I would say the problem ist not the size of the sun but finding the right size of the rays. The disk is almost imposible to spot, even at sunset. I think this picture shows what I mean Can you tell how big the disk is? But I agree that the sun is way to big at the moment.

I'm not an expert regarding such things but I think calculating the size of the sun's disk is way more complicated. Especially if the sun is low, refraction and reflection in the atmosphere will make it look bigger than it actually is. Maybe I will take a look at the sun with solar eclipse goggles this evening:smartass:

Windows 8 was designed for tablets, smartphones and PC with touchscreens. From what I've heard it is a massive step backwards for Desktop users. I would say that Windows 7 x64 will be the only viable OS in the forseeable future.

EDIT: I should have read your post a second time. What do you mean by modeled? That there is not 3D-model or there are no bullets and only an impact point is calculated.

Looks like there is no use in arguing with you about that :D The missle only needs a fire signal, everything else can be done by the missile itself. This was my idea.

What about the E-Version? It is laser-guided so there would be no additional wiring required. However this is very unlikely as it is only used by the USMC.

If you take a look at other forums, there is even less praise but more complaints and a lot of times hate. I don't want to say that ED should be glad that they get hate sparsely but what we can learn from that is that the ones who are content voice their opinion less often. The players who come to the forums need help, are disappointed in some way or are just too stupid to appreciate what they get (for free in the case of the SU-25). Unfortunately the last case is quite frequent these days and sticks out in a negative way.

let me try again: zero points for missions I design
Cholerix replied to wolle's topic in User Created Missions General
If I see this right you have a score while flying the mission but in the debriefing your score is zero. The game and the debriefing are two seperate programs. Sometimes when the game crashes I get the debriefing from the previous game. Therefore I think that the data is stored in C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Logs\debrief.log However currently I can't test if the score is saved in there. -
+1 I don't care if the save-files are 100MB+ Other games do that too.

Since the discussion was brought up again: There is something about improved infrared sensors in the 1.1.1.0 changelog. • Brightness/contrast effect for sensors (TGP and Maverick) has been made much more realistic looking.

It is easier to hook the SPI of other flights on the TAD. It gives you perfect coordinates even for air targets.

@MATT This is interesting but it isn't really about the topic.

Thanks for the replies. I kept looking around after I opened this thread and found some interresting things: As an example the S-300 utilizes frequncies from 8 to 20 GHz. They can be absorbed by the material on the skin of stealth aircrafts. But it is still very difficult to hide from frequencies of 2 GHz and below. The T-50 will have a special radar that uses 2 GHz. But there are also some ground based radars that utilizes these frequencies. The downside however is a lower resolution. Sources if anyone cares: I just wanted to know if it works but I didn't really expect it.

While messing around with ME in DCS:A10 is found the F-117 and tested if it could attack a SA-11 battery without getting shoot down. It didn't work and I was wondering weather a real stealth aircraft could engage a SAM-Launcher without being detected or at least without being a target as complete stealth is not possible yet.

Weight is not an issue. The capacity or the empty weight of a Plane can be changed easyly. I did this too untill I found out that I destroyed some very important files when I saved a profile with this. I had to reinstall the game. I also tried weapon that weren't inteded to be used on the Hog but they are either not precise, can't be locked on to a target or destroy themselves after launch and sometimes even the plane. Weapons on the wrong/other store however work fine.
