know anything about this? Wags? Do you guys (and gals of course) think there will be a full new stick or just a replacement for the Warthog? Throttles DEFINITELY have to be rebuilt to fit the Hornet, though (IMO). I'll fight you to be first in line for this bad boy if and when it comes out!
  25. I just wanted to thank DCS for making this sim--what an awesome, detailed and very realistic simulator! I've worked on Hornets for a while and I gotta say the model here is pretty damn accurate. Also, thanks to WAGS (and other 3rd party contributors like the Reapers) for all the videos showing us how to fly the thing. I "ain't there" yet, but am having a ball learning--this is pretty much everything I could expect in an F/A-18C simulation. I remember when Hornet:Korea was the hotness--and I flew the crap out of that, but that doesn't even touch this! Also, the price point is well-worth the satisfaction gained so far. Would I like for this to be full up and ready and not necessarily be a beta tester? Sure. But I think I understand how this works and am glad to be able to get my hands on it. Again, many thanks!
