sounds awesome what time do you guys fly and what days? Id love to join your wing for a few sorties. And i really enjoy the stories as well.:D -
Im happy for you Lawn Dart Dude I think the F16 is a wonderful plane and I wouldnt mind flying it ..................... AGAIN. Hell I hope the next five or six add ons are all F16s if thats all I can get from ED. But heres the kicker and this doesnt just apply to me because Id rather see another flyable that has never been modeled in a flight sim i.e. tomcat, mig-31, harrier. If another company releases a flightsim of this type caliber with aircraft you yourself as a "F16 fan" havent flown would you buy it? Hell yeah you would, You and the rest of this "originality stripped" , "Copy cat" flight sim community would too. And at the same time ive realized, by reading matt wagner's post that if he could he would include these aircraft that noone has ever flown before, why you might ask? Because he aint dumb he knows that people want variety. He knows that all the F16 and F15 fans, and hell even the Su27 and Su33 fans are satisfied. You know what, they say they cant properly model the F14 in Lomac because its a 2 seater and they dont have tactical manuals from the Navy because they are all classified. And they wont release them to a russian company. But its like a slap in the face because if I were a F18 fan all I would have to do is buy any one of the F18 sims on the shelf or on Ebay and boom problem solved but im not I would love to see the F14 as a flyable in a game of this caliber. So it just sucks to be me until some ambitious young AMERICAN company decides not to play copy cat and develope yet another Janes USAF with a different title. Look dude my point is this if your a huge fan of any of the aircraft that are modeled in these games then thank your lucky stars because it sucks being on the other end of the spectrum man. Im tired of getting the same old christmas presents wrapped in different paper every year. Anyone of us would do what ever we could to have the flyables we want in this game if we could but the fact is you cant always fix your own problems and you dont always get what you want. I mean do you hear me? or do you just hear me? Do you understand or are you still blinded by the luster of your 6 or 7th sim that has your favoritest little airplane in it once AGAIN. Im tired of supposed NEW flightsims that feature the SAME aircraft. If you buy a game from me and I modeled the same monsters that you see in super mario brothers but I enhanced the graphics and made King Koopa with more details and gave it a different name would it be NEW? Think for a second man. Im happy for you Lawn Dart you got what you want but will I? Will the rest of us? I hope the answer to that question is yes even if it does take another 10 years.

Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams
JonTex replied to Bublik's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Any solo acts? If so I would be interested in doing a solo ... also not sure what exact date and are you talking GMT or what? 1. Team-TEX 2.1xSu27 3.about 10 mins (probably less) 4. Nov. 11 or 12 (basically Fridays and Saturdays are good for me) 5.Dont matter to me about the settings I can fly in any settings just let me know what you decide 6.I know you wanted flight demo teams but as luck would have it I retired from S77th where I tried to start a demo team but didnt work out so if you would have me in your show I would be honored. I will state for the record I am not the best aviator but I have a lot of heart and some skill. I consider myself to be a seasoned rookie .... lol .... so if you think its a bad idea i totally understand. Thanx for the consideration. My email addy is Jonscott_396@hotmail.com . hehe i just saw your post says solos also so thanx for your consideration. -
SITUATION: I designed a mission that has 15 groups of AI fighter and some not so fighter aircraft, to takeoff in intervals of 15 minutes apart. I decided since it takes so long for the AI to taxi, why not have them takeoff from the runway immediately. Well the AI didnt see it that way. WHAT I DID: I added 15 different groups of AI aircraft to takeoff from maykop base. They have 4 pilots, so four in each group meaning four jets taking off every wave. Each group is set to takeoff in intervals of 15 minutes apart from the runway. They start at 0600 and end at like 0945. WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED: What actually happened was the opposite the AI decided they would taxi from the parking area instead of taking off from the runway immediately. Troublehooting: I troubleshoot the problem and found out this. -If I take away all of the AI groups except just one the AI will takeoff from the runway. -If I add any more groups to takeoff from the SAME airbase the AI will taxi from the parking area and then takeoff regardless of having runway or parking area selected. -If I add another group but have the second group take off from another base the AI will take off from the runway and/or the parking area with no problem. -If I add two groups and have the first group take off from the runway and the second from the parking area at the same airbase both groups will taxi from parking area regardless of their assigned take off position. Note: These results were acheived regardless of groups taking off at the same time or not. i.e. I added two groups to the same base taking off at the same time but one group was taxiing from parking area and the other was taking off from runway. One group will always taxi to runway for takeoff first and then the other will appear in the parking area to taxi and takeoff. Note: AI groups will never taxi or appear at the same time unless they are taking off from different bases. Note: This problem could not be duplicated if I ran the mission outside of multiplayer. i.e. while designing the mission I often click the fly button to test it and see if everything runs as advertised. I hesitate to call this single player but for lack of better terminology when the mission is run locally(clicking fly instead of hosting) the AI flights do exactly as you tell them regardless of how many groups take off from the same base. I hope I have provided enough info on this bug normally I dont even notice bugs because I have a tendency to make the most of what the game gives me. i.e. my radar will not pick up targets in a Su27 when the targets are very close. It usually takes a really long time and I end up dead waiting to get a return to lock. I can see the aircraft visually so I know its there it just wont show up. I dont think this is a bug but i used it as an example because it sounds like one. Initially I thought it might be but then I figured the game was modeled to be that way because of something i might not know about radars. So to make my point I will try to make the most of what I think is a problem until its obvious or someone else says no thats a bug. But this one seems obvious I mean I selected runway and they taxi from the parking area first. JonTex:cool:

No way Sub Im with ya on this one bro seriously i wouldnt mind flying the F16. I mean yall act like we spend our money for this stuff, beggars cant be choosers right? cheers bro .... have one on me:icon_jook

Tactical Manual. What is it used for by the military and why is it so important? And further more are there any OTHER (OTHER <-----keyword) Manuals that can be substituted in its place?
-
Who me, sarcasm whats that? Im just so happy that there are only two flight sims that I can get my hands on before anyone else that have and will have the F16 as a flyable. I mean why would a company waste there time modeling the F16 as a flyable in Lockon or F4 if like say for example say 6 or 7 other companies have already done it over the past 10 years. That would kill the idea of being a new game right? How could it be new if everyone else has done it? Now what was the Name of that game Falcon 4 ? Is it still in stores? If someone could provide a link to the website that would be good I want to see the screenies I dont buy a game till I see the screens and a review might be garbage .....lmao:)

heck yea that would be cool. Dont forget the tinted canopy we wouldnt want the first flight sim to feature the F16 as a flyable to miss some minor detail like that:D

I didnt read all the other post on this one so maybe someone answered you but I do have some info that is sort of helpful. On the F14 we have what is called dashpot pressure that acts independently of the hydraulic system and this would be what you would consider a fail safe feature for the hook. Not sure bout the 33 but when the F14 lifts its hook there is a bar that connects to a small hook attached to the underside of the aft section on the tomcat. This mechanism ensures that the tailhook is secure and that it will not drop prematurely. Normally the combined side hyds will operate your hook but if that fails the dashpot comes into play to blow the hook down. If I remember correctly the dashpot was around 800 psi. On the hook lever in the cock pit you twist the tip of it like a knob and pull the lever down. That unlocks the hook and gravity and dashpot pressure (nitrogen pressure) push the hook down. The dashpot ensures the hook will stay down so that it will not bounce or cause the pilot to bolter. In the picture the hook handle is to the upper right just below the canopy jettison which is yellow and black rectangular looking thing. Not sure but I would hope the Ruskies have something similar to that.

dude Im not trying to be funny but you made history with this post man. I mean I read your whole post and was certain that I was like maybe the 1000th person to read it and was ready to see someone elses thoughts on your idea but noooobody replied.
