Hi, I've read through most of this thread and now that the Reverb is available on the HP store (UK) the temptation is killing me. I would be very grateful if anybody would be able to answer a couple of questions before I commit. I currently have a Lenovo Explorer which, while it is a wow experience, tends to leave me with a sore head after use. I don't wear glasses yet but I am probably heading that way - would the increased resolution of the Reverb make a big difference to this? - i.e. to anyone who has traded up, could the lower resolution be causing strain and headache? Is it worth waiting for next generation? Is there anything at a similar price likely to beat the Reverb in the coming 6-12 months? I currently use an Ultra-wide monitor (3440x1440@75Hz) and can run DCS with most options on high - is this spec likely to run Reverb at it's highest resolution? Specs: MSI Z170A GAMING PRO i7-6700k @4.01Ghz 16GB DDR4 SDRAM DCS is on a Samsung EVO 970 M.2 card Nvidia Titan XP 12GB Thanks! :)

Can't slew TGP with any precision. What am I doing wrong?
Gerrard replied to parxuk's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yeah, I also have it mapped to a hat switch and it is really sensitive. Try going to Point track mode with TMS up before trying to fine slew - I think it works better for me that way. -
Hi, I'm no expert and I can appreciate people feeling it's underdone - but hey, Ed hold it back and they get 'When's it coming, when's it coming!' Release it early and it's 'Too raw and missing features'.. the old adage you just can't please everyone comes to mind . For me, 30 minutes setting up the axis curves and it feels like I believe an F-16 should. It's great to look at inside and out, and blasting around the Caucus map is a hoot. In a year's time this module will be kick-ass.

Hi, well South Korea does have a lot of F-16s and it's a politically interesting part of the world being so close to China and Japan. Would be a great arena for carrier ops for the Hornets and Tomcats with good terrain for mud movers.. But yeah, I wouldn't mind a Balkans map either. :)

I was a little unsure at first but decided to persevere over the weekend and boy am I glad I did.. It's really important to get your controller set up properly, and in particular the axis tuning to get the Viper performing the way you think it should. Once that's done there are enough functional systems to destroy both ground and air targets and this is only going to improve with new weapons to come. Thanks ED. Now, all I need is a dynamic campaign and Korean peninsula map and I can die happy.. :)

Works fine for me. Make sure the Airfield is set to 'Blue' and the jet is off the runway.

Yay!. So it is. :)

It's definitely not working properly but the 'slave' usually gives a sort of work-around. However, I've just fired it up again and the Targeting pod camera is slewed 90' to the right even with the 'slave' option reset. A little disconcerting lining up at right-angles! Not tried it with the DMT as the mission I'm using is heavily SAM orientated and so it's exclusively IRMV.
-
Yep, it's the 'Slave' button which must be part of the update as I have not used it before. What is strange though, is that after I've used the TPOD the first time the 'Slave' disappears from the bottom right but still functions (and reappears) when pressed? Oh well, at least it works. Thanks to all.

Thanks, Mo. Yes, this is how it did work, but in Maverick..
-
You may be right but the AG Target worked fine for me until the last update.. Uncaging only seems to change the Maverick seeker screen. I'll give it a go though, thanks!.
-
Hi folks, Anybody else finding that the TGP and Maverick no longer centre with AG Target Undesignate/NWS/FOV Toggle after the latest update?.. Worked fine a couple of days ago, but alas, no longer..
-
Lol, I think Subs had his tongue firmly lodged in his cheek there! ;) But I appreciate your explanation of the images and what they could mean. Hawking would have been thrilled.

Hi, thanks for the reply. It's Point Track in TPOD. I'm loading the same single-player mission I've done a hundred times except this time it will not track the moving Tunguskas or tanks. However, it does sometimes track later on after I've pressed every button and option for 15 minutes. My usual procedure: - ARM - AG - TPOD - ARMED/LASER - located targets - NARROW FOV - positioned reticle over individual target - and it always locked on automatically within a certain range. Now the reticle stays where I leave it as if it's not registering the target. Has the operation sequence changed slightly in your experience? Changes since last working: Installed latest update. Installed the rest of my modules, Campaigns, etc. I tried to install the Staraway Mod using OvGME - didn't work so I deleted the mod and repaired my game files. I have no other mods installed. Thanks.

Hi all, I seem to have lost Point track in the Harrier with latest ED update. Is this happening to anybody else? Thanks.

Hi all, Noob question from a LOMAC veteran - I have $40 bonus dollars saved. Can I use it towards the F14 module? If not, what can I actually do with it?
-
You can also change the Code in on the EHSD (Moving map) when in Air to Ground mode. It's the top left button.

+1 Seoul to Pyongyang with Yellow sea/Sea of Japan would be awesome!

Great work as usual, GA. Now, where is the pre-purchase option for the Viper? :)

Hi, Yep , once you have fired it will not reset automatically.. Just cycle through deselect/Gun/Sidearm until search tone is constant Also; Ensure the IR cool switch is on..

Hi, thanks for the info. The guy who I borrowed the set from told me it just takes a bit of getting used to - I'm used to near 4k detail on a curved 21:9 so it's probably just the culture shock - forward to the past - :) Big Apple Buddy are quoting the Odyssey at $400 but are a little vague on import duties etc, quoting $80 to UK plus $50 service charge - which I think would be reasonable at roughly £400 GBP all-in. The hype around the new Oculus is tempting though. I just wish they had a definitive date.
-
Hi, I have e-mailed them for a price.. Thank you !. :) Are you happy with the Odyssey for DCS?. I'm using a DK2 and while it's a great experience it does tend to leave my eyes feeling a bit heavy after use - which I think may be more the low resolution than the actual headset.
-
Hi, I've just borrowed an Oculus DK2 from a friend and have blown away by the immersion in VR even with the low native resolution (I usually sim in 21:9 at 3440x1440 and thought that was good!).. After doing a bit of research I'm now considering buying an Odyssey but can't seem to find a UK supplier.. Anyone have any decent links?.. Thanks.
